Eva Gibson's pov

Swinging my arm Austin stopped then looked at me.

“You want to come back and stay at my place?”

Giggling, I shook my head.

“I think I should stay by myself while I go through training but we can still go out on dates. I don't want to tarnish my already sketchy reputation,” I said softly and he chuckled.

“That sounds like a jab at my sordid past,” he said with a smirk and I raised my eyebrows at him as I smiled guiltily.

“Fine, Eva,” he muttered and I squeezed his hand.

“I swear it's nothing against you,” I asserted and he said, “Right. Well, let's head to the commissary so you can get your work schedule since you want to be an independent woman.”

Rolling my eyes at him he pulled me toward the small grocery store and held the door open so I could walk past him.

“Hey Wyatt, is Betty here?” Austin asked and the clerk pointed to the back and said, “The boss lady is in her office.”

“Follow me, Eva,” he said firmly and headed toward the rear of the store
