“Ma.” Archer smiled at me and gave me a hug.

“Nasa room pa rin ang kapatid mo?” tanong ko.

Tumango siya. “I think she’s doing her homework, Ma. I’m done with mine and I’m just reading my book now.”

“That’s good. Tell me if you need something.” He nodded. Tumayo na ako at akmang aalis nang magsalita siya.

“You said you’ll explain, Ma.”

Natigilan ako. I gulped and tried to calm myself. “He’s one of our business partners, Archer.” I caressed his head.
