Chapter 12

The night carried an unusual cool breeze, the atmosphere was just the perfect one for anyone to release whatever was in his mind. He sat behind his massive desk, an air of impatience and frustration surrounding him. The investigators he had hired, the one he had pinned his hopes on, was proving to be less efficient than he had anticipated. He only hoped that the one he had secretly hired would be effective and efficient.

Alexander's phone buzzed on the polished surface of his desk, and he quickly picked it up. The caller ID indicated that it was the new investigator he had recently employed.

"I can hear you, speak," Alexander commanded, his voice a low.

The investigator's voice came through the line, filled with a mix of determination and a hint of apology. "Mr. Alexander, I've received some new information. It appears that the woman you're looking for may be residing in the same city where I conducted my recent investigations. I'm confident that we're getting closer to finding her."
