Rosemary

I woke up in the same bedroom as before, my head pounding like someone was taking a sledgehammer to my brain. Groaning, I sat up, pressing my palms against my temples, trying to ease the throbbing pain. Everything felt heavy, as if the weight of last night’s revelations had settled into my bones. As I blinked the fog from my eyes, I noticed Nathaniel sitting in a chair in the room’s corner, his posture tense, as though he’d been waiting for me to wake up.

“You’re up,” he said, his voice soft, filled with concern. “How are you feeling?”

“Like I drank 10 gallons of tequila,” I muttered, rubbing my temples. The pounding in my head made it hard to think straight, let alone process everything that had been thrown at me the night before.

Nathaniel laughed, the sound warm but tinged with nervousness. “I stayed with you all night. I was worried.”

His words hit me like a punch in the gut. Worried? He should be concerned, alright. Everything I’d been told last night felt like some twisted nightmare, and the fact that I couldn’t wake up from it only made it worse.

“You should be worried!” I snapped, the frustration bubbling to the surface. “This is the worst prank ever!”

Nathaniel’s expression softened, and then he stood, walking over to the bed. He sat down beside me, close enough that I could feel the warmth radiating from him. His eyes locked onto mine, steady and serious in a way that made my heart skip. “Mer, this is not a joke. I wish I could tell you it is, but it’s not.”

I stared at him, my mind swirling with disbelief. How could this not be a joke? Werewolves? Is my entire life a lie? It was too much to handle, too absurd to even consider. But the look in Nathaniel’s eyes told me he wasn’t lying. He was dead serious.

He hesitated for a moment, as if choosing his words carefully, then spoke again. “Come with me, please.”

“Where are we going?” I asked, my voice wary. I wasn’t sure I wanted to know the answer.

“You’ll see,” he said simply, standing up and holding his hand out to me. There was no hesitation in his eyes, only a quiet determination that made me nervous.

Reluctantly, I took his hand, feeling the warmth of his skin against mine. His grip was firm but gentle, and for a brief moment, I felt a flicker of comfort in his touch. He led me out of the room, down the long corridors of the mansion, and then out into the fresh morning air.

We walked through the woods, the sound of our footsteps muffled by the thick layer of leaves on the ground. The forest was dense, with towering trees that seemed to swallow us whole. Nathaniel held my hand the entire time, his silence unnerving, as if he were preparing for something. I wanted to ask him what we were doing, where we were going, but I was too overwhelmed to form the words.

Finally, he stopped, glancing around as if to make sure we were far enough from the house. The air felt different here - still, charged, like something was about to happen. Nathaniel dropped my hand and turned to face me, his expression unreadable.

“What are you doing?” I asked, a strange sense of unease creeping into my voice.

“You’ll see,” he said again, his voice low.

Without another word, Nathaniel started to undress. My heart raced as he pulled off his shirt, revealing the contours of his muscular body. I’d always known he was beautiful, but seeing him like this, so vulnerable and raw, made me feel something deeper, something I couldn’t quite name.

But then things changed. I heard it - the sound of bones cracking, popping, like something breaking and reforming inside him. His skin rippled, shifting, as his body began to transform. His nose elongated, his face stretching into something more animal than human. Thick gray fur sprouted across his skin, and his eyes… they turned bright orange, glowing in the morning light.

I took a step back, bumping against a tree, my heart slamming against my ribs. This wasn’t possible. This couldn’t be real. But before my mind could catch up, the transformation was complete.

Standing before me wasn’t Nathaniel anymore. It was a massive gray wolf, his fur sleek and his eyes, those same bright orange eyes, locking onto mine. My breath caught in my throat as the wolf padded toward me, slow and cautious, its snout nudging my hand gently. His warmth, the softness of his fur beneath my fingers… it was all so real.

