At the Clinton’s mansion…

Gerald knocked once on Caspian’s door before he turned the knob and pushed the door open. Entering the room, it was dark and gloomy with the overwhelming smell of tobacco and alcohol. Gerald turned the lights on to see his master drinking and smoking on the sofa. Without uttering a word, he walked forward and stretched out the document.

“She signed the divorce papers,” he said.

Caspian didn’t say anything in acknowledgement and continued to puff out clouds of smoke. After waiting a little longer for his reply that never came, Gerald added, “She asked that you send her the information relating to her brother. She also said you should send him back to the country today. She would be waiting for him at the airport.”

“Ungrateful bitch!” he said under his breath, then instructed without interest, “Send the papers to Will.”

“Won’t you look through the papers?”

“What’s the use? She made her decision. She couldn’t wait to run into Atlas’ arms!”
