Isabella’s POV

For a moment, I couldn’t move.

I stared down at the chocolate cake smeared across the front of my beautiful pink gown, watching the icing slowly slide down the delicate gold detailing. My hand was still pressed against my cheek where Lena had slapped me, and I could hardly believe what had just happened.

What the actual hell? I lifted my eyes toward her, but she was already laughing.

Edward stood beside her, looking thoroughly entertained. He glanced at my dress and let out

  • The Rise Of The Last Golden Wolf   Not Mine!

Luciano’s POV I almost smiled, but the sight of her in my arms brought my attention back to what had happened. My mate had been attacked in the middle of her own celebration. Edward and Lena had not only humiliated her in front of our guests, but they had allowed their friends to hold her people back while they hurt her. I looked directly at Edward. “Guards.” Several of my warriors immediately stepped forward. “Take her and him. Put them in the dungeon. Chain them up. Wolfsbane and silver. No one is to visit either of them until I go down there and speak with them. Is that understood?” “Yes, Your Majesty.” Edward took a couple of steps backward, shaking his head frantically. “No. No, no, no, no. That’s Amira! That’s not Isabella. She’s not the princess. She’s Amira!” He kept repeating himself, looking between me and the woman in my arms as though saying it enough times would somehow change what had just happened. I tightened my hold on my mate. “Take them.” Two guards grabbed

  • The Rise Of The Last Golden Wolf   Hello…

Edward’s POV I stared at the guy, trying to figure out why the hell he’d just shouted that name. Isabella? That was the princess’s name. The one everyone had been talking about since the announcement went out. The missing daughter of the Southern King. But he wasn’t looking at some princess. He was looking at Amira. I glanced down at her, still on the floor, her dress covered in chocolate cake and her hair a mess. She was clutching something gold in one hand, and I could see the tears on her face. What the hell was going on? The guy dropped to one knee beside her, completely ignoring everyone else around him. He gently moved the hair away from her face, his expression changing as he examined her cheek. “Isabella, sweetheart, can you hear me? Are you all right?” I frowned. Sweetheart? What the fuck? He was practically babying her. He brushed another strand of hair away from her face and spoke to her again, his voice much softer than I’d ever heard it. “Look at me, sweetheart. Wh

My hand was still pressed against my cheek where Lena had slapped me, and I could hardly believe what had just happened. What the actual hell? I lifted my eyes toward her, but she was already laughing. Edward stood beside her, looking thoroughly entertained. He glanced at my dress and let out another laugh, shaking his head as though I were some kind of joke. “Aw, what happened? Did your dress get all dirty?” I looked at him, trying to process the fact that he was standing here, in the middle of a celebration, behaving as though he still had any right to speak to me. Lena stepped closer, examining me from head to toe. Her attention settled on the crown resting on my head. “Aw, look. You got a toy crown.” She laughed, pointing at it. “Oh, you actually think you’re a princess? Are y

Edward’s POV The Northern Palace came into view as our car made its way up the long driveway, and I couldn’t help staring at the massive structure ahead of us. The place was huge, with towering stone columns, beautifully landscaped grounds, and enough windows to make the entire building look like it was glowing in the afternoon sunlight. Lena leaned forward in her seat, practically pressing her face against the window. “All of this, Edward?” she squealed, turning toward me with wide eyes. She placed her hand on my leg and gave it a squeeze. “All of this is going to be mine.” Father turned around from the passenger seat, his expression already sour. “And why the hell do you think all of this is going to be yours?” Lena smiled, but instead of answering him directly, she rested her hand against her stomach. “I’ve got my ways.” Father didn’t seem to notice the gesture. He shook his head and turned back around. “You’re delusional.” I leaned back against the seat, watching the palace

  • The Rise Of The Last Golden Wolf   She Will Be

Isabella’s POV It had been three days since we arrived at Luciano’s palace, and I was beginning to feel a little more comfortable with my new surroundings. Luciano had been wonderful about giving me space, never once insisting that I sleep in his room or that I move in with him. He had simply told me that whenever I was ready, I could join him in what he called our room. For now, I had been staying with Valerie in the suite he had given her. We had our own sitting room, a beautiful bedroom, and more space than either of us knew what to do with. I was currently lying in bed with my eyes closed, enjoying the quiet. Unfortunately, I knew exactly what day it was, and that was probably why I wasn’t particularly interested in getting up. Today was the day. Today, my father would officially introduce me as his daughter and announce to the world that the missing princess of the South had finally been found. I was excited, nervous, and a little overwhelmed just thinking about it. I had sp

  • The Rise Of The Last Golden Wolf   Not Any More!

Luciano’s POV I instructed Dante to have the staff bring the refreshments and snacks into the main sitting room of my quarters. There was no reason for everyone to remain crowded into the guest room when we had plenty of space here. Besides, I wanted Isabella to be comfortable, and I had a feeling Valerie would appreciate having a little more room once the food arrived. We made our way into the sitting room, where I settled onto the large couch. Isabella approached and started to sit beside me, but I had other ideas. I reached for her waist and pulled her onto my lap. She immediately smacked my chest. “Luciano! I can sit right there. You didn’t have to pull me onto your lap.” I looked down at her, unable to keep the smile off my face. “Would you prefer I let you sit beside me?” “Yes! We’re not that close yet.” She screamed loudly. I raised an eyebrow. “Not that close?” She nodded her head firmly, although the pink coloring spreading across her cheeks made her argument a little