I hesitated, my heart pounding in my chest, but something inside me shifted. Slowly, I reached out and ran my fingers through his fur, feeling the powerful muscles beneath his coat. This wasn’t a dream. This wasn’t some elaborate joke. This was real.

For a few minutes, I stood there in awe, petting the wolf who had been my best friend for years. The disbelief was still there, but so was the wonder. This was the most incredible thing I had ever witnessed, and part of me couldn’t help but marvel at it.

Then, just as quickly as he had changed, I began to hear the crackling of bones again. The wolf stepped back, and his body began to shift, contorting and shrinking until, within moments, Nathaniel stood before me once more. Naked, human, and very much real.

He met my gaze, his expression calm but expectant. “Do you believe me now?” he asked softly.

I swallowed hard, my mouth dry. The forest around us felt too quiet, too still, as if the world itself had paused, waiting for my response.

“Yes,” I laughed, my voice trembling. “I definitely do.”

Rosemary“So, I’m a werewolf as well?” I asked, my voice shaky, trying to make sense of the impossible. After watching Nathaniel transform before my eyes, my mind buzzed with a thousand questions, none of which seemed to have simple answers. This wasn’t something you could just accept.Nathaniel sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Yes, technically. But your wolf is asleep right now. It’s been that way since you were young.”“Asleep? Like, what does that even mean?” I muttered, still trying to wrap my head around the idea that there was… a wolf inside me, somehow.“Yeah, I know it’s a lot to take in,” he replied gently. “It’ll take time for everything to sink in, but you don’t need to understand it all at once. Right now, we should get you some clothes. You can’t keep wearing Grace’s stuff forever.”I glanced down at the outfit I had on - the tight shorts and low-cut top that made me feel like I was wearing someone else’s skin. It was hard not to feel out of place, as if I didn’t

EthanI descended the stairs, greeting the staff with brief nods as I made my way through the pack house. My mind was elsewhere, buzzing with thoughts of the past days, the weight of it all pressing on me. When I finally stepped outside, the crisp air hit my skin, grounding me in the present. I turned left and headed toward the nearest tree line, the familiar pull of the forest calling me. I needed a release, something to clear my head, and only one thing could do that.I stripped off my clothes, folding them neatly at the base of a tree before shifting. The change came quickly, bones cracking and reforming, fur sprouting as my wolf took over. It had been too long since I let him out, and I could feel his joy, his freedom, through our bond. The sensation was immediate - a rush of energy, raw and untamed. I sprinted through the forest, the trees blurring past as I let my instincts take over. My paws pounded the earth as I raced beyond the lake, heading for the farthest corner of the pr

RosemaryThe following day, I found myself sitting at the breakfast table with Nathaniel and Grace. The soft chatter of pack members filled the room, everyone greeting each other, exchanging pleasantries. My plate of food sat mostly untouched in front of me, but my attention wasn’t on it. I couldn’t stop staring at Ethan, who just walked in.There was something about him, something magnetic. I tried to be discreet, but I knew he noticed how my eyes flicked toward him. I could feel his gaze on me, too, intense and lingering. It was like there was this unspoken tension between us I didn’t understand, and yet, I couldn’t look away.Around us, I could hear pack members murmuring, “Good morning, Alpha,” as they passed by, nodding respectfully in his direction. Ethan took his seat next to Nathaniel, and soon the two of them were deep in conversation, discussing things that, to my surprise, sounded a lot like business.I couldn’t help myself. “Did I hear you guys talking about a company?” I

