~CIARA~

The ride to Alpha Graham’s house was quiet to the point of suffocation. He wasn’t saying anything, and my mind was stupidly replaying the moment he said ‘you belong to me now’  like I was just property to be owned. Fidgeting with my fingers, I stole a quick glance at him, and he seemed rather relaxed. Like he’d done this a million times. Like this was just another chore he wanted to get over with. He’s used to this, but I just had my whole life flipped over like a damn bus.

I was no longer Ciara Norman.

I was now Ciara Graham.

And the thought of that made my whole body tense.

After driving for what I’d call hours from my pack, the car finally slowed to a stop before a massive, black gate. My eyes widened when the gates opened to reveal a pack house that screamed order and power and every other thing Alpha Graham represented. It looked completely different from where I came from. More structured. More furnished.

I stole another glance at him.

How much money does this man have?

The driver hurried to open the door for Alpha Graham first, and the moment he stepped out, all the maids bowed their heads in fear.

Praying to the Moongoddess I don’t trip over my wedding dress again, I carefully stepped out of the car, eyes taking in my unfamiliar surroundings. Then a mocking voice made me halt.

“So, this is the breeder?”

My head snapped up to meet a young man’s gaze. He was leaning against the wall, arms crossed over his chest, eyes scrutinizing every tiny expression on my face. He looked like the younger version of Alpha Graham, perhaps around my age, and the coldness in his blue eyes made my stomach drop through the fucking floor.

Those same eyes dragged over me slowly before he smirked. “At least she’s prettier than the others.”

“Killan,” Alpha Graham warned.

“What?” He lifted his both hands innocently, pushing his body off the wall as he approached us. He was nearly the same height as Alpha Graham. “I’m just welcoming your wife.”  He then paused before me. “I’m Killan Graham, Alpha Graham’s younger brother.”

I sucked in a shaky breath. “It’s nice to meet you.”

“You think?” His eyes glowed with a dangerous glint, “trust me, it won’t be.”

Perhaps I could have escaped from home when I had the chance.

I wouldn’t have to deal with this.

Alpha Graham stepped up beside me, his expression unreadable, “she needs to be prepared for the banquet.”

Killan snorted. “You’re really going through with this?”

“I don’t remember asking for your opinion.”

Killan’s jaw clenched. “We all know how this is going to end,” he nodded in my direction, clearly referring to me. “And judging from how spooked she looks, she doesn’t know about the others.”

Others?

What others?”

“She doesn’t need to know.”

I looked up at Alpha Graham. “But—”

“Get my wife ready for the banquet,” Alpha Graham’s voice cut me off. He was referring to the maid who stood on the side.

The maid bowed her head. “Yes, Alpha.”

Pushing the thoughts about ‘the others’  at the back of my mind, I followed the maid inside the pack house. My skin prickled with unease when each woman stared at me with pity. Including the kids.

Do I look that pathetic?

The maid closed the door gently the moment we entered the massive room. She finally looked at me properly, and the sympathy in her eyes made me frightened.

“Is there something you all are not telling me?” I forced out. “About Alpha Graham?”

She shook her head. “Nothing.”

“Nothing?”

She ignored me and started to get me ready for the banquet. She spent nearly two hours making sure I looked perfect enough to stand by the Alpha’s side. She had a proud smile on her face, the kind Giselle always had each time she did an extremely perfect job. “You look so stunning.”

I stared at the reflection of the woman that looked nothing like me. Heavy make-up that hid my eye bags and the bruises on my neck, hair pulled in a messy bun with some loose strands grazing my cheeks. I do look stunning, but I also feel trapped.

Is it too late to back out of this?

The sharp knock on the door made me jump.

“Alpha Graham is waiting,” someone said softly.

“We have to leave now,” the maid smiled at me. “We can’t keep the Alpha waiting.”

She tried to help me up but I remained sitting, refusing to stand.

Her brows furrowed. “Is something wrong?”

I fought the burn in my eyes. I thought I could do this. I thought getting married to Alpha Graham, the man feared across packs, wasn't a completely bad idea. I thought I was going to feel safer here, but it felt like I was being prepared for something dreadful.

Everyone seemed to know something, but I was the only one left in the dark.

I closed my hand around the maid’s palm. “I can’t do this.”

She panicked. “But the Alpha—”

“Help me escape. Please.”

