☆KATE☆

My mother’s words ran relentlessly in my mind, a painful reminder of the source, my mother.

It hurt to hear those words from her, but the real agony lay in the knowledge of who had inflicted this torment upon me.

I was never going to become a mother.

She had stolen that dream from me.

Samira.

The witch.

She had taken everything, and now she was poised to strip my foolish brother of all he held dear.

Since when did he become a moron?

He was supposed to be the smartest in the family.

What happened to him?

I watched my mother leave the house, her presence fading from the room.

My brother remained seated, and honestly, I still wanted to slap some sense into him, hoping a few strikes might jolt him awake.

He lifted his gaze, “I’m sorry for what Mom said, but you know how protective she gets about me.”

“Yeah, I know she always fights your battles for you, you coward!” I shot back.

He turned away, “Just leave. I don’t have time for this. I just leave Kate, please.”

☆Samira☆A broad smile blossomed on my face as I ended the call. It had been ages since I heard from my lovely friend Kate.If only I had set up cameras in her house; oh, the entertainment I would have had, laughing until I cried! But there was no time.I sprang to my feet, flung open the drawer, and pulled out a shiny new phone with a new number.I tossed the old one into the trash can. They were going to dig deep enough to uncover this new number, or had Idris left his phone lying around and they stole my number?Just then, Jacobs strolled into the room.“We’ve released all the photos. What’s next?” he asked.“I was up all night, and I think I’ve figured out a way to wrap this up without Idris catching on to how I’ve been using him,” I replied.“Samira, no,” he interrupted, cutting me off before I could explain. “You’re starting to turn into Vin,” I pointed a finger at him.“I know you want to keep seeing that boy for your own selfish reasons,” he ignored me.“Exa

☆Idris☆It was not like my family would remain in the dark forever. They were bound to find out, but I had envisioned a more normal revelation, one where I could calmly explain to them. Not like this.“But how? Did someone follow us?” Samira exclaimed, her fingers racing over her phone. “Oh my God, we’re in deep trouble!” she cursed, panic evident in her voice.I fell silent, my mind racing.Could my mother’s people have tracked us down? I doubted it, she wouldn’t want to expose us. She’d rather ensure this relationship ended out before it caught anyone’s attention. And Kate had nothing to gain from revealing our secret. She was not the sharpest tool in the shed, but this would be a blow to her pride. It wasn’t my family. It was definitely not from my side, but perhaps the media was sniffing around.“Brother sleeping with his sister’s ex-husband’s wife.”That was the headline.“Idris, say something! I’m losing it here! Was this your mother?” Samira pressed, desperati

☆Samira☆“Don’t get too carried away, or you might end up the one in pain,” those were Jacob's last words when I excitedly announced my vacation plans, and made it clear I didn’t need his go ahead. He was very disappointed with me. He did not need to say it out loud. But honestly, I was having so much fun living every moment, perhaps more than I should have.Portugal was a dreamscape, with its stunning beaches, leisurely boat rides, thriving horse rides, and massive cinemas. It was the perfect getaway, and for once, our relationship wasn’t just about sex.We hardly had time for that, we always got back to our hotel room late at night, utterly tired, just showering and collapsing into bed. Each new day brought fresh adventures, free from the weight of his family or revenge. He loved strolling hand-in-hand through the streets, soaking in the breathtaking views. He was the affectionate type, always wrapping his arms around my waist or draping them over my shoulders. When

☆Idris☆The noisy ring of my phone woke me up as I blinked into the morning light and I found myself captivated by the most stunning green eyes I had ever seen.I never noticed it but this woman's beauty was breathless.I found myself smiling.“You’ve overstayed, Dr. Rells,” she murmured, skipping the usual morning pleasantries.“Good morning to you as well,” I replied, leaning in to plant a kiss on her lips.“Aren’t you going to pick that up?” she asked.“Why bother?” I shrugged.“It’s probably your mother and sister, worried sick. They haven’t heard from you in two days.”With a resigned sigh, I glanced at my phone, and to my irritation, it was indeed my mother calling.“Just answer it,” Samira insisted.“And say what, exactly?”“You’re a grown man, Idriss,” she teased, nudging me playfully.I chuckled and answered the call.“Idriss, where are you? I was at the hospital, and they said you called in sick?” she asked without so much as a “How are you?”“I’m out

☆Samira☆Mama Idris was in town, and she was not one to ignore. Rumor had it that she was fiercely protective of her educated son.If Kate and Idris were both hanging by a thread, she wouldn’t hesitate for a second to choose Idris, which meant she was ready to unleash her wrath now that I was playing around him.I had no intention of ruining Idris’s life, maybe just leave him nursing a broken heart which his mother would gladly accept but the effect of dating him would live rent free in Kate's head. For now, I was enjoying myself too much to let her interfere. There were ways to sidestep her.If she was going to have eyes on Idris, it would be to keep tabs on him after hours. So, my new strategy was to meet him during work or under the guise of work.I quickly texted him, suggesting he asked his boss for more shifts.Within seconds, he called back.“Hey, are you trying to keep me from seeing you?” he teased.“Request shifts in areas that only require you to do rounds and fini