EthanAfter what I saw in the showers, my chest felt tight with an anger I had no right to feel. I should’ve walked away sooner, should’ve known better than to linger, but the image of Rosemary with someone else, so free, so wild, kept replaying in my mind. She doesn’t know; I reminded myself. She doesn’t feel the bond yet, doesn’t even realize what she means to me, and yet, the jealousy twisted in my gut, hot and irrational. She’s my mate. Mine.I couldn’t get the thought out of my head, even though it was unfair, even though it wasn’t my place to be angry. She didn’t know. How could she? She hadn’t even sensed her wolf yet, and I slept with Amber recently. I had no claim on her. Even so, my wolf growled in frustration, clawing at the edges of my control. I felt like I was on the verge of breaking something, anything, just to release the tension.I was heading up the stairs to the fifth floor, determined to cool off in my room, when a hand suddenly grabbed my shoulder. RosemaryI wasn’t entirely sure what had just happened between Ethan and me, but the moment felt unfinished, as if we had reached some invisible line. Then, he bolted, leaving me there with more questions than answers. When he had come so close, I thought for a moment, hoped, maybe, that he might kiss me. But then he turned away, and the connection between us dissolved as quickly as it had sparked. Was it just the lingering rush of hormones from earlier, or was there something more?Either way, I didn’t want to dwell on it. Not now.Feeling restless, I went back to my room. The weight of everything I’d been through in the past week pressed down on me. It had only been a few days, but it felt like years had passed since my world had been turned upside down. I lay on the bed, mindlessly scrolling through my phone for hours. Eventually, I noticed the missed calls, unread texts - all from Nathaniel, checking in, ensuring I was okay. I glanced at the last message:Headed away to dinner. I’

  • The Rose Luna   Chapter 14

EthanI woke up just before dawn, the room still wrapped in the soft darkness of early morning. Rosemary lay beside me, her breathing steady, her body relaxed in sleep. For a moment, I just watched her, the peaceful rise and fall of her chest, the way her hair spilled across the pillow like fire. She looked so beautiful, so vulnerable, and it struck me just how much I wanted to protect her - to be the one she trusted, the one she turned to.But I knew what we had done last night had been a mistake. Not because I didn’t want her, Goddess, I wanted her more than anything, but because I hadn’t told her the truth. The truth about the mate bond, about what we were to each other. She didn’t know, and yet, I had crossed a line. My wolf had been pushing me ever since she arrived, demanding that I claim her, that I acknowledge her as mine. The mate bond was too powerful, too overwhelming for either of us to ignore for much longer. And last night, when I looked into her eyes, I couldn’t resist

RosemaryI spent the entire day trying not to think about Ethan, which was apparently much more challenging than it seemed. No matter what I did, no matter how much I wanted to distract myself, my mind kept drifting back to last night. I could still feel his touch, the weight of his body against mine, the way his eyes had burned into me, full of something deeper than I could comprehend.I hung out with Nathaniel most of the day, grateful for his company and the easy distraction he provided. But even then, thoughts of Ethan kept creeping in, unbidden and persistent. It didn’t help when Nathaniel mentioned he’d be heading to the office to help Ethan and wouldn’t be back until late. Just hearing his name made my chest tighten. After Nathaniel left, I wandered around the property aimlessly, my thoughts a mess. I considered finding the girl from the other day, anything to keep my mind occupied, but as I neared the lake, something else caught my attention. A figure moving slowly by the wate

NathanielIt was late when Ethan and I finally returned to the packhouse. The day had been long, filled with pack duties and endless conversations about business, and by the time we parted ways, exhaustion was clawing at me. I watched Ethan climb the stairs to the fifth floor, his figure disappearing into the shadows of the hallway. The sound of his door closing echoed faintly, a small reassurance that he was settled for the night.I lingered for a moment, my heart beating a little faster, my mind already racing ahead to what I was about to do. The fourth floor belonged to me, reserved for the Beta and his family, but tonight, I won’t be staying there.Once I was sure Ethan was out of sight, I moved swiftly. Quietly, I slipped down the stairs and out of the back of the house. The cool night air hit my skin, sharp and refreshing, as I made my way to the woods. I ducked behind a large bush, stripping out of my clothes and hiding them beneath the leaves. The anticipation hummed through m