~HAYES~ Ciara nodded slowly, but I saw the defiance in her eyes. Most people lowered their heads when I threatened them. Most people trembled or obeyed or submitted because they literally had no choice. But not her.Even now, standing with her back pressed against the railing while my hand held her jaw in place, there was still fire buried deep inside her.And my wolf loved it.“Mine.” Kyle growled in my head. His possessiveness was on another level. I released her abruptly before I did something reckless like drag her upstairs and claim every inch of her skin until the whole pack understood she belonged to me.Ciara sucked in a shaky breath. She was afraid of me. And strangely, I hated it. I let my gaze drop to the sexy curve of her lips again before saying: “Let’s go, the pack members are waiting.”~~~~Pack members and guests bowed their heads in respect and fear the moment I stepped into the banquet hall. It was exactly how it should be. My father, before he died, told me you c

~CIARA~The maid’s face drained of color so fast, it almost made me regret asking. Her lips parted slowly, but no words came out. She looked like my request had triggered a trauma she was yet to recover from. She pulled her hand away from mine. “I..I can’t.”I should have dropped it. She looked uncomfortable enough. But that fueled my desire to get the hell out of here. I reached out for her palm again. “You have to help me. I can’t stay here if everyone keeps looking at me like I’m walking into my own grave.” She shook her head again. “You don’t understand. If Alpha Graham finds out I helped you escape, he’ll punish me.”The fear in her eyes broke me. She was terrified of this man. What kind of mess had I gotten myself into? What kind of man had I married? “Are you that scared of him?” I asked softly. “Everyone is.” She sighed. “You should go downstairs now. The Alpha really hates waiting.” I swallowed hard. Even after hearing her talk about being punished, I still wanted t

My breath caught in my throat.Husband? The word shouldn’t have affected me, but it did anyway. I forced myself to look away from Alpha Graham, but it felt impossible. There was something about his eyes—the way they effortlessly held me in place, like I needed his permission to move my own body.“Ciara!” My father’s harsh voice snapped me back to reality. “Apologies, Alpha Graham.” He lowered his head. “My daughter’s still learning to deal with her clumsiness.”Of course he was going to blame me. That was all he did—act like I was more of a burden than his first daughter. He never looked at me like I was truly his own. I was just a pawn in his hands. I stared at the white shoes Stephanie had borrowed me, keeping my head down because, as an omega, I couldn’t stare into an Alpha’s eyes. But Alpha Graham didn’t loosen his grip on me. He pushed up the sleeves of my dress and I panicked. I couldn’t let him see my scars. I instantly wrapped my fingers around the sleeves to hold it in place.

~CIARA~No. No. No.My fingers trembled around the contract as my eyes scanned it again.Graham Hayes. The same Alpha from earlier. The same man whose touch still burned against my skin.I’d heard rumors about his ruthlessness. Cruelty. Unhinged personality. He didn’t seem like the polite man that had steadied me on the road. “I can’t marry him,” I voiced out my thoughts. “I…can’t get married to a man who just wants me to produce pups for him.”My stepmother’s mocking laugh made my stomach drop through the floor. I knew that laugh. It was the one that came before she said something hurtful. “Why else would he marry someone like you?” Her voice bit into my skin. My eyes burned and my vision started to blur. “You should be grateful. An omega like you being Alpha Graham’s breeder is practically charity.”My heart sank. “Mom!”“What?” She snapped back. “Stop acting like you don’t like the idea of warming Alpha Graham’s bed and check out the damn wedding gown. It needs to be perfect for to

~CIARA~Tomorrow was the day my life would end. And the text on my screen did a great job reminding of it. “Miss, your coffee’s getting cold.”My head snapped up to meet a brunette’s warm gaze. She pushed the cup forward until it touched my palm. “You’ve been standing here for several minutes. Are you okay, miss?”No.I’m not okay.By tomorrow, I’d be getting married to a stranger. How could I be okay?“Yes.” I fought the burn in my eyes and grabbed the paper cup, placing some dollar—my last cash—on the counter. “Thank you.”Clutching the cup tightly, I walked out of the small café, my mind still circling around the text my stepmother had sent some minutes ago. She wanted me to come home for the wedding dress fitting. A wedding I’m clearly being forced into. I once thought being an omega was the worst thing that could ever happen to me because it altered my life. My father was the beta of the pack.My mother carried Alpha blood. But I was a weak omega who couldn’t even hear the voi
