Darius

The clouds were gloomy, scattered all over the sky, dark-ish. It didn’t help improve my mood as I stepped out of the palace. The palace servants and guards greeted me on my way out with respect and courtesy.

“Good morning, our Alpha, may your reign be long and prosperous.” They all said, slightly bowing to me in sync. I reluctantly nodded my head in approval as I strode out. I caught the gaze of my beta, Cameron, who had a troubled facial expression. It’s like he could read my thoughts, no matter how much I try to hide them, which I found upsetting. I hissed as I walked passed him hurriedly.

He immediately followed me closely behind and remained silent till we were in the open, away from prying eyes. After he checked around, making sure no one could hear us, he leaned close to me.

“My Alpha what’s troubling you? You seem to be moody after you came out of your chambers.” Cameron asked with a befuddled look. His tone sounded sincere, but I could tell he was only fishing for information. Not wanting to disclose any details, I immediately spat.

“Everything is fine, no need to worry,” I replied in a serious tone. I let out a ‘hmph’ expression as I continued walking. He continued to tiptoe behind till I eventually stopped.

“What is it, Cameron?” I snapped. He was taken aback as I only refer to him by his name when I am slightly irritated, but he regained his composure instantly.

“My apologies, Alpha, but as your beta, it’s my duty to make sure nothing troubles you.” He replied while averting my gaze. I let out a weary sigh as I found a quiet place to sit within the palace premises. It was close to a little pond, filled with exotic fishes that were imported. It always calmed me when I came to this location because it is secluded from outsiders, as my private sanctuary.

I gestured for Cameron to sit down beside me as I admired the colorful designs on their fins. “I didn’t mean to snap at you, I just clashed with Aurora before stepping out of my chambers.”

Cameron gasped in awe, yet he quickly snapped back. “Aurora? The omega was sold to us as a breeder from Alpha Damon? Did she offend you?” I could see his face begin to turn red in anger, so I had to interject.

“No, she didn’t, in fact, since the moment we went to the Moonfall pack wedding. Her presence unsettles me. It stirs up emotions that I have never felt with anyone before, especially for an omega without a wolf.” I answered him in a calm voice. Cameron’s demeanor lightened up as he tilted his head backwards.

He remained mute, but then he finally responded. “ It may appear fate has more install for both of you. If I may, my Alpha, I humbly ask you to get to know her at least for a little bit. Who knows, she might surprise you.”

I curved my lips slightly as its suggestion. “When did you become so wise, Cameron?” I mumbled to myself. I signaled for him to leave as I reflected on my thoughts. He stood up and slightly bowed to him before he took his exit.

Cameron became my most trusted advisor due to his genius-level IQ and brilliance. Though he was not from a high-born family, but due to his hunger for knowledge and adapting tactical strategies both on the battlefield and in palace affairs. It was only natural to make him my beta, regardless of custom for enlisting from prominent families. However, his educational background and overall leadership qualities warmed the hearts of the council and gained their acceptance. A sense of pride washed over me as I watched his retreating figure.

Meanwhile, my wolf seemed to agree with his suggestion. No matter how much I tried to ignore Aurora. My wolf still grunted and howled, yearning for her touch. My deliberate avoidance wasn’t helping either, as it just made it harder to resist. It took every ounce of my power to restrain myself from storming into her room and claiming her as my mate. My wolf pushed and pulled till I just got to the doorknob, but thankfully, I got the upper hand at the end of the night and stopped myself from moving any further.

So, the thought of her having the impression she offended shocked me and my wolf. Knowing Damon and his various schemes to take over my pack. When he proposed her sale to me as a breeder. I initially assumed she was sent to be a spy and try to gather sensitive information about my pack. However, over the past weeks, I have noticed her adapting well to our way of life. Even with the mocking and ridicule from the rest of my pack. She remained unfazed and still wants to have a genuine connection with me.

“Maybe I should stop resisting and spend more time with her. After all, if we manage to get her to accept our ways. She can become a great asset against Alpha Damon.” I mumbled to myself. My wolf also scuffed as my final decision to stop resisting her and get to know her more. Who knows what fate has planned, bringing her to my life as my mate.

