Chapter 61

Audrey’s POV:

“You ought to be careful milady,” Ian said worriedly to me as he wrapped me up in a costume looking more like a war gear than a robe.

They were all still skeptical about Kaden, and I couldn’t help but understand their worries because I knew that they didn’t know him well enough to trust him.

I still couldn’t bring myself to tell them that he was my mate though and I still do not know why.

Ignoring the piercing stares from Ian and Lucas, I quickly wore the handmade sandal that I’d been given and walked out of the tent only to discover that almost everyone in this makeshift was just outside my door… waiting for me to step out.

There was this tenseness in the air that got to me, it made me shiver with fear and my palms to sweat. I could notice how they were staring at me as if I was a lamb being led to slaughter and couldn’t help but smile at their concern.

I didn’t say a word to them though, couldn’t bring myself to as I was in no mood to even offer any form of prep talks
