Episode 3

Five minutes later Alpha Derrick and Luna Kelly walked in, with Michael hanging onto his Mother's neck and Gracie on her dad, squealing as he tickled her.

They finally get seated and Rose, the cook, serves the food. My favorite, steak and baked potatoes. The food got passed around by Rose and some other kitchen workers.

Joshua, her son, also helps out at times and I can't always help but notice how he gives Mavis an extra large serving of food.

He definitely has a crush on Mavis, but Mavis, being two years older than him, has decided to just see him as a little brother. But I guess the smile she gives him anytime he serves her a plate suffices for him. His cheeks get all pink and he can't look her in the eye and moves on to serve the next person, me. Who begrudgingly gets less food than the former.

I'm pretty sure if she keeps smiling at him like that, one day he's just gonna give her all the food and leave the rest of us to fate.

I can't blame him though, Mavis is beautiful and has such a warm personality. Apparently she got all her looks from her mum, that's what she tells me. But she believes she got her hair colour from her Dad, since her mum was blonde. It was just an assumption though.

Mavis was raised by her single mother, who was Alpha Derrick's older sister. When she passed away, Alpha Derrick assumed responsibility of Mavis who was just 14 at the time. She doesn't talk about her Dad much, probably because she doesn't even know who he is.

She has been living with the Alpha's family ever since, and Rose being the Alpha's cook, stays in his home as well.

That gives Joshua enough time to ogle Mavis, day in and day out.

I've seen it happen. It's unhealthy really, but cute.

The three-year old twins, Michael and Gracie, were already at it, fighting each other on their seats, for which reason, no one knows. They kept screaming and hitting each other, in a playful way of course, until someone dropped a plate and broke it.

Suddenly they were both silent and did their best to avoid their parents' gaze. It was quite laughable.

We were about to get started on the food when Beta Shawn rushed in.

"Alpha! They crossed the border, they're attacking us, they're on their way here!" Beta Shawn was all sweaty but he didn't look scared, if anything he looked furious. Alpha Derrick stood up abruptly.

"Who?" He asked handing Gracie to her mother who quickly took her, beginning to shield her two kids.

"The Blood Moon pack." and that was the last thing I heard before the windows all around us were shattered and wolves came barging in. And all I remember were screams, crying, blood and then darkness.

************************************

I woke up with a pounding headache. I sat upright and held my head. Everything felt woozy and stuffy and it took me a little while to fully come to.

Then I took in my surroundings.

I was in a small room with steel bars at the end which made me realize that I was in a cell.

There was a small beat up body in the corner of the cell. I studied the person a bit longer to see that it was Mavis. I rushed to her only to realize she wasn't the only beat up person. My whole body ached and I felt like I had been run over by a truck. But I didn't see any actual bruises on myself, I just felt that way from the inside.

"Mavis, Mavis, wake up." I shook her.

Minutes later she groaned and turned around.

"What? Where are we?" she asked sitting up and groaning at the same time.

"I should be asking you, I have no idea." I explained.

She sat in silence for a while and then looked around.

"Shit, we're in the Blood Moon pack's dungeon." She muttered standing up.

"Hello? Is anyone out there, Alpha?" She called. No response.

"Hello?" She called again, gripping the bars this time. She immediately let go as she hissed and fell to the ground.

"Mavis!" I stood up and rushed to her.

"Are you ok?" I asked. She just squeezed her eyes tightly whilst rubbing her palms. They were extremely red as if she had just touched hot coals. I curiously looked at the bars.

"Wolves bane and silver, don't touch that darling, she'll be fine." a familiar voice said.

"Rose?" I looked at the cell opposite us and I was right, there she was, her beat up figure still holding a genuine smile.

"Are you girls ok?" She asked.

I looked over at Mavis who looked better now.

"Yeah, we're fine, but where are the others?" I asked.

"They are in cells all around us, they just haven't woken up yet."

"What happened?"

"We were attacked by the Blood Moon pack and they've captured us, and from what I know they are probably planning to kill us, in the worst way possible." She sighed.

"Kill us?" I asked terrified. "Why?"

"To settle an old score." a manly voice said from a couple of cells to our right.

"Alpha?" Rose spoke up, looking in his direction and squinting her eyes a bit.

"Yes." he sighed.

"Why would you say that Alpha?" Mavis asked leaning closer to the bars but making sure not to touch them. He let out a long sigh before he spoke.

"I killed the Alpha's father." he said.

Wasn't expecting that. Alpha Derrick doesn't seem like the murderous type. There has to be some rational explanation.

"Why?" I asked.

"I just did, it was a battle for supremacy and I won. We're wolves, we're territorial." He let out a bitter chuckle. "But now I'm going to pay for it, including hundreds of innocent people." He answered.

Before I could get another question in, someone spoke up.

"Alpha, I see you're awake." A deep voice said .

"Marcus." Alpha Derrick growled.

"That's Beta to you." the Marcus guy growled back. I couldn't see him but I could smell him, he had quite a strong aura for a Beta, much stronger than Beta Shawn's.

"I don't care, where is my mate and children?!" Alpha Derrick started to shout. His wolf getting the better of him.

"I suggest you control your temper for when the Alpha comes back, trust me you'll need every bit of strength you have for what he has planned for you ... and as for your mate, let's just say she's in good hands." Beta Marcus said before walking away, passing by our cell and heading off.

Alpha Derrick let out a frustrated growl before everywhere went silent again.