AuroraI barely managed to return to my room. My chest felt like it weighed a ton of bricks placed upon it. I gently put my hand on my chest and tried to take a deep breath. As I closed my eyes, trying to concentrate. My mind kept wondering on its own. No matter how much I tried to focus, I kept getting distracted.“What just happened? Those soft lips.” I mumbled to myself. I gently bit my lower lip, trying to savor the sweet taste of Darius. His kiss was fierce like a hungry wolf, but at the same time it was kind and gentle. My knees could hardly hold up my body. I felt like letting myself loose and just melting to the floor. I swiped my lower lip with my hands to confirm I wasn’t in a dream. “ Even if it is, I don’t ever want to wake up.” I thought to myself. I remembered hearing the she-wolves in the Moonfall Palace kitchen whispering among themselves. After working hours, they will gather behind and giggle between themselves. Of course, they always chased me away because I wasn’

DariusKnock! Knock!I could hear a sharp knock on the thick mahogany doors. It was soft yet assertive. My wolf grunted in annoyance at the sudden interruption. Time stood still as Aurora and I connected in a deeper level. I held her arms in a feeble act to pull her slightly away from me. I signaled her to kindly give me a minute to discard whoever it was.“What is it?!” I sneered at the direction of the knock. I could hear their heartbeat pacing rapidly as they hurried to reply.“My… apologies Alpha, I have urgent report that needs your approval.” I recognized the calm voice of Cameron, my beta. He knew very well not to disturb me especially when I’m in my private chambers.I remained silent for a few seconds. “Maybe he will go away, if I don’t answer.” I mumbled quietly to myself. The whole room became awkward as Aurora gently smiled at me.“I think you should atleast find out what it’s about? I’m sure cameron has a valid excuse to look for you now.” Aurora slightly adjusted her d

DariusThe crest of the moon was glowing in the clear sky. The sound of owls cooing and frogs in the pond could be heard all over the forest. Time seemed to have froze and all the animals in the forest waiting for me to make my decision. That was the power of the Alpha, my every decision paramount to an entire pack’s way of life. At first, it was over-whelming to carry the weight of every decision I make knowing it can signify between life or death. Eventually, I became more comfortable with that responsibility. It no more felt like a burden, but more of a privilege to be entrusted by my pack to lead them.Unlike most alphas who usurped the throne, I was chosen not because of my bloodline but because the pack admired my leadership skills and my progressive way of reasoning. So, before I make any decision, I make sure that I can live with consequences or the aftermath. However, today felt different. Usually, it was not even worth considering. Rogues were among the bottom list in the ra

AuroraMy heartbeat kept pacing rapidly. The tension was at its peak. Raven had already assumed her defensive stance and was preparing to transform. She used her hands to guide me behind her back. The sun was dwindling, the leaves rustling with shadows lurking with their wolf eyes.“Come out of the bushes now!” Raven snapped. Moments later, some wolves, looking washed up and ragged, slowly stepped. They were three in number, yet their aura was not intimidating in any manner. Instead, they looked highly malnourished and dehydrated. They sluggishly stepped forward, closer to us.“Transform back to your human forms immediately, or I’ll be forced to make a move!” Raven said in a sharp tone. She remained on high alert, watching their every move. Her demeanor didn’t change as she gazed at them deeply. She shot them a glare as they appeared to be reluctant to transform back. Raven clenched her fists to take a warrior's stand. The gray dull colored wolves suddenly hastened up to transform int

AuroraI woke up early in the morning just as the dawn broke. I met Raven, all dressed up in sporting gear, showing her incredible physique. I looked at my oversized tracksuits and worn-out sneakers. I held the tip of my fingers, feeling quite shy. Raven spotted me and gave a warm smile, which surprisingly comforted me.“Let’s go…Aurora.” Raven gestured with her hand for me to come closer. I hurried my footsteps to meet her. “Good morning, Raven. Where are we going so early? I asked in a calm voice. Raven curved her lips slightly.“We’ll be going through the forest to improve your endurance. You wanna get stronger, right?” She asked with a serious tone.I nodded in approval after the conversation with Cameron on what qualities attract Darius. I want to be a strong and reliable partner whom he can depend on. “I will become his one and only Luna,” I mumbled to myself. We set out of the palace just the two of us without any bodyguards or she-wolves. After the incident, Raven began to tr

EmberI watched the hunky figure of Damon get dressed and headed out of the room. I watched his retreating figure open the door handle. As he opened the door handle, a little glimmer hope crept into my mind that he will look back towards me before heading out. “Turn around…pls” I whispered quietly to myself, My breath was caught in my throat. However, he marched out of the room without glancing back at me. He shut the door behind him with brute force that it made a thunderous sound that echoed in my sad heart. My eyes welled up in tears as it flowed down my cheeks effortlessly. Moments later, I snapped out of my daze and rushed out of the bed to wear a full- length purple gown. I regained myself and re-called Damon saying he has a meeting with my father. “What does Daddy want to discuss with the Alpha so urgently?’ I pondered to myself. I remember venting to him on the tension between Damon and I went I last visited him at our family estate, although I wasn’t expecting him to meet
