Darius
Knock! Knock!
I could hear a sharp knock on the thick mahogany doors. It was soft yet assertive. My wolf grunted in annoyance at the sudden interruption. Time stood still as Aurora and I connected in a deeper level. I held her arms in a feeble act to pull her slightly away from me. I signaled her to kindly give me a minute to discard whoever it was.
“What is it?!” I sneered at the direction of the knock. I could hear their heartbeat pacing rapidly as they hurried to reply.
“My… apologies Alpha, I have urgent report that needs your approval.” I recognized the calm voice of Cameron, my beta. He knew very well not to disturb me especially when I’m in my private chambers.
I remained silent for a few seconds. “Maybe he will go away, if I don’t answer.” I mumbled quietly to myself. The whole room became awkward as Aurora gently smiled at me.
“I think you should atleast find out what it’s about? I’m sure cameron has a valid excuse to look for you now.” Aurora slightly adjusted her dress, she gently tilted her head back as I walked to the door.
Just as she was almost done re-arranging the length of her gown, a scar was clearly visible on her collarbone. It was almost glowing. Immediately, it caught my attention. I stared for a few seconds, before Aurora caught me staring at it deeply. She held the helm of her dress feeling shy. She averted her gaze as soon as she met mine, which made me uncomfortable.
“Cough..come in!” I yelled out. The doors opened gradually, revealing him in a tailored gray suit. He wore leather shoes which made him stand-out and elegant. He always looked sophisticated in his high-end clothings. He slowly opened the door with his head looking down to the floor.
I curved my lips as I understood his demeanor. I knew he was scared to see us in a comprising situation. “What do you want cameron?”I asked in a sharp tone. My wolf was already restless and anxious as what will be so urgent that my beta had to rush over.
“My Alpha, the task you gave me to uncover the burly men who chased aurora…” Cameron finally looked up to meet my gaze. His eyes widened as her met Aurora in my chambers.
Aurora gently arranged a string of hair danging on her cheekbones as she politely excused her out of my room.
“ Goodnight Beta Cameron.” Aurora greeted as she hurriedly walked past him. He slightly nodded his head to acknowledge her. Aurora rushed out without even looking at me. Luckily, with my peripheral vision I saw her face all blushed in red as she headed out.
She closed the door behind her, leaving just me alone with Cameron. He had a cheeky smile on his face, but he quickly snapped himself back feeling guilty for interruption.
“Pls forgive my intrusion Alpha, I didn’t know you were…busy.” He said in a hoarse voice. He averted his gaze as I shot him a glare.
“ Why are you here, Cameron?” I asked with an impatient voice. My wolf grunted ready to lunge at him if he delayed his response any further.
“My apologies Alpha, you said I should report you on any update concerning the burly men who trapped Aurora immediately I hear anything.” He replied back. Suddenly, my wolf was more interested on what he had to say. I gestured for him to continue with the report.
“For now the true purpose of the men who followed her aren’t clearly known. But, they were high-end soldiers for hire. Their client must be very rich to acquire their services. So far, there has been unrest at the border as the warriors believe another pack are trying to move towards us. For now, they are concealing themselves very well.”
I let out a deep sigh, there have always been moves from other packs to get control of our territory as we stood on vast acres of land and natural resources. Yet, no one has ever been this brazen to make such a bold step to chase someone close to me.
“Not even Damon will think of doing such a thing. He knows the consequences of breaking the truce.” I thought to myself. I snapped back to reality as I met Cameron’s puzzled face.
“Let the warriors strengthen the borders and stay vigilant. I promised Aurora she would be safe. I intend to keep that promise.” I said to him with conviction. I clenched my fists to the thought that there was still someone who intends of making Aurora disappear while she settles into my kingdom.
Cameron nodded in agreement and moved swiftly out of the room. Moments after he left, my thoughts were back to the mark I saw on Aurora’s collarbone. It looked familiar yet mysterious. “I feel I have seen it somewhwere before.” I pondered to myself as I tried to recollect where I saw it.
