Lily turned her head, meeting his gaze. “But I was dead.”

“I never believed you died.”

“Why? I could have burned to ashes in that flame.”

“No body was found.”

“But the news said otherwise.”

“I made everyone believe so. I needed to fetch out everyone who was involved… and I did.”

“But you didn’t hurt Celina.”

He stretched his hand and brushed off the strand of hair from her face while saying, “You wouldn’t know.”

“If you tell me, I would know.”

Caspian gazed at her face for a long time before he pulled away and got up. “We should hurry along. I can spot light coming from up there.” He pointed to his right.

Lily looked in the direction and indeed, there was a glow. She got up and the two resumed their walk.
