Chapter 13
THE ROOM was quiet.
The only thing that can be heard is the soft, steady beeping sound of the ICU ventilator beside the bed, where a young woman laid. The sky outside the windows is bright and sunny, complementing the news that will soon be revealed.
The door opened with a soft creak. A nurse came inside the room. Her gaze went to the woman peacefully sleeping on the bed and walked towards her.
She had been a few years in her work, and what was she knew is the lady who’s lying on the bed had been in coma for about five years now. She remembered she has a brother and a friend who’s always visiting her. Not that she knew them, but she can feel that that two people badly wanted her to wake up.
She went beside her and checked her vitals. When she was fixing the tubes connected on her wrist, a small twitch from the patient’s hand got her eyes widen.
Is it her hallucination? Or the patient really moved?
