Ben Gets Jules to Accept

Jules was struggling with the entire idea of mating. She’d seen what mating did to her father. Her mother fled from him. She was sure it was because of how he changed after mating.

No wait. That’s not what Tyler claimed. He claimed she was dead. It explained why she could find no trace of her mother. The very thought made her want to cry. She may not have known her mother, but she wanted to. No, she needed to know her.

This was part of what bonded her friendship with Rose. They both grew up with fathers who couldn’t stand to look at them, and missing mothers. There weren’t even pictures of their mothers around the packhouse.

Now Ben expected her to accept him as the one and only male in her life. She was used to finding her entertainment wherever she wanted and with whoever. This meant she controlled the encounters from beginning to end. That’s what Jules liked. Now he had a say in every aspect of her life. Gods. This was a mess.
