Chapter 7

**Scarlett’s POV**

“What are you doing there?!” He snarled venomously, his face looked like it was about to burst with rage. And his eyes, his eyes were as dark as two bottomless pits.

“I-I w-was lookin-ng f-for t-the library!” I stuttered, shivering under the intense stare He was throwing at me.

“And does this look like library to you?” He snapped. Confusedly, I looked around me to take in the large book shelves filled with new books, and the table and chairs placed in a nice pattern in a corner, and shook my head slowly at him.

“Yes, this is a library.” I almost whispered. My answer seemed to rile him up more than he already was as he scrunched up his face further- if that was even possible- and took three predatory steps towards me until he was towering over me.

“I asked a question Scarlett, does this look like a library to you?” Is this Alpha a lunatic? Of course this is a library!

“Yes sir, it is.” I whispered back. I wasn’t sure what it was that happened, but immediately the words left my mouth, I felt myself being lifted from the floor, with the wind suddenly knocked out of me.

“I do not ever wish to see your stupid self in this room again!” He snarled in my face. I couldn’t breathe, I knew deep down in my heart that this man would kill me. “…and I do not ever want to see your stupid fingers touching that portrait ever again!” All these for a portrait?!

I felt him release his hold on my neck, making me fall to the floor with a soft thud.

“This isn’t the library, it’s my personal sturdy and it is out of bounds to everyone!” At his statement, my eyes widened in shock as realization hit that I had trespassed.

“I’m sorry sir!” I rushed out fearfully, my eyes were beginning to sting from unshed tears.

“Your silly sorries won’t make anything better! Go to my chambers and await punishment there!” He growled. I hurriedly got up, scurried out of the room and down the corridor before realizing that I didn’t know my way to his chambers…

***

He walked into his room several hours later after I had fallen asleep and woken up on the floor of his room. It was a large room, and as usual with high ceilings and a massive chandelier hanging from its center. The walls and furniture were all painted in white and gold. It looked majestic, expensive, but simple- unlike its owner.

I noticed how his eyes roamed the room until they landed on me and rested. Initially I had hoped that when he would walk in, he would have forgotten everything that had happened in the morning, or even forgiven me for being clueless; but then, when I looked into his deep dark eyes, I realized that he remembered and he hadn’t forgiven me.

“You…” He drawled, taking menacing steps towards me, I shrunk back in fear; “strip and wait for me.” He said making me gasp. He eyed the expression on my face coldly and proceeded to walking into his bathroom like he didn’t have a care in the world.

I sat quietly, with my arms wrapped around myself as I listened to the soft splashes of water in the bathroom, it continued for a while until it stopped. As soon as the bathroom door creaked open, I sat up alertly, waiting for him to come out.

“Sir, I want to go back to being rogue!” I declared as soon as he stepped out of the bathroom. At my statement, he halted in his steps, turning to look at me like I had developed a horn from my forehead.

“What did you just say?” He growled, looking down at me.

“I said I want to go back to being a rogue.” I replied indignantly. If not being a rogue amounted to bending to all of this Alpha’s whims and caprices, then I wouldn’t do it.

“You do not mean what you’re saying right now, do you?” He asked, with an evil smile gracing his face. I wasn’t sure what the smiles were about until he continued speaking; “as soon as you walk out of this room, you’ll be considered a rogue, and my soldiers would come after you, let’s see how far you can go from my door to my pack’s boundaries before you get caught.”

Wait. Was this his plan from the very beginning?

“I’ll give it a trial.” I replied with equal fierceness. I hated men of his nature. Men who would do virtually anything to get into a woman’s dress. Men who exercised their power by trampling on the weak. Men who—

My train of thoughts were suddenly disrupted when his sharp snicker resonated around the room. “Okay fine then,” he said, with his gaze fixated on my face; “I’d mind link my soldiers now.”

Wait. Now?

If he does so now, they’ll be right at his door even before I got out, this wasn’t fair! Wasn’t in the least fair!

“Should I mind link them now? I want you prepared.” He said with a smirk playing across his face. At this instant I hated him. I hated what he wanted to make me do. I hated the fact that he resorted to threatening me to get what he wanted.

And I knew, I knew that the minute I left this room, I would get killed; so picking out all of my odds, and weighing them, I whispered;

“Do not mind link them.” At my response, He smiled, a bright evil smile as he winked at me.

“If you don’t want them here, Scarlett, strip now.” He commanded, with that smug smile still plastered across his face. I wanted to wipe off that smile from his face. I would do anything in  to get it off his face, but I had to wait for my own opportunity,

I remembered his command earlier and didn’t wait to be told a second time, I immediately began tugging on my dress while I cried silently at the injustice of it all…
