Jane

“How dare you bite me when I only wanted to taste you?” he roared, his voice echoing off the stone walls. “How dare you fight me, Jane?”

I had no fear. Fear had died in me long ago, killed by his daily injections of wolfsbane and endless torture. Now he wanted something worse from me.

“What gives you the right to touch me?” I snarled back, my voice hoarse but steady. “You’re nothing but a monster.”

His eyes flashed with anger. “Have you forgotten who I am, little mate?” He stepped closer, and I could smell the cruelty on him. “I’m your mate. That gives me every right to touch what belongs to me. You are mine, and soon you’ll be moaning beneath me. I’ll take you in every way I want. I don’t care whether you accept me or not.”

The words made my stomach turn. This man—this Alpha King—believed he owned everything and everyone. He thought people were just toys for his pleasure.

“I will never let you touch me,” I spat. “I’d rather die than let you force yourself on me, you bastard.”

Jane“I live about ten minutes from here,” I said breathlessly. “With June.”“Show me,” he said, his voice rough with desire.I nodded and smiled back. “Of course, Vishal. Let’s go.”As we walked through the dark streets, our hands intertwined, I couldn’t help but think that maybe this was my chance at real happiness. Maybe the Moon Goddess was finally giving me the mate I deserved. But in the back of my mind, I couldn’t shake the feeling that my past was about to catch up with me. And when it did, it might destroy everything - including this perfect moment with the man who was meant to be mine.“This is where you live?” Vishal asked when we stopped in front of our building.I could see the shock in his eyes. The building looked like it was falling apart, with peeling paint and cracked windows. I knew it wasn’t much, but it was all June and I could afford.“Yes,” I said, feeling embarrassed. “Do you have a problem with where I live?”“No, of course not,” he said quickly, but I could h

Jane“Let go of me!” I screamed, my wolf clawing to get out. “I’ll handle this myself, Amber.” I shoved her away and pushed the king as hard as I could. He fell backward onto the floor, and everything happened in a blur. I saw a small fruit knife on his desk next to the bed.Without thinking, I grabbed it and slashed it across his throat. Blood poured out everywhere.“You...” he tried to say, pointing a shaking finger at me before his body went still. Good. Rot in hell, you bastard. I was finally free.I had to move fast. The guards hadn’t come running, which meant his room must be soundproof. That was the only reason they hadn’t heard our fight. This was my only chance to escape.I grabbed my cleaning bucket and quietly slipped out of his room, trying to look normal. My heart was pounding so hard I was sure everyone could hear it. I dropped the bucket and ran to find June.“June,” I whispered urgently when I found her scrubbing floors in the hallway. “Come here. I need to tell you so

Jane.I continued working, focusing on cleaning the dust from his furniture. Suddenly, Richard grabbed my hand and pulled me around to face him.“Are you not listening to me?” he demanded. “Why aren’t you answering when I speak to you?”I acted as if I couldn’t hear him at all, keeping my face blank and emotionless.“Are you deaf? Can’t you hear that I’m talking to you?” he said, his voice getting louder and more frustrated.I continued to play deaf and mute. I refused to look into his eyes or give him any reaction at all.“Keep pretending you can’t hear me, you stubborn woman,” he said angrily before finally letting go of my arm. “I understand your anger. Fine, I won’t bother you anymore. Just finish your work, maid.”He stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind him. I quickly finished cleaning and left his bedroom as fast as I could. What a terrible day this had been.“Jane, where have you been?” June asked when she saw me coming down the hallway. “I’ve been looking everywhe

JaneI stood there, ready for her to fight back, but she didn’t. Instead, she stormed off, her face red with fury and embarrassment.“Wow, Jane,” June whispered admiringly. “You’re so brave. I wish I could be like you.”After breakfast, Priscilla gathered all the maids to assign the daily chores. When she got to me, she handed me a list that was three times longer than anyone else’s.“What?!” I cried out in disbelief. “You’re giving all of this work to just me?”“There’s no room for lazy maids in my system,” she said with a mocking smile. “You eat my food and sleep under my roof for free. Stop whining and get to work.”She walked away with a satisfied smirk, leaving me staring at the impossible list of tasks. One of the other maids came over to me with a sympathetic look.“She’s clearly trying to bully you into quitting,” she said quietly.“Jane, this is way too much work for one person!” June added angrily. “No wonder our chores today are so light, that witch dumped everything on you

Jane“What?” I said, feeling insulted. “Do you honestly think I would do something so pathetic? For him? After what he did to me?”“Then why are you here?” she asked again, her voice full of confusion. “Why are you living in his pack?”“Because he forced me!” I shouted, all my anger and pain pouring out. “He rejected me when I was weak and defenseless. But then he changed his mind after he discovered how powerful my wolf really is. When I refused to take him back, he threw me in a prison cell. Then he had me tortured. Then he dragged me here and forced me to be his personal maid!”“Oh, Jane...” June whispered, her eyes filling with tears.“I didn’t choose any of this!” I continued, my voice breaking. “I don’t want to be here. I don’t even want to look at his face ever again!”All the emotions I’d been holding inside came flooding out. June listened silently, taking in every painful word I said. When I finished, she pulled me into a tight hug.“You’ve been through absolute hell,” she s

JaneThe hallway fell completely silent. Every servant, every guard, everyone stopped what they were doing to stare at us. No one had ever dared speak to the Alpha King like that. His eyes flashed with dangerous anger. “What did you just say to me?”“You heard me perfectly,” Amber replied through my voice, completely unafraid. “I don’t belong to you or your pack. I owe you nothing.”June stepped forward carefully. “Alpha King, please forgive her. Jane hasn’t been feeling well. She didn’t mean—”“Stay out of this, omega,” Richard cut her off harshly. Then he turned back to me, his eyes burning with fury.“You may not be part of my pack officially,” he stated in a low, dangerous voice, “but you live in my territory. You eat my food. You sleep under my roof. That makes you subject to my rules.”“Your food?” Amber laughed bitterly. “You mean the scraps you throw at us once a day? Your roof? You mean the tiny room with no windows and a leaking ceiling? You call that generosity?”The other
