Eva Gibson’s POV

Heading out onto the back patio, I gripped the phone next to my ear.

“What do you hope to gain? You're being challenged on Friday and will be defeated!” I exclaimed bitterly.

The line went quiet, and suddenly, Olivia was fake sobbing on the line. My nerves were irked since I was all too familiar with her false tears.

“Eva, Patrick is threatening Landon and says he will kill us both if you don't turn yourself in…what did you and Austin do?!”

“We didn't do anything. Patrick is being paranoid and believes that we are part of a plan to overthrow him. His brother has already challenged him, so this is just a weak attempt to gain leverage,” I mumbled in exhaustion.

“I'm pregnant with Landon’s pup!” She shouted, and I pinched my mouth before telling her congratulations.

I then narrowed my eyes before I asked how much she and Landon were getting paid.

Sputtering, she said softly, “What are you asking, I'm not, I mean…Landon…Oh, my Goddess!”
