Chapter Fifty-Four

A new dress.

I wake up the next day, Saturday, alone in bed. I had reached for Lance but found his side of the bed stone cold, which meant he had been up for a while.

“Morning sleepyhead.” His voice was getting deeper by the day. He was losing the soft bodily charms of being a prince and now becoming the solid warrior body of a king. There was not one muscle that wasn’t toned, not one ounce of unused body fat…he was a killing machine.
