5. Beginning of His Specialty

Phil woke up with a headache. What he knew was that he was dead and he couldn't have been reborn in his own body. He would kill himself again if he did. He struggled to open his eyes and wondered why it was so painful. He could feel someone petting his hair and a warm liquid was being poured on his face. He struggled and it was ready hard. He couldn't even move a single rash.

His insides were on fire and the headache was numbing. He tried lifting his hand to touch His forehead so as to soothe it and his hand felt like lead. It was all so painful. He struggled and finally his eyes were open. Then the light assaulted his eyes and that stung and hurt his head like hell. He blinked to adjust to the light and then he focused though the pain was making it difficult.

Then he saw that face. The face he so wanted to see. The face he so missed. But the bearer of that face was bent and crying. He realised that the warm liquid was coming from the other boy's eyes. He was crying while holding him.

It was his Joe.

When Hari walked into that room and saw that lifeless body, he felt a pain he had never felt. He didn't have any affection for Ravi per se because they weren't even acquaintances let alone friends, but he didn't hate the boy. He, in fact, liked him a bit and didn't like all the suffering Ravi was going through. That was why Hari wanted to grow stronger and faster so that his parents could allow him to live on his own. He had promised himself that he would help Ravi.

He found his legs moving on their own accord as he walked towards the bed where Ravi was lying. He was trying to control his anxiety. He was counting his breaths trying to steady his breathing.

When he saw all the blood that was adorning the clean white sheet, Hari knew that Ravi could not be alive. Also, Hari knew the poison that the boy took very well. It was a part of their training. Wolves bane was the enemy of every wolf out there. It could paralyse a wolf if given in small dosages but lethal when concentrated.

The poison that Ravi took, other than having a concentrated amount of wolves bane, it had other very dangerous poisons meant to kill. He was gone. Ravi was gone. The pain assaulted his chest again and he stopped to breath to stop the pain.

Hari didn't realise that he had sat down on the bed and pulled the lifeless body and placed the head on his lap. He then started cleaning that face of all the blood. He did it with such care as he wondered what he would have done to keep Ravi alive. He then found himself petting that head as he talked to the lifeless body.

"Why didn't you wait for a little longer? I was to rescue you. All you had to do was hold on a little longer. Sorry that I was not a good friend. I never stood up for you. I'm so sorry Ravi. Please forgive this useless me," he said and he even didn't realise that tears were already falling down his cheeks onto Ravi's handsome face. He continued crying as he held that boy with regrets.

Hari wished he had done more. He wished that he could have helped maybe train Ravi? If he had been stronger, maybe he would have handled the situation better. He had a lot of regrets and the tears continued falling until he heard a faint voice speak.

"Joe?" It was more like a question and he opened his eyes wide with shock.

Ravi's eyes were open. How?

"Ravi?" Hari said with excitement and confusion and he saw confusion in the other boy's eyes.

"Pain," Ravi said and that brought Hari back to his senses. 'Ravi said he was in pain,' Hari thought as the gears in his brain started working overtime.

"Lay here. Let me get you painkillers and drinking water. Please stay here," he said and after making sure that Ravi was comfortable on the bed, he ran out. He didn't realise it but he was grinning like a fool. It was like the heavens had heard his plea and pain. He promised to visit the shrine and thank the moon Goddess.

Phil thought for a while and wondered why Joe would call him Ravi. Could it be that he was reborn in a different body? He didn't care though as long as Joe was in this world. He wondered why he was so weak though. He tried moving and he couldn't. It was like this body was paralyzed.

As a warlock, he could check his body's condition and he did just that. He sent his spiritual senses into his soul and he was amazed at what he saw. He barely had a soul. It was so weak that he wondered who this person was. He didn't even have a spiritual core! He, however, was able to assess his condition. His intestines had been shredded to pieces and there was poison in his system. That was when it dawned on him. Could it be that the owner of this body had committed suicide and that was why the other boy was crying? Ah! Too bad. He felt bad but smiled when he remembered that Joe was here in this world.

Anyway, he had to heal himself first. He tried casting a healing spell and he almost lost consciousness again. He was too weak. Very weak that he hated the situation. But he decided to try it slowly by slowly. He tried sensing the air and there was a lot of mana in the air. In fact, the room was full of mana and he wondered why the other party was so weak.

As he tried taking in the mana so that he could gather enough energy to heal himself, another bout of headache assulted him and he screamed. But he was so weak that he doubted that the voice even left the door. Then memories started rushing into his brain. He saw the life of his host flash before him like a movie.

He then exhaled when all was over and he felt the headache subside.

Name: Ravi Alfred Wilbur.

Age: 18

Father: trash

Mother: died when he was 8.

Best friend: none

Family: garbage

He went through Ravi's memories and he almost cried. He thought that he had it rough but this one was worse. However, his father's and mother's images were faded and he couldn't clearly see them. But he pitied the boy. How can one person go through such hell.

But there was good news. The host was a wolf and an Alpha at that. Phil smiled. An alpha warlock. Mmm... he liked the sound of that. It was unheard of but he wasn't afraid of exploring and becoming stronger than he was in his previous life.

"But you have me now. I promise I will make all of them bow at your feet," Phil, now Ravi, said and started absorbing mana from the air as he willed himself to get better. The pieces started floating inside his stomach as they went back to how they were. It was a painfully long process but he would get stronger. For now, he had to bear with it.

As he was helping himself, the door opened and Joe waled in. Phil smiled as he remembered that he was Ravi and this was Hari. Hari Winston.

"Here, some painkillers for your headache," Hari said as he handed Ravi two pills and he had no idea what they were. He, however, took them because he believed that Joe would never hurt him. He looked at face that he had missed and felt his heart get warm.

The pills were bitter when he chewed them and he heard Hari laugh as he saw the expression Ravi made when he chewed the medicine.

"Don't chew! Silly. Have you never taken aspirin again. Here, use the water to swallow them," he said and Phil smiled at that smile. Gods! He had really missed that smile.

After swallowing the pills, Hari sat on the bed again as he felt Ravi's forehead. This was too much stimulation for Phil who had missed this man, no, he looked younger than when Phil last saw him, but that did not change how he felt. He still loved him, younger or older.

The pain was lesser and Phil forced himself to sit and when Hari saw that, he helped him and Phil turned and hugged him. Hari was taken by surprise as he didn't know what came over the other boy so as to hug him. However, he didn't ask as he thought that Ravi must have been scared to have gone through a life and death situation and he thus hugged him back. He also patted and soothed his back.

"I'm here. I will always be here," Hari soothed the other boy and Phil enjoyed that warmth. He greedily took it in.

"Thank you," Ravi said and Hari didn't say anything.

Hari thought that Ravi was thanking him for getting him medicine and being here with him but in truth, Phil was thanking Joe for being here, in this world.

This was going to be the beginning if his revenge. Yes. It was Ravi's revenge but that was Phil's specialty.
