Chapter 6

Riley was silent in her kitchen, several people were watching her from earlier. They remained frozen, allowing their mistress to act first.

Her eyes looked very serious, she mostly held her breath while looking at the ingredients in front of her.

“Spaghetti, is he going to eat it?” Riley asked with a frown.

She thought of Lucius, who was perfect from head to toe and possessed an enormous fortune. With just apaghetti, is that enough to satisfy him?

"Mary, what do you think?" asked Riley as her head turned 45 degrees to look at one of her maids.

She was less wealthy than the Anderson family, but Riley chose to stay back at her house after the divorce was finalized. Old house with some old workers who have worked since her father was around.

"What is it, Miss Riley?" Marry looked back at the place where the ingredients were placed. "You want to make provisions?"

Riley nodded her head. She didn't say who it was for, and since she had broken up with Mike, people thought Riley would never make lunch again.

“That would make great spaghetti, madam. We have freshly harvested cherry tomatoes in our garden.” Mary smiled happily. She has a bit of white hair on her head. She is 55 years old this year and one of Riley's favorite maids.

"I want it. Bring it here.” Riley smiled happily. She tied her hair in a ponytail, her smile lighter than before. Looking at Riley now, they were looking at a flower garden.

“Miss Riley seems to have forgotten the 'damn' thing.” Parker, the chef, whispered in Mary's ear and immediately received a sharp elbow from Mary.

His blue eyes narrowed, sharp and frightening. Anyone who has just met him will agree that he is difficult to touch.

Lucius put down the file he was looking at earlier while leaning back, he exhaled. A frown appeared on his forehead, and he finally looked ahead.

"You call this work?"

He had waited five minutes and heard a deep, cold voice that made his bones ache.

"You must repeat. You want to bankrupt this company?” Lucius's brows knit together, the accusation terrifying the employee in front of him.

Face-to-face with their boss always made him pray first. Afraid that this figure in front of him would discover his mistake. Anyone in this company or even in any other company will know the name Lucius Edmund Carson was a great man, perfect and thorough.

"Or it turns out you're a spy from another company?" asked Lucius.

“No, Sir Lucius. I will fix it soon.” The man hurriedly took the file earlier, he smiled stiffly like a porcelain doll smile.

He had left Lucius' room and now the big man was leaning back against the chair. He had done a lot of work, it wasn't even noon. It was only natural for him to be proud of himself, the figure beside him also knew that.

"Do you need anything else, Sir Lucius?" Abriel bowed slightly, making him slightly lower than his previous position when he spoke to Lucius, who looked lazy.

Do not let Lucius raise his head, it is strictly forbidden. Abriel has an apparent reason why he can become Lucius' secretary.

"Bring me coffee." Lucius moved his hand, his face could look sad in Abriel's eyes.

For geniuses, naturally, no challenge would be so depressing. It was scary, to the point where the genius Lucius would often throw tantrums to get his adrenaline going even higher.

“I miss Riley. Is she working? Should I go there? She didn't forget her promise, did she?

Lucius had a habit of working very fast, making him seem rushed. He wanted this, wanted that, always giving other people a headache. Wilson never even cried facing this man. At that time, he could have targeted Wilson just because Lucius was bored.

The level of madness is extraordinary.

Knock! Knock!

There was a knock on his work door, his expression becoming even more terrifying. He had been doing his job, and if anyone knocked into his study, it must be about work in trouble.

“Can't they follow me? They really need to get extra training.”

Lucius tapped on his desk once with his index finger. He inhaled and exhaled briefly through his nose.

"Come in."

A woman who was an assistant maid came in, she looked carefully, showing herself in front of him.

"Sir Lucius, there is Miss Riley."

It immediately made Lucius body stand up from his seat. He loved this, his blood was flowing fast, and his fingertips were shaking, he stood up and pulled up his shirt to keep it from looking wrinkled. Even his left hand moved swiftly to tidy up the shiny brown hair.

He stepped forward excitedly, causing the assistant to freeze in place.

“Riley!”

His eyes widened as he saw Riley's face filled with smiles. Thin lips that make her more beautiful.

"Riley, you didn't tell me you were coming here." Lucius stopped in front of Riley, who he saw carrying something.

Lucius became even more pleased, he knew that this would be his first lunch using Riley's lunch.

"I forgot to tell you the news. Should I continue to stand here? Or should I leave immediately? Or other?" Riley asked, her gentle voice making Lucius laugh. Little did he know that this woman loved to joke around, teasing him to smile more.

Lucius stretched out his large hand, immediately greeted by Riley. "Come into the room, we can talk about many things, right?"

Riley walked after Lucius, being friends with Lucius made her heart feel better. There were many things she didn't expect from Lucius. This extraordinary man, whom she thought might be challenging to approach, was very friendly to her.

Friends she never thought she would get. Likewise, the people there fell silent because they saw a new side of their master.

**

The fragrance tickled Lucius' nose, he stared until he couldn't breathe.

What he saw was spaghetti that was so tempting. His big hands moved, he picked up something uniquely shaped, lifted it and looked at it with eager eyes.

"This is the sausage?" asked Lucius in surprise. He had never seen a sausage with so many legs like this.

“Yeah, I made an octopus. Ah, sorry I treated you like a child. But it looked boring earlier, so I decorated it a bit.” Riley rubbed the back of her neck, embarrassed.

She realized that this was very childish.

In front of her was a great man who could spend a fortune on just one meal. He can eat at any five-star restaurant at any time or even invite all the famous chefs to cook food for him in front of him.

Of course, theirs is much better than Riley's ridiculous creations.

"So cute, just like you." His smile was wide, making his mouth slightly open. He looked cute in Riley's eyes.

Lucius' hands also moved fast. He put the sausage octopus into his mouth.

"You mean I look like an octopus, huh?" asked Riley with a disappointed face.

“Adorable octopuses, Riley. But the dolls.”

Riley let out a shallow breath. She watched Lucius rummage through the spaghetti she was making. Looks very enthusiastic.