EthanAs Nathaniel and Liam’s kiss ended, they leaned into each other, their foreheads touching, lost in the intimate silence of their love. The clearing was filled with the sounds of cheering, laughter, and celebration, but at that moment, it felt like time stood still for them. I moved forward, ready to embrace my best friend and share his joy, but the atmosphere suddenly shifted. A loud scream pierced the air, shattering the peaceful moment.I whipped around and saw Rose on her knees, her arms wrapped tightly around herself, her face contorted in pain. Fear gripped me, my heart pounding as I sprinted toward her. By the time I reached her, she had collapsed, unconscious, her body limp in my arms.“Rose!” I shouted, my voice thick with panic. I gathered her into my arms, her skin cold against mine, her breathing shallow. My pulse raced as I felt a crowd gathering around us, their murmurs blending into a distant hum, but the only thing that mattered was the woman in my arms. Her face,

  • The Rose Luna   Chapter 48

Rosemary Today was Nathaniel and Liam’s wedding, a day the pack had eagerly awaited. The air was filled with excitement, love, and joy, but I couldn’t shake the unease building inside me. I had been feeling unwell since the morning, but I did my best to push through, wanting to be present for Nathaniel’s big day. Grace, always the multitasker, had taken on the role of wedding planner and was rushing around to ensure every detail was perfect. I tried to help where I could, but my body felt heavier, weaker than usual. The ceremony was set to take place in a secluded clearing deep within the forest, a place that seemed to be kissed by nature itself. As I made my way closer to the clearing, the breathtaking beauty of it all hit me. The sunlight filtered gently through the towering trees, casting a golden glow on the vibrant greenery that surrounded us. Wildflowers bloomed at the edges of the clearing, their bright colors contrasting with the deep greens of the forest. The smell of pine a

  • The Rose Luna   Chapter 47

DylanA strange quiet was settled over the pack, the kind that didn’t bring peace. It was the calm before the storm, the air thick with tension as we all waited for Andromeda to make her move. No one said it outright, but I knew everyone could feel it - like a predator circling, just out of sight. I had been in enough battles to know that this kind of stillness isn’t natural; it’s calculated. And if I could feel it, I knew Ethan did, too.Ethan’s always carried the pack’s weight on his shoulders, but lately, it has been different. There was a heaviness in him that wasn’t there before, like he was wrestling with shadows I couldn’t see. I was used to his relentless work ethic, the way he poured himself into every detail of running this pack. But it was more than that now. He was pushing himself harder, training with a single-minded intensity that would be impressive if it weren’t so worrying. I didn’t think he had slept a whole night in weeks.Last week, I caught him out in the training

  • The Rose Luna   Chapter 46

RosemaryIt had been four months since that night by the creek, the night I drank Amber’s potion, sealing away a choice I didn’t fully understand. I hadn’t dared return to that spot - not even once. The memory of it haunted me, the way the moon had hung so heavily, casting an eerie glow on the water as I swallowed the bitter liquid that was supposed to end everything. Since that night, I had felt different, altered in some intangible way, as though I had stepped into a shadow that followed me everywhere, clinging to my skin.My body betrayed me daily. Fatigue sank deep into my bones, the kind of exhaustion that sleep could never touch. No matter how many hours I slept, I always woke feeling as if I’d been carrying a weight all night. Even the simplest tasks left me winded, my muscles ached as though I’d run for miles. Every step felt heavy, as if invisible chains weighed down my feet. Something was wrong, and yet, I couldn’t find the will to question it. I had made a decision that nig

  • The Rose Luna   Chapter 45

RosemaryThe night of the full moon arrived, and I brewed the tea Amber had given me in a thermos, the bitter herbs swirling together like an ink-stained solution to all the chaos swirling inside me. As I stepped out into the cool night, I felt the familiar pull of my wolf, that instinctive desire to shift under the full moon, to let go and run wild through the forest. The urge was powerful, stronger than ever before, but I couldn’t give in tonight. Not until this was done. The moon hung high in the sky, bathing the woods in silver light, casting shadows that danced as I made my way to the creek I had found on my first shift. It was fitting, I thought, to return to the place where I had first felt the raw power of my wolf - where I had first realized what I truly was. But tonight wasn’t about connecting with my wolf. It was about taking back control.I arrived at the creek, the air cool and crisp against my skin. I sat beneath the familiar tree, the same tree that had given me comfort

