Brandon’s POV

“What do you know, Adrian?” I asked him the minute he stepped out of the door.

He turned to me where I was leaning beside the ward door. Max Stewart had left, and I watched him leave from the corner of the hallway. It wasn’t time to introduce myself just yet.

He continued walking and I followed after him.

“They’re her adoptive parents. You know that,” he said gruffly, indifferently, but I caught the twitch in his jaw, the way he glared at Max when he was in the room.

No one glare

Adrian’s POVI was worse than a bastard. Shit. It was her first time and I might have ruined it for her.I watched Brianna scramble to sit up in the bed, her brows drawn as she tried to understand why I just asked that. There was a faint smear of blood on the sheets between her thighs. She gazed up at me with a worried expression on her face. “It’s… It was my first time,” she mumbled softly.I withdrew from getting to the towel, easing back onto the bed and pulling her close. I didn't want her to misunderstand what it was."Is it bad?" she asked, her eyes holding such tenderness, the kind I hadn't managed to give her. "Why do you look like you're unhappy?" she asked softly.I shook my head."No no no, mi amor. No, I'm not unhappy, I promise. I just…""Why? Was it not good? I don't know… I could learn how to…""It's just. I didn't expect… no, that sounds bad.” I scratched the back of my neck, trying to find better words.“I just never considered that you were a virgin. I'm fucking hap

  • The Replaced Bride’s Fortune   Chapter 125

Adrian’s POV Self control was overrated. I didn’t need to be told twice before I let the control snap and burn away.In one swift movement I kissed her, claiming her mouth like a man starved, tasting every inch of her. I basked in the way her body molded into mine, the soft press of her nipples grazing my bare chest and sending heat straight down my spine.Fuck. I was a gone man for sure. I needed her like I needed air. It was a fix I would still chase even if it killed me slowly. She moaned against my mouth, her small hand sliding around my neck and pulling me closer. My hand roamed the side of her body, gripping her waist tight against me until my fingers found the lacy edge of her panties. My heart stuttered. I tugged hard at the fabric, unwilling to pull away from her for even a second, stretching it taut until it tore right at the seams.Brianna let out a deep, needy sigh and I swallowed it whole, kissing her like my next breath depended on it.“Adrian,” she moaned against me, h

  • The Replaced Bride’s Fortune   Chapter 124

Brianna’s POV We parted for air, breathing hard like we ran a marathon, our eyes glossed over with equal heat.My lips tingled, and I was sure they were swollen. Adrian's eyes never left my face, his darkened gaze roamed my face from my eyes to nose to lips. A flush crept up my face. Then he looked down at my chest, where my nipples were peaked and grazed the fabric of the shirt."I think I need my shirt back," he said suddenly, completely serious in that gravely low voice. “Right now.”I frowned slightly, confused. "Your shirt? What do you mean?"His eyes met mine, his gaze intense and hungry, and just then I realized what he was saying. I was indeed wearing his shirt.I giggled. "Adrian," I drawled, hitting his bare chest softly."What?" he said. "It's mine and I want it back."I smirked, a dark gaze in my eyes. "If you want it, you'll have to take it off yourself."His eyes darkened. "Easy."In one smooth motion, he slumped onto the bed, pulling me over him so I was straddling him

  • The Replaced Bride’s Fortune   Chapter 123

Adrian’s POV I did the next sensible thing any man in my position would do. I kissed my wife. The one I’d loved since I was younger, the one I’d married when I got older and found her again, the one who left me, the one who forgot me, the one who married me again, the one still in my bed. It was hot, hungry, passionate and when she kissed me back with the same hunger, I lost it. I groaned against her lips, pulling her until she was laid beneath me, her hair an halo around her head with the soft notes of her shampoo intensifying the warmth in my chest. Hell, I kissed her like I’d never kiss her again, days of her looking at me like a stranger, days of wondering if I’d ever kiss her again in my lifetime, of praying and hoping that her memory returned, it all streamlined into that one moment. Her soft sound as she kissed me back made me feral. I was shaking with an hunger I couldn’t satiate. I wanted more of her, more from her. I wanted her in a different way. She wrapped her small

  • The Replaced Bride’s Fortune   Chapter 122

Adrian’s POVI settled into bed, exhausted and trying to ignore the way my body was buzzing from just being beside my wife. It was harder than I'd imagined.I'd come in after meeting with Barrett and handling some work at the pier, exhausted and ready to be knocked out, only to walk into my bedroom and find my wife awake and in my shirt.I hadn't expected her to still be awake, and I definitely hadn't expected her to be in my shirt. Judging by the outline of her nipples pressed against the shirt, she wasn't wearing anything underneath. My wife had that bad habit that I loved so well, and the thought of her in nothing but my shirt sent my mind into overdrive. Exhaustion lost the war and heat took charge, but I couldn't touch her. Not yet.As hard as it was, with her skittish eyes and her squirmy movements, I knew she still wasn't very comfortable with me just yet, but I was fine. I could wait. No matter how long, hard or painful.Waiting also meant I had to ignore my vixen of a wife be

  • The Replaced Bride’s Fortune   Chapter 121

Brianna’s POV I stood still, unblinking, my nails still biting into the edge of the sofa. I couldn’t move or think or speak. My body prickled with a spark that ran across every inch of my being. Adrian was long gone. He dashed through the door after assaulting me with that toe curling kiss that still had me in a trance.I brought my fingers slowly to my mouth, tracing the swollen lips. I still felt the ghost of his lips over mine.A shiver ran down my spine, I collapsed into the edge of the seat, dazed and breathless.I hadn’t expected him to kiss me, not at all. The initial shock quickly waded way for the rapid heat that flooded my senses. It was almost like a natural response, an involuntary response to him. What he had started as a quick peck to my lips turned into a battle of heat. Before I even realized it, I had parted my lips letting his tongue in, holding tight to his shirt to pull him even closer. The moment a moan slipped free from a deep part of my throat, he became a dif

After the announcement of my shotgun marriage in place of Emily. Dinner ended almost immediately, with everyone dispersing to their respective wings. “Pack your things, you’re going to the Maserati home tomorrow,” father barked at me as I bowed sheepishly at the dining table. My heart stilled at the announcement. Me? Emily was supposed to be getting married to him. Why am I going there? “But…why?,” I started in a quiet voice, taken completel

Dawn hadn’t fully broken yet, but I was already awake. I couldn’t sleep a wink through out the night. My eye-bags would require editing in the photos.Today was the day. I froze the moment he stepped closer. Mi amor? Mi amor? Was I in the wrong house? Why is he looking at me like a dog looks at a chew toy? Is this Adrian or his alter ego.My face must depict the look of utter confusion and shock. I could be a mood chart. My body refused to move, as if the air arou
