It’s been a blissful few days with Nadia. We were locked in my bed chamber exploring one another’s bodies and getting to know one another as mates. We had to emerge from my bed chambers so that no one get too suspicious. A few days of a master having fun with his bed slave doesn’t raise too much suspicion. More than that and Nadia will be accused of bewitching me, or something stupid. If they knew she was my mate no one would question how long we were locked in our bed chambers. In fact, they’d be happy thinking we were attempting to produce an heir.

Unfortunately, no one can know yet that we are mates, but the time is coming soon. I also have preparations to make for our travels. I need a suit and Nadia will need a dress. I’ve taken measurements and sent them to a dress tailor to have her something made. I asked Nadia what color she might want, material, and design, but she didn’t offer much. I think such fine things intimidate her.

    The council meeting went by in a long blur. It ended with the council divided. Half of them didn’t care that I was a rogue slave, they were hyper focused on my lycan hertage because Maddox and I will give birth to children with the most lycan blood seen in decades. The other half cared very much about me being a rogue slave and believe I can’t be trusted. The meeting ended inclusive and there will be several more meetings before the council will officially back me as Maddox’s mate.     I know I haven't updated this book in a while. My pregnancy got complicated and I ended up in the hospital and had an early delivery. I've also had a bit of writer's block with this story but that doesn't mean I've given up on it. I'm trying to finish up Alpha's fated Omega and then I will be focusing on this story for this app. I have one story I'm working on for another app and then stories that get published on Am*z*n. Plus I'm finding a new balance with four year old twins and a newborn. So please be patient with me. I promise I will be getting updates in this story ASAP. My goal is to have the other story finished by the end Feb and then focus on this story. Thank you for patience and reader ship.

    I’m having breakfast with Nadia and her mom. Nadia is beaming, and I’m happy that she has found her mom. I hope to help them find her father, but if he had let anyone know about his lycan heritage, he would have been killed. The chances that he survived are slim. Male rogue slaves tend to be killed within the first few years of servitude for one reason or another. They are assigned hard and tedious work. They are often used as training dummies for the warriors of the pack and sustain severe injuries. The females are different. They are assigned to work in the kitchens as maids and personal maids to a high-ranking female. They are used as sex slaves and sometimes as breeders if the high-ranking male’s mate fails to produce an heir. Either way, rogue slaves are mistreated, but hopefully, I will be able to abolish slavery and make peace with the rogues.     I wake up to Maddox’s strong arms wrapped around me. I sigh, content that I’m with my mate. Last night it was so nice being out in public with Maddox. I was nervous, but it felt good to not hide. Everyone knows I’m Maddox’s mate, including his family. I thought for sure they would make a scene at the ball, but they didn’t. I know they aren’t happy about it, but so far, they have been quiet, which makes me nervous. Today we go to the council.     I stand by the door of the bathroom. I’m nervous to leave Nadia on her own. Not that she can’t handle herself, I know she feels out of her element. She won’t always feel that way, but right now everything is fresh and new. I hear Caroline’s voice in the ladies room. My wolf wants to barge in and protect Nadia, but I reign him and control myself. I’m glad I held back because listening to my Luna stand her ground and put Caroline in her place make me proud. I knew she could stand up for herself. I always wondered why she never did it to the other slaves and servants. I think she was trying to keep her head down and do her job, but now everything has changed for her.     As Maddox and I head down to the ball, I take as many deep breaths as possible to calm my frying nerves. It’s time to be introduced as Maddox’s mate. I’m terrified that the higher-ranking wolves are going to eat me alive. I know I studied, but I’m not sure it’s enough to pull off sophistication. I do look amazing, and Maddox hasn’t stopped telling me so. I feel beautiful for the first time in my life, but then again, I’ve only ever worn slave clothes. I guess I have to get used to wearing nice clothes and being around higher-ranking wolves. Maddox and I approach the double doors that will lead to the ballroom.