RosemaryThe heavy fog in my brain slowly began to lift. It was like clawing my way out of a deep, suffocating pit, but eventually, I found my way back to consciousness. My body felt weak, like I had been wrung out and left to dry. My throat felt raw, as if I had swallowed sand, and when I tried to speak, no sound came out. My eyelids fluttered open, but the light was too bright, stabbing into my eyes, forcing me to shut them again.I tried again, this time more slowly. As my vision cleared, I saw him - Ethan. He was sitting in a chair right next to the bed, his head resting on the edge of the mattress. His face was peaceful, his chest rising and falling softly as he slept. A faint snore escaped his lips. Even in sleep, he looked so protective, so close.I didn’t want to wake him, but I shifted just enough to make him stir. His eyes opened immediately, concern flashing across his face the moment he saw me awake.“Rose, you’re awake!” His voice was filled with a mixture of relief and a

EthanI sat beside her hospital bed, my heart pounding in my chest. The cold, sterile atmosphere of the hospital was suffocating. The rhythmic beeping of the machines was the only sound breaking the silence, but all I could focus on was her - Rose, lying there, looking so small, so fragile. This wasn’t her. The woman I knew was a firestorm, full of life and strength. But now, her skin was pale, her lips cracked, and she looked like she was made of glass, ready to shatter at any moment.I leaned forward, brushing a strand of hair from her face. Her skin felt cool to the touch, much too cold. A lump formed in my throat as I struggled to contain the rising fear. I had never felt so helpless. I, the Alpha, the one who always had to be strong, was now at the mercy of fate - waiting, hoping, praying.Where had I gone wrong? How could I not have known? I replayed the last few weeks in my head over and over. Maybe I should have noticed she was more tired than usual. Maybe I should have stoppe

  • The Rose Luna   Chapter 42

EthanAfter a long, exhausting day in the office, all I wanted was to crawl into bed next to Rose. Being near her had become something I couldn’t live without. Her warmth, her presence - it was all that allowed me to truly rest. But when I knocked on her door, there was no answer. I tried again. Still nothing.A strange unease crept into my chest. I turned the handle and opened the door to find the room cold and dark. A quick glance revealed the impromptu art studio she’d been using was untouched. Something wasn’t right. I decided to wait for her, assuming she’d show up soon, and sat down on the bed, scrolling through work emails on my phone. Slowly, exhaustion won, and I drifted into an uneasy sleep.A while later, I stirred awake. The room was still dark, and her side of the bed remained untouched. Panic started to gnaw at me. A quick glance at my phone told me it was 2 a.m. I tried to link Rose through the pack-link, but there was no response. I tried again. Still nothing. The knot

  • The Rose Luna   Chapter 41

RosemaryIn the early afternoon, I received a mind-link from Dr. Bella asking me to come to the hospital wing. All day, my mind had been spinning with the possibility of being pregnant, and the concept of becoming a mother. The thought terrified me. I had never had a role model for a loving family, and the idea of creating one of my own felt foreign, almost impossible. The doctors had once told me I couldn’t have children, and I had accepted that. It felt like a decision had been made for me, a choice I never had to face. But now? I wasn’t sure if I was more scared or excited - or both.On the way to the infirmary, Ethan caught up with me. I tried to keep things casual, dodging his concern.“I’m just checking this stomach bug,” I said with a forced smile. “Nothing serious.”“Okay, love,” he replied, his eyes soft with concern. “Just let me know if you need anything.”I nodded as he turned and walked toward his office. Watching him disappear, I felt a pang of guilt. When I arrived at t
