Amelia's POV

An email address and a phone number suddenly flashed across the screen.

My mouth nearly hung wide open. Gasps rippled through the audience because everyone knew it wasn't a demo account. It belonged to a user.

The engineer's face drained of color. He immediately closed the window and tried logging in again but another user's information appeared.

This time, it was worse. There was a name and part of a private account profile.

My fingers tightened around the tablet.

Amelia's POVWhen I got to work the next day, that was when I finally understood what Grey meant.First of all, the moment I stepped inside, I was met with something I hadn't expected.Applause.I stopped dead in my tracks. My usual cold and nonchalant coworkers, the same people who barely acknowledged me unless they needed something, were suddenly smiling, clapping, and cheering like I had just won a million-dollar lottery.I blinked, looking from one face to another. What the hell was going on?Their smiles looked genuine too. There was no trace of the usual indifference I'd grown accustomed to. No one was looking at me like I was an inexperienced employee who had somehow managed to sneak into a position above her level.Instead, they looked proud.I shifted my handbag higher on my shoulder, completely thrown off by the attention.“What's... going on?” I asked, my voice coming out more uncertain than I intended. Before anyone could answer, Cameron rushed toward me with something in

Amelia’s POVEven beneath the dim hallway lights, I could see him clearly.Grey.I could smell the familiar, masculine scent of his cologne before I could even process the fact that he was standing right in front of me. His sky-blue eyes were fixed on mine, hard and unyielding, as if I had committed some unforgivable crime. He was still wearing the same clothes from the office. For a moment, I couldn't understand what he was doing here.Shouldn't he have been somewhere celebrating the successful app launch? The silence between us stretched. Neither of us moved. But inside me, everything was anything but still. My heart thudded painfully against my ribs, and I had to remind myself to breathe. The tension rolling off him seemed to fill the narrow hallway, leaving barely enough room for me to think. He was only a few inches away. Far too close to me.I swallowed and forced myself to steady my breathing.“So you kept your identity hidden all this time while you were still coming close to

Amelia's POVJeffrey was standing beside his car, waiting patiently for me.The moment I stepped outside, I spotted him. He was dressed casually in a striped shirt and dark jeans, looking surprisingly relaxed compared to how I usually saw him at work. When he noticed me, he straightened and pushed himself away from the car.I walked toward him, my heels clicking against the gravel with every step.As soon as I got close, he opened his arms, clearly expecting a hug.I hesitated for half a second before stepping into it. I didn't want to make him feel like I was ignoring him.“How have you been?” I asked, giving his back a few light pats before pulling away.“I've been good.” He smiled. “I got my job back.”“That's good.”I nodded, genuinely pleased for him.At least something good had come out of everything. Maybe Grey had pulled some strings behind the scenes and helped him get his position back.“So…” Jeffrey glanced around for a moment before looking at me again. His voice softened

Someone behind me whispered, “what the hell?”The lewd engineer immediately signaled for the presentation to be paused. People began moving around the stage and engineers rushed toward the laptops. One of the project managers grabbed his phone and started making calls. The investors were no longer whispering. They were watching. And Grey…Grey stood up with his eyes fixed on the screen.“Is this happening on the live build?” I heard one of the engineers ask.“Yes.” Another replied in a panicked voice.“Then k

Amelia's POV When I opened my eyes again, Grey was sitting in front of me.He had a pen between his fingers, turning it slowly as if he had all the time in the world. His shirt was still on, but most of the buttons were undone, exposing the hard planes of his chest and the defined lines of his abs.My gaze dropped before I could stop it.He didn't look anything like the composed CEO I knew. There was something almost dangerous about seeing him like this—relaxed, unguarded, and far too attractive for my own good. His legs were crossed, his expression unreadable. Then his eyes lifted and locked straight onto mine.Heat rushed into my face, and I immediately looked away, suddenly fascinated by the blanket covering me.That was when everything came back to me.I was in my room. And Grey sitting beside me.I pushed myself upright, confusion twisting through my stomach.“Wait.” My voice came out rough. “How did you get in?”I barely got the words out before Grey stood. The chair scraped ag

Amelia's POV“You’re…”He was about to say something, but I didn't give him the chance. I slammed the door in his face and immediately leaned against it, my entire body going rigid. My heart hammered against my ribs, and my knees felt so weak I wasn't sure they would hold me up.What the hell had I just done? The regret hit almost instantly.I should have kept my composure. I should have looked at him with a blank expression and pretended he had the wrong apartment.Instead, I'd panicked and practically confirmed everything. How the hell did he know where I lived? And worse, how had he found the exact apartment?A sharp knock came from the other side of the door.I squeezed my eyes shut.He was going to tell Grey that the masked woman he'd been looking for was me.“Shit,” I muttered under my breath, stomping my foot once against the floor. Why was this happening now?Of all times.Grey was supposed to come to the company tomorrow. Tomorrow was the app launch, and there was no way the
