Chapter 20- Maddox

I stand by the door of the bathroom. I’m nervous to leave Nadia on her own. Not that she can’t handle herself, I know she feels out of her element. She won’t always feel that way, but right now everything is fresh and new. I hear Caroline’s voice in the ladies room. My wolf wants to barge in and protect Nadia, but I reign him and control myself.

I’m glad I held back because listening to my Luna stand her ground and put Caroline in her place make me proud. I knew she could stand up for herself. I always wondered why she never did it to the other slaves and servants. I think she was trying to keep her head down and do her job, but now everything has changed for her.

She’s no long a slave who has to keep her head down. She is a Luna who can keep her head held high. I also think learning her family history, the truth as to why her family became rogues has empowered her. I think now she is more determined to fix things and we can do that together.