I sat back down leaning against the wall taking everything in. How did this become my life?

It's hard to think that right now as I am wallowing in self pity, a group of heartless wolves are planning the worst ways for us to kick the bucket. Just in that moment Mavis moved closer to me and hugged me saying it's gonna be alright. But she didn't sound convinced of what she was saying, I wasn't either and I had this gut wrenching feeling things were only gonna get worse.

  • The Rejected Alpha    Chapter 141

Turning around I saw that he was still alive. But he was also still bleeding, and I didn't know what to do. Rushing over to him and shifting back I grabbed his head in my hands. "Damon, Damon stay with me." At this point, he was totally unresponsive. I didn't know what to do. I was vaguely still aware of the fight still waiting for me. I knew it was stupid to get distracted like this while still in this fight, but I couldn't help it. But no one had come to attack me yet, which made me wonder, were they all dead? Were they plotting against me? In my rage I didn't even keep track of the number. But I knew for certain I hadn't gotten Sarah yet. Where was she? Okay, okay focus.I did a mental headcount. That was two, three, four and five together, and I just did six.All six of them. It was just left with her.Damon sputtered again. He was still resisting it, that's why he was still convulsing.Sarah was still doing this. So she was definitely still there, I need to end her. Tha

  • The Rejected Alpha    Chapter 140

"We finally have you." She looked smug as she reveled in her victory. For all three seconds of it she must have felt like a winner. Well the story is not over yet. (An: this one almost is, lol)Finally shifting into my wolf form within my confines, the surge of energy and my rage helped me burst out. All the way out of the containment. Something no one was expecting based on the look on their faces when I grabbed one of them by the torso and tore her right in half. Landing on the ground I crushed her skull under my paw and watched as she also melted away in grey blobs. Six more to go.All of them simultaneously turned to Sarah, as though waiting for instructions. They seemed to be torn between coming to attack me or fleeing. I watched them cautiously, trying to gauge their next move.Would they go into fight or flight mode? Turns out, both apparently seemed like improbable options since they opted with going invisible again. They had nowhere to go though, hopefully. So they w

Get them out of here. Please, tell them all to leave. I told Sorayah, hoping she'd somehow be able to get all the pack members out of here and back in our territories safe and sound. What?No one should die here with me today. It's me they want. I can't let my pack get hurt any further. I won't abandon them. I'll fight till my last breath. I took a deep breath as I lay on the ground trying to get energy. I was going to fight through the pain, there was no quitting this time, consequences be damned. No pain could be worse than having to watch them all get hurt or die.I'm going to end this or die trying.I was getting ready to gather my strength for what seemed like one final shift when a voice entered my head again. My hair stood on end.Adriane. It was Damon. Damon! are you okay? You're barely moving. I'm so sorry! My body, having entered into some sort of weird and impromptu hibernation, didn't even move an inch. Except for the rise and fall of my chest that I was sure was sti

  • The Rejected Alpha    Chapter 138

A voice entered my head. It wasn't the voice I'd been longing to hear, but a wonderful voice nonetheless. A voice that had come with hope.Sorayah's frantic voice entered my head through a mind link and I didn't even have time to wonder how she was doing that. Alpha! You need to do something! I don't know how much longer we can keep this up. We are already growing weary.Sorayah! I'm trying! I'm really trying to stand back up, but I can't. I need more time. I was lying down, almost helpless and I hated it. This isn't what I planned, this isn't how things were supposed to go down. No one else was supposed to get hurt. As I looked out at the rest of the pack, I could feel each and everyone's pain register independently in my core. I felt my pain, I felt the collective pain and all the individual aches. They were in pain, suffering under the mind cleansing brain melt, courtesy of Sorayah. They were all here, suffering, for me. At what point will all this end?At what point really

  • The Rejected Alpha    Chapter 137

And just as I felt the pull increase, it stopped suddenly. Slowly I looked up to see wide blue eyes staring at me in shock. As quickly as it happened he pulled his hand out, thankfully spine-free. This however still led me to collapse on the ground. I was going to heal, yes, that is, if they gave me time to, but for now, I still couldn't feel my limbs properly. I felt a crack that made my body snap, my spine was realigning itself but it was excruciatingly painful and slow. All I could do was lie and watch Damon. Damon who for some reason was still just standing and staring at me. Sarah though, had apparently had enough. "I said for you to take her spine out!" I could see the blackness in his eyes trying to to return, and with all he had he fought against it. So much so that when his eyes started changing colour again I had a sickening feeling it was blood. And I was right. With a grunt he fell back to the ground, blood oozing out of his ears, eyes and mouth. He was spasming on

  • The Rejected Alpha    Chapter 136

I had heard the words.Loud and clear.Yet they rang in my mind like I had imagined them.'Take her spine out.'A very dangerous command uttered against me. And yet I still couldn't move.I had heard those words and I was still frozen in shock.Unfortunately, Damon had also heard them, and was ever willing to oblige.I could feel his fingers and claws pushing past my flesh, tearing muscle and sinew along the way as he continued to inch closer and closer to my spine. The pain was searing and numbing at the same time.I gasped and could only let out silent screams and breathless grunts. My body was still not functioning the way it was supposed to. My motor nerves were defunct but my sensory nerves were working overtime. I could feel every ounce of pain and then some.So when he finally made contact with my spine I felt chills all over my body. From my scalp straight to my toe tips. His hand slowly wrapped itself around the girth of my spinal column, the gaping hole in my back causing
