"We love you too," they chorused happily.

"Thank you. I will not let you down," assured them.

"Who do we give our contributions to? We don't have a treasurer," one of them asked.

"You," they shouted, facing the woman who just spoke, and she was astonished.

Ella laughed and said, You are our treasurer."

"Thank you for accepting. Kindly give me your contact details. I need to be communicating with you," Ella said and swiped her phone to punch their details.

Then, Tim raised his glass. "To new beginnings," he said, his voice steady despite the tension in the air. Stephanie hesitated, then lifted her own glass. "To new beginnings," she echoed softly. George finally broke his silence with a chuckle. "You two make a good pair," he mused, sipping. "I always thought so." Stephanie blinked and appreciated nervously, "Thank you, President.""You do?" Tim asked to keep the atmosphere lively.George shrugged. "Of course," he said and looked at Hilary.Hilary smiled for the first time, swirling his champagne. "It was not an easy journey, President," he responded.Tim looked at Stephanie's face and saw relief washing over her, he reached for her hand under the table, lacing their fingers together. She squeezed back and allowed herself a small smile."I love you more than I can imagine," he whispered. She looked into his eyes and responded, "I love you too. Thank you for casting away my fears about love and relationships."The words hung in th

"This way," Tim said and led the way. They followed him into the lounge as contained in Bright's message. "Wow!" The excited girls screamed when they saw the opulent, intimately decorated lounge. It was designed to set the perfect stage for a marriage proposal -elegant, romantic, and dripping with luxury. Unknown to them, there were secret cameras. It gave credence to Hilary's worries. 'He wished to propose to her and her man brought her,' he thought and hated George with passion.Stephanie was thrilled and couldn't hide it when she saw the soft, golden chandeliers with cascading crystal droplets casting a warm, flickering glow, while delicate candlelight reflected off polished surfaces."Do you like it, Your Majesty?" Tim, who had been watching her, asked."Yes," she nodded and looked at the furnishings. A plush, tufted Chesterfield sofa in supple cognac leather and velvet flanked by two antique armchairs, arranged around a low, polished mahogany table."Let's sit down," he said but

Hilary, stiffened, his jaw tightening as he waited for Stephanie’s answer.Stephanie hesitated for only a second before nodding. "Thank you, Sir. I’d appreciate that." Her friends exchanged knowing glances but said nothing. Hilary was happy to hear that. It may not change anything but he was hopeful that Tim would reclaim the woman he loved.Stephanie grabbed her purse and gave her friends a quick signal, "Let's go." "Sure," They responded in unison and moved. Hilary moved too and got to the car. He thought that Stephanie wouldn't like to sit with him. He opened the front door but Tim cautioned him."Let your Big sister sit in the front," he said, and Stephanie had no choice but to comply.Laura, who had been lingering nearby, watching Barbara and Vincent but had her attention on Stephanie, scowled as she climbed into Tim’s car. "Lucky break but a clunker," she muttered under her breath before storming off to see how Barbara would leave with Vincent."Thank you, Sir," the girls

Hilary shifted uncomfortably, still lingering near the edge of the crowd. He knew exactly how it had happened and was despairing because he believed he was the cause. That was not the right time for Stephanie to experience such. Not when she was battling with so many things - Tim's silence, her dead parents, and siblings. She nictated, fighting her tears while everyone focused on her.She turned to the nearest security officer and pleaded, "Can you locate the President's driver, please?""Miss Benjamin. The president parked it by himself," he answered without minding the weight of his response. "Ha!" She exclaimed in despondency.Obviously, Laura had temporarily forgotten her big problem and taunting someone better than her. She folded her arms, watching with barely contained glee. "Some people just don’t know when to quit," she muttered loud enough for Stephanie to hear. Stephanie ignored her. She looked at Hilary, who was genuinely concerned, and wondered why he had not gone. "Leave the car there," he said and walked away."It's okay," he said and looked at the parking again, wondering why he chose to punish her.George got to his office and called Tim.Tim's House He was connected with Stephanie when he got a call from George and looked at the time. It was some minutes before 4 PM and he wondered why he was calling him.He picked up the call all the same and greeted him, "Hello, George. What's up?""Hello, Boss. Congratulations," he complimented him.He furrowed, wondering what had happened, and asked, "What is the compliment for?""I have found a wife for you. Kindly come over and meet her," he said dismissively. Before he could recover from the shock and ask questions, George cut the call.He looked steadily at the phone for some time as though he would get the answer to the puzzle."What is the meaning of this?" He asked himself in trepidation. He got up, sat down immediately, and picked up the phone. He did the same thing for a minute or two before h
