Chapter 49

Tori's POV

The house he bought for me was beautiful. He did not come along with me to drop me off; I didn’t know if I intimidated him or if it was still about the disappearance of Kylian under my watch.

I sat in the spacious living room, the sudden loneliness overwhelming me as I cried.

I cried because I would miss Kylian. I cried because I had failed him. It hurt to even think about it.

Finally, just when I was preparing to go to bed hungry, my phone buzzed.

I raised m

Chapter 51 Tori's POV If the look of disgust and anger in his eyes was not enough to tell me that he hated the mere sight of Alpha Damian, then the snarl he let out did the job. “Leave,” he said simply, his anger directed at Alpha Damian. Amidst this heated glare, Alpha Damian just stood there, hands in his pockets, not a single word escaping his mouth. Finally, when he opened his mouth to speak, his voice was cool, almost like ice. “That is fine… I will be leaving with her,” he said. Alpha Adrian’s nostrils flared as he stared him down. “She stays right here,” he said. That was it. I would not have him talk to me like I was some child who did not know how to make decisions. “No, I will be going with him because I have a date planned with him,” I said. His anger was now directed at me as he turned to stare me down fiercely. “Why don’t you ever listen! I said anyone under the sun, and yet you still pick him!” he said, frustration now evident in his voice. “W

  • The Rejected Luna Strikes Back    He won’t come out?

Chapter 50 Tori's POV I was not expecting the call that morning. At least, not from him. I was fully dressed and waiting for Alpha Damian, as he had called earlier that morning to ask if I would go shopping with him before we finally went out for dinner. I had nothing planned. I had already started my day with thoughts of Alpha Lancaster evading my head, so I knew it would be an escape from the reality my life had now become. But when he called… His voice sounded so distant and hurt, as though he had done everything he could think of, almost on the verge of giving up. A part of me was surprised—surprised to know that Alpha Lancaster, with all his pomp and prowess, could feel defeated at times. “He won’t come out? I will be right there now,” I said. The first taxi I flagged down was driven by a young man who did not bother to look at my stomach before trying to flirt with me throughout the whole ride. When I finally got out, his eyes popped, nearly coming out of the

I sat in the spacious living room, the sudden loneliness overwhelming me as I cried. I cried because I would miss Kylian. I cried because I had failed him. It hurt to even think about it. Finally, just when I was preparing to go to bed hungry, my phone buzzed. I raised my eyebrows in suspicion as I picked it up. “Alpha Damian… hi,” I said, my voice low. “Open your door. I’m outside,” he said, cutting the call and not giving me a chance to ask him why or how. Skeptically, I walked toward the door, turning the handle and opening it. True to his words, he was standing there, a box of takeout in his hands and a smile on his face. “Won’t you ask me to come in?” he asked, the cheeky smile still on his face. I shook my head quickly to get rid of the shock th

  • The Rejected Luna Strikes Back    Did I interrupt your plans? II

Chapter 48 Alpha Adrian's POV It was hard. It was a hard choice to make, and I did not even realize it until I walked back into the house with Kylian—and she was not there. I did not know just how fond I had grown of her, even though I would rather die than admit it to anyone else but myself. “Why is she not here? Where is Tori? You said she would be home!” Kylian called after effectively touring the house and not finding her. Staring at his disappointed face, I tried to remind myself why this was for the best. I could not keep letting her get too attached. It was bad for her. She would eventually end up hurt and heartbroken when she realized I couldn’t be the man she hoped I could be. I crouched down a little to look at him, giving him a slight pat. He was good as new now, if not better. His energy was somehow unmatched. “Well, I couldn’t tell you this sooner, but Tori had to go. She will visit you sometimes, but she is no longer your nanny,” I said to him. I ex

Chapter 47 Greg's POV I did not regret it. I knew I should feel a slight nudge of guilt in my heart—at least for nearly killing an innocent kid—but I did not regret it. I would do it all over again if I could. The only regret I held was that I had not managed to kill him—or at least the kid. I should have killed the child while I still had the chance. And maybe then, this jail sentence wouldn’t mean all that much to me. My thoughts went back to the woman who came here a few days ago. She was a real nutjob. If she wasn’t pretty, I would have asked that she be arrested and locked up just like me. But I knew she was right. He was Mr. Lancaster—the most feared business mogul in the world. There was no way he was going to let me live after I had tried, not so subtly, to kill his only child. Memories floated in my head—so many memories of my father, being the man he was meant to be. “Kick the ball, Greg. Sometimes you need to learn how to man up,” my father had said. I had

Chapter 46 Emily's POV I hated the oh-so-familiar stench of prison. I hated how the sex-deprived inmates stared at me, as though they wanted me to come closer—just a little closer—so they could stick their lewd tongues into my mouth and other places I would rather not think about. The policewoman escorting me seemed to be voted to death. It was almost as though she would give anything to be away from here, even her soul. “Inmate seventeen, you have a guest. Come quickly,” she yelled, boredom dripping from her voice. I wondered why they built their cells this way. Why everywhere reeked of hate and disappointment. But his cell—his cell was normal. The only thing that reeked in it was the overwhelming stench of cigarettes. “Greg?” I asked, my voice failing me as I stared at him. He was a hunk of a male, gorgeous in all ramifications, the uncensored edge around him making him all the more attractive. He took the cigarette from his mouth, giving me a once-over, his
