Lillian's perspective.

I went out with Ismail. After getting out of the car at the gate of the new building, he made Sam my chaperone for the day. 

Brimming with energy, Sam was a force of nature. He had no sooner seen me than he sobbed out his tears of gratitude. "Luna, I can't thank you enough for last night. I am incredibly grateful."

"Last night?" That sort of confused me for a second. It wasn't a big enough deal for me to store it in my memory. 

"I heard from Katrina that you were the one who pleaded with the Alpha for me. That's why I was able to keep my job," said Sam with a silly smile, "I shouldn't have left my post without permission and created such an inconvenience for the Alpha. If it were in the past, I would've been fired long ago."

"It's no big deal, Sam—it's not even worth mentioning. Just do better in the future." I smiled at him.

"Definitely," he agreed loudly.

He started the car, and soon, silence settled in the
