Chapter 6

After work, Axel texted Cade and Sam that he was not joining them at the forest. Today Axel planned to have his wolf shift home, after all, the troublesome wolf seemed to no longer want to hunt. So he had ordered meat from Sam for it to eat and night and if he wanted to run, he could run in the second forest of his backyard mansion.

As he got ready to shift and let his wolf take control, his chef entered bringing the plates of delicious fresh raw meat for his wolf to feast on tonight.

“Thanks Anton,” Axel said to him, Anton was the only person that Axel trusted to handle his food without poisoning it.

“My pleasure sire,” Anton replied walking over to place the last plate with a mountain of meat. But as he did, Axel found himself freezing as he smelt that scent again!

What the hell he wondered!

First it had been Cade, then Sam and now his own chef too!

Dread filled him as he wondered if he was developing an attraction for men! As far as he knew he liked women very much. But that dang scent it was stirring something primal within him and leaving him damn confused!

He quickly decided to hold his breath instead. But the reaction of his wolf was different, he could him on the back of his head shaking his tail excitedly as if he knew the scent.

And with no warning, Axel was surprised as his wolf took over as if he had somewhere to be.

As for Anton, he was left stunned as his king`s glorious wolf did not even sniff or try out the delicious meat he had prepared. Instead the powerful and most feared wolf let out a deadly low warning growl for him to move out of the way and not follow. Causing Anton to immediately show submission, lowering his head and moving aside while fearing for his life, as his King`s wolf Damon was unpredictable. If he decided to kill you right then and there he would. Flashing his deadly pointed teeth, to show domination, he then jumped out of the high window, shattering it into pieces and was gone~

Selena`s pov

As I walked home, I continued staring at the fence, hoping wolfie would jump out from there again. Today I had come prepared, with some dog treats for him.

What can I say I was desperate for a pet companion.

I felt a bit disappointment as I waited some more near the fence but there was no movement.

“Wolfie?” I called out. Yes I had decided to name him that since I was still unsure if he was a wolf or just an abnormal sized dog. Maybe he was a wolf-dog hybrid.

But there was nothing. Maybe he really was gone forever. Maybe I should have treated him a bit nicely yesterday. I sadly thought to myself.

So I turned and continued walking, but just as I was about to reach the gate of my house, I paused in my steps. This was upon hearing the wonderful howling and sounds of something running towards.

Turning around with delighted smile, there he was my giant midnight black wolf.

He quickly jumped on me, and I was laughing while running my hands through his beautiful coat of black filled fur with him shaking his tail. He really was just as excited as I was to see him.

After we played a bit right there on the grass, I finally sat up and handed out the dog treats I had bought.

“Wolfie, I got them for you,” I said waiting to see if he would like them. I realized that I had to also buy dog food, bowls and for water too. I could not stomach knowing he was going hungry out there. Because this was the city, there had to be less wildlife for him.

I found myself now overprotective of him too.

He first sniffed at the treats giving them a weird look. But as he saw the eager look in my eyes, as if not wanting to disappoint me, he munched on one of them and swallowed.

I finally stood up and he quickly walked right to me.

“I hope your day was just as good as mine,” I found myself speaking and conversing with him, telling him about my day. It was nice having someone to talk to, even if they were animal and would not understand a word.

He stayed outside by his spot as I entered the house. I got packing, placing my clothes from earlier morning into the closet. Then also took a bath.

But after I finished changing into my pajamas, my eyes widened as I heard rain start falling from outside.

“Wolfie!” I thought running to the door to check up on him.

To my shock, he was not even running away to go find cover in the trees, but continued staying there on the spot with his coat getting wet.

“Wolfie come in right now!” I worriedly shouted for him to come inside and he gave me surprised wolf eyes. But still got up and walked over. I could not have him getting sick.

“Just don’t mess the house and if you need to do doggy business, I have left the door open okay,” I warned, hoping I was not making a mistake. But I could not leave him outside in the cold rain.

He first shook his wet fur by the porch before entering.

I quickly rushed with some towels and dried him up.

I first made some food, I made noodles for myself because I was lazy to cook super for one person. Then for wolfie I opened a canned beef and he happily ate it. He seemed to just eat whatever I gave him and I liked that, he was not a picky eater and would not hurt my budget much. After that we sat by the fireplace, with him laying his head on my leg as I read a book. As my hands perused through that beautiful soft fur, my eyes widened as I noticed a scar.

“Aww what happened here, poor wolfie,” I commented staring at how deep the old scar was. It must have been one hell of a fight, maybe with other wolves.

He instead just continued laying there, purring from my touch. Thunder boomed loudly and scarily from outside and I was glad to have him here with me. I felt less afraid and calmer from his presence. Taking out my phone, I quickly took a quickie selfie of me and wolfie, saving it as my phone screen.

Soon I fell asleep, laying my head on his warm fur and hugging the big wolf as if he was my teddy bear.
