Ember

I watched the hunky figure of Damon get dressed and headed out of the room. I watched his retreating figure open the door handle. As he opened the door handle, a little glimmer hope crept into my mind that he will look back towards me before heading out.

“Turn around…pls” I whispered quietly to myself, My breath was caught in my throat. However, he marched out of the room without glancing back at me. He shut the door behind him with brute force that it made a thunderous sound that echoed in my sad heart.

My eyes welled up in tears as it flowed down my cheeks effortlessly. Moments later, I snapped out of my daze and rushed out of the bed to wear a full- length purple gown. I regained myself and re-called Damon saying he has a meeting with my father. “What does Daddy want to discuss with the Alpha so urgently?’ I pondered to myself.

I remember venting to him on the tension between Damon and I went I last visited him at our family estate, although I wasn’t expecting him to meet with the Alpha. He always spoilt me with lavished gifts and luxurious items. He devoted his time and resources towards me and will not spare anyone who upsets me. I was his little ‘princess’ as he always called me since infancy.

I tip-toed to the palace corner close to the throne room. It was forbidden to listen on the private meeting of the Alpha, but my curiosity got the best of me as I tried to listen keenly to their covert meeting while remaining invincible.

They spoke in low-tones but  I managed to hear the main bit of their conversation. “Aurora is still alive?” I mumbled to myself. Upon realizing I spoke out loud, I used one of my hands to cover my mouth.

They paused to look around to see if anyone was anywhere close to them, but I found a place to hide quietly. After it appeared they have concluded their meeting, I slowly returned back to our inner chambers. I gently closed the door and stood leaning on it behind me. A wave of confusion washed over me. “ How did Aurora escape from Natasha’s henchmen? I thought they were the best? Will anyone suspect it was me and seek justice? These were all the questions that went through my mind. If Alpha Darius should track the incident back to me, this could be breakout into an all-out aggression. The Silverfang pack are one of the strongest packs in the region. The last thing I want to do now is escalate the frosty relations between both Alphas.

With that thought in mind, I stepped to find my partner-in-crime Natasha. “Get me Natasha right now..” I ordered one of my personal bodyguards. The she-wolves was startled, but she quickly swung into action and rushed out to get her. Before she reached outside, Natasha walked into the chambers.

“Greetings my Luna…I was patrolling the corridors and heard you looking for me. How may I serve you? Natasha asked in a respectable manner. I took a deep sigh as I glanced at me intently.

“I just heard some unsettling news that Aurora is still alive” I replied in a sharp voice. Natasha gasped in awe as her eyes widened in disbelief.

“That’s impossible. I hired the most dangerous rogue on this assignment. They never failed me up till the moment.” Natasha replied in conviction. I shot a glare doubting her competent her agents were. She shuddered after meeting my dark gaze but she regained herself quickly.

“I can’t believe that worthless omega is still alive. I will handle this personally..” Natasha said while attempting to leave. I signed her to halt.

“Wait! right now the best thing is to distance ourselves away from that failed attempt. How sure are you it can’t be traced back to us?” I asked with a concerned look on my face. Her demeanor softened as she gazed at me.

“No my Luna, I took all precautionary steps to make sure that doesn't happen. I used rogues who had no connection to our pack to find her. So, even if they were found before completing the assignment, they have no direct link to me or anyone here in the palace. They are expendable.”  Natasha replied with an aura of confidence. “I wish I had that much faith in those like you do.” I replied her in a serious tone, she nodded quickly in affirmation. “Find someone who will keep track of that vixen Aurora. I want to know her every move.” I gestured for Natasha to depart.

“Yes my Luna, I will arrange it immediately. This failure wont repeat itself again.” She said as she left for the exit. I moved to the bedroom and slumped on the bed.

“It appears I still haven’t taken cared of Aurora problem. I have to find a way to resolve it permanently with a more drastic approach.” I mumbled to myself.

“Next time Aurora, you will have no one to help you out. You pathetic omega.” I thought to myself. I had a broad smile on my face as I kept thinking of various ways to get my revenge on Aurora for making me beg for Damon’ attention even after many months on her departure.

Suddenly, out of the bloom a bright idea crept into my mind. My smile was from ear-ear fantasizng how sweet my new revenge plan is for Aurora.

“No way out for you this time, you useless maid!” I clenched my fists while lying down on the soft king mattress. It was big enough for three people to sleep comfortably on without any inconvenience.

