Chapter 14

Elena’s POV

I hadn’t really expected Mark to be nice to me here, knowing fully well that I had ignored him totally that night, but he was being overly nice and sweet as though we have been friends for ages, and I suddenly felt guilty for acting that way on that unfortunate night.

Well seems like I got what I deserved, because on the same night, I had the most embarrassing experience of my life, and yet he didn’t seem ready to question me about what had transpired that might, between their boss and I, and I was totally grateful about that, because I had no excuse cooked up for that night.

As he chatted heartily about his wishes that I would be employed so that we could get to hang out together, my eyes swept to the guy from earlier.

He held an unreadable look on his face, but his eyes seemed hold a strong warning, which I realized was directed to Mark; and just as I have guessed, Mark looked at him and suddenly fell silent which was very suspicious.