AuroraMy eyelids opened to the beautiful sun's rays that reflected through my bedroom window. It had the perfect orange-yellow glow which gently touched my face like a lover’s caress.I was greeted by the calm melodies of birds humming on the huge tree close to me. I stretched my hands feeling relaxed and energized. My mood was obviously brightened up remembering the note of last night.“Meet me in the forest by noon…” My cheeks turned pink blushing, a million thoughts running through my head. What plan does Darius have for me today? "Will he accept me as his mate…” I thought to myself. Instantly, a wave of anxiety washed over me. For many months, this was all that I dreamt of finally hearing those sacred words from Darius, making me be his Luna. Finally, I got out of bed humming along with the birds from earlier as I wore my training gear. I took a deep sigh after getting ready and proceeded out of the room.Even though it was still a few hours after daybreak, the palace hallway was
AuroraI rushed back to my room. The moment Darius released my hands, my heart kept pacing heavily. I put my hand on my chest to steady my heart rate, but nothing changed.“What is Damon doing here?” I asked myself. Seeing him looking dashing in a dark blue tailored suit, with black shining corporate shoes. His slick all-black hair made him look more appeasing.Even in his suit, his biceps and entire body frame seemed to be inches away from shredding completely. I thought after all these months, I could finally let go of whatever bond we shared as mates. All the painful memories of how he took pleasure in making my life uncomfortable all came flowing back. It felt like a huge wave crashing down on me. I sat down on the floor with my back against the wall in the room.“Why did he have to come when I finally moved on?” I cringed at the thought of having to talk to him again. The cruel rejection still remained fresh in my mind, like a nightmare.Yet after several months, even after the f
DamonI clenched my fists until my claws made me bleed. Nothing more belitttling than the smirk on Darius face. He had the facial expression of an oppponent who just won the battle.“I’ll get my revenge…Darius.” I muttered to myself. My wolf growled and tried to transform out to move closer towards him, but I knew this will affect my true intention. A few moments later, I took a deep sigh and gazed at Darius intently.“My soldiers never get scared, they are only baffled with the drillings that’s all, even after we signed a peace treaty. Some might see this as a cowardly act of not fulfilling your oath. I’m sure your no oath-breaker. Right…Alpha Darius?”There was a pin-drop silence across the room. The smirk on darius’ face slowly transformed into sinister sneers and dark glazes. The whole demeanor of the room changed into an awkward environment. His council members who were preesent alongside their pack warriors’ protested in anger against my utterance.Yet, I remained unfazed as
Darius“Damon, what’s he doing here?” I asked myself. It wasn’t uncommon for Alphas to visit other kingdoms unannounced. However, due to the last conflict we faced. It has already increased the cold tension between our packs.Meanwhile, I found myself in turmoil. "What were his motives? Could it be about...” I mumbled to myself. Within quick seconds, I slightly loosened my grip of her hands, and she dashed off before I could say anything to her.I watched her retreating figure and took a deep sigh as a beautiful moment was interrupted by none other than Cameron again.“Cameron!” My wolf growled, getting ready to lunge at him. I shot him a dark glare, which took him aback. He immediately knelt on one knee with his head slightly bowed down.“My Alpha, forgive my interruption. I will accept any punishment you give to me.” He said in a serious tone, which took me aback.I stared at him for a few minutes before I managed to restrain my wolf. I took a weary sigh and replied, “You should tie
AuroraLooking at Alpha Darius at the gym brought back all the pain I faced while I was still in Moonfall pack. The constant mind games and manipulations. Constantly treating me like a personal pet.“I know Darius is different, but sometimes he can really push my buttons.” I thought to myself as I saw the smug on his face. He had a cheeky smile which infuriated me more. I didn’t even realize when raven was trying to signal me to greet him. At that moment, I wish I could wipe that smirk off his face. But, I know that was the end of me. I regained my composure and greeted him respectfully. Before he left, he had a puzzled look on his face, like he had no idea what he was saying to me. Suddenly, I felt a tap on my back.“What happened, did something occur between the two of you?” Raven had a befuddled look on her face. I didn’t have the words to express what I felt in my heart. I could only nod my head in denial. Raven could tell there were some things left unsaid but decided to let them
DariusI walked into the palace from my usual morning exercise. As a hybrid Alpha, I don’t really need to do workouts to keep myself bit as I genetically have a muscular physique with a good metabolism. I still have to maintain my strength and endurance so as not to appear weak to anyone who is willing to challenge.I was enjoying the humming sounds of the birds in their nests in the trees. It gave me a harmonious feeling and relief hearing their beautiful sounds. It really kicked-started my day in a happy mood.“Good morning Alpha.” The workers greeted me in unison as I walked past them as I tried to follow the humming sounds.“Thank y'all,” I said with a broad smile on my face. This took them by surprise as they gasped in awe. I wasn’t known to have a warm personality, especially among the people who worked in the palace.I tried to remain fair and unbiased while giving them orders. But, I tried not to get too friendly with them. So, when I answered them in a joyful manner, they seem