DamonDark clouds hovered around the palace like a dark plague. The weather gloomy and unpleasant. My wolf grunted at the overall aura of the atmosphere. “Today feels like a moody one.” I mumbled to myself quietly.I sat down on the edge of my bed trying to get dressed but a chilling sensation rushed through my body. It was the fingertips of Ember caressing my chest. My wolf huffed in disgust as she whispered into my ear. “Good morning my Alpha…” She gently nibbled on my ear. A pang of annoyance rushed over me.Without wasting any more time, I gently tilted my shoulders.” Good morning Ember, I have to attend to an early meeting in the throne room. I got a message from your Father that he wants to see me urgently. Do you have any idea what it’s about?” I turned my neck sideways to gaze into her eyes deeply. She was taken aback by my sudden question. Her face turned pale in fright. However, she quickly regained her composure. She tried to feign ignorance but her facial expression had g

Darius. There was a cacophony of noise coming out from the gym room on my way back to the palace. Usually, I don’t intervene as my presence may be awkward or dampen the mood. Meanwhile, the noise intensified so much I couldn’t ignore any longer. My wolf grunted as we approached closer. The soldiers were so into the excitement that they didn’t even realize my arrival. My beta Cameron tried to alert them but I gestured him to be quiet. “Shh” I placed my finger on my lips for him to keep mute. I quietly walked behind them to see what the fuss was all about. Raven has just taken down one of my biggest warriors without any hassle.“He didn’t see her coming.” I muttered to myself. I had a broad smile of my face feeling impressed on my strongest warrior Raven. She fought beside me as me second-in-command in various battles and instilled an element of fear both in our enemies and also fellow soldiers as someone who wasn’t to be trifled with. There was a sense of confidence I had when she was

AuroraAfter some few days , my wounds were completely healed. The joy of standing in the sunshine again jolted me out of the room. I took a moment to enjoy the ambiance all around me as my skin glowed in porcelain white. From my peripheral vision, I caught some of the she-wolves in the courtyard stealing glances at me while passing through. They quickly dashed as I met their gaze. The few days I rested really brought out the fairness of my skin. “Maybe it’s the portion the healer gave me to drink.” I chuckled to myself. I continued to stroll around around the palace where I met Raven training with other warrior wolves in the gym room. She was in the process of coaching the others on self defense tactics when she noticed me. Initially, I shuddered and tried to walk away but something halted my movement. “Strong and fierce..” Suddenly I remembered the advice of Cameron yesterday and it dawned on me. “I’m no more anyone’s prey.” Instinctively I faced raven and nodded to greet her. Aurora“Is this a dream?” I mumbled quietly to myself. Unknown to me, it slipped out to the ears of the one who I wished didn’t hear it the most.“It's not a dream, you crazy girl.” That baritone voice was only Darius. He looked at me with a puzzled look. He shot me a glare that took me aback. My eyes widened in disbelief. I tried to tilt my head forward, but I have not gotten my full strength back, yet there was significant progress in the healing of my wounds.“Alpha…” I stuttered. His expression remained unfazed. His eyes darkened as he stared at me deeply. Before I could finish my sentence, he snapped.“I can see your wounds are healing quicker than I expected. It’s impressive for someone without a wolf.” He scuffed. I didn’t even notice he was holding my hands until he suddenly let go. He adjusted his seat back, which stirred a sad feeling in my heart. From his expression, I could tell he was trying to control his anger, yet his patience was wearing thin. He suddenly stood uprig

Aurora “Come back to me…” I remembered hearing Darius voice vaguely as I gently opened my eyes. I woke up on a king size bed with the initials “D” beautifully crafted at the head-space. I looked around to see the interior decor of the Alpha Darius' bedroom. It had a minimalistic setting but still kept an extingusihed aura. It was filled with imported furnitures and expensive artworks. It also had sculptured statures that aligned with the huge mahogany table at the corner of the room.“This is the first time I’m seeing the inside of the alpha’s room.” I mumbled to myself. Before I could nourish my sight with its’ beauty, I felt a sharp pain.“Ouch!” I grimaced as I felt a thunderous headache like a large drum beating in my brain. Suddenly, Raven rushed in quickly.“What’s wrong Aurora?” She asked in a concerned voice. She had a worried facial expression like she genuinely cared for me. It was different than the usual condescending almost disdain look that I was accustomed with her.
