Jack moved through the hallway with measured steps.

He had barely slept the night before. The conversation in Becca’s chambers had left him restless.

He needed to know if Desmond was truly planning something that could endanger Eugene or the entire pack, he couldn’t stand by and do nothing.

He passed the open courtyard and moved toward the northern wing of the mansion.

He took a deep breath, his pulse steadying but as he neared the grand stairway, the soft sound of heels clicked behind him.
