* Regina *

The days passed by fast in the Western pack. The next morning, I was still basking in the strangeness of sleeping in a clean bed when a sharp knock rattled the door of our room. My mother stirred awake beside me, already anxious. Before either of us could answer, the door creaked open, and a tall wolf warrior stepped in. His hair was tied back, his chest marked with the faint scars of training, and his presence and build were commanding without effort.

"Regina?" His deep voice carried weight, though not unkind. He is asking for my name.

I pushed myself up from the bed, clutching the blanket around me. "Y-Yes."

He studied me for a moment, his eyes flicking over my face with a sort of critical appraisal, as though he were measuring something I couldn't see. Finally, he nodded, satisfied. "You'll need to come with me."

My mother sat up, alarmed. "For what reason? I am her mother.”

The warrior glanced her way, then back to me. "The Alpha's birthday is in three days. The Luna re

    * Regina *I felt the forest mourn with me the moment Alpha Archer crossed the border and the bond stretched thin and aching between us. The Wilds, no, my Wilds, shifted around me, wolves emerging from the trees, from the shadows, from the half-burned remnants of what had once been called the Rogue camp.They waited for me. Not for permission but for my direction.I stepped into the center of the clearing where blood had soaked the earth only hours before. The old banner, ragged, nameless, heavy with shame, still hung from the central post. I reached up and tore it down with one sharp pull. The sound of fabric ripping echoed like a verdict."This pack no longer answers to a name born of exile," I said, my voice carrying without effort. I didn't raise it. I didn't need to. "There are no rogues here anymore."Murmurs rippled through them—confusion of the words that I just said. Hope for a better place. "We are the Wild's Pack now," I continued. "Untamed wolves but with a purpose. Sover

    * Alpha Archer * The rogues felt relieved after the Alpha King left, but my chest did not. I watched Regina stand in the clearing she now ruled, shoulders squared, spine straight, eyes sharp with a calm that had been carved by blood and impossible choices. The rogues moved around her instinctively, not crowding, not questioning. Following her and looking up to her. She belonged here, unpredictably. And that realization hurt more viciously than any wound I had ever taken in battle. Because it means I can no longer take her back to the West. The summons came not with words, but with a pull in my bones, a reminder of borders, of duty, of the West calling its Alpha home. The Alpha King did not need to say it aloud. I was expected back home. Immediately since I am the head of the West. Before loyalties tangled further. Before lines blurred beyond repair. I stepped closer to Regina, lowering my voice. "I have to go back now." Her eyes flicked to mine, and for just a heartbeat, the Alph

    * Regina *Morning came softly, and surprisingly the first pleasant one I had in the rogue pack.I woke with my cheek pressed to Alpha Archer's chest, the steady rhythm of his heart anchoring me to the present. For a few precious seconds, I forgot everything, the ashes, the crown of blood I had inherited, the eyes of the rogues watching my every move. There was only warmth, only him.Then the forest shifted into something I couldn't ignore, not with birdsong or wind, but with power.I felt it before I heard it, a familiar pressure rolling through the trees like a warning bell inside my bones. Authority and strength of someone powerful. The kind that demanded the world to straighten its spine.The Alpha King, I stiffened. Alpha Archer felt it instantly. His arms tightened around me, protective even in sleep. His eyes opened, sharp and alert, the warrior already awake beneath the man."He's here," I whispered.His jaw flexed. "I won't let him take you from me again."I lifted my head, b

    * Regina *It was evening when the cleanup was done. The air tasted different once the last of the bodies had been burned.Smoke curled upward into the dark sky, carrying the scent of endings, of Malgori, of the war, of everything that had torn me and Alpha Archer apart. When the flames finally died, exhaustion wrapped itself around my bones. The rogues had retreated to the outskirts of camp, wary but obedient. Rowan and Elias tended to the injured. And Alpha Archer, watched me.Not as the leader I had just become. Or as the daughter of the man I killed. But as the woman he had almost lost. His eyes followed me with that same fierce devotion he used on the battlefield only softer now, rawer. My heart stumbled each time our gazes met.When the last ember dimmed, I felt a familiar warmth brush my hand, larger fingers sliding around mine. Alpha Archer, silent, bloodstained, wounded, but steady."Come with me," he murmured.His voice was rough, wounded from battle and from everything he n

    * Alpha Archer *That moment after Regina's scream, I held my breath as the battlefield did not truly fall silent.Wolves still breathed raggedly, the smell of blood still curdled the air, the earth still trembled beneath the weight of violence, but in my mind, there was only her.Standing between me and Malgori so have. The sight of her, shaking, blood-streaked, ripped straight through the savage haze of my wolf. I felt my fangs retract, felt my claws grind against the dirt as I forced myself not to lunge forward and drag her out of danger.But then Malgori moved. Not much, just a twitch, a shift of weight, a tightening of his remaining strength, but enough to ignite instinct in me again.I bared my teeth against him.He was mine to finish, to tear apart for daring to threaten her and to rip from this world after. But she looked at me with those eyes.The ones that always bound me stronger than any ritual."Let me end this," she said.And my wolf, snarling, boiling, trembling, bowed

    * Regina *The world was still shaking and it felt like breaking apart when I stepped between them. Malgori and Alpha Archer, two wolves with the strength of hundreds. Both are fighting violently.My legs felt like they belonged to someone else, light, weak, trembling, but my will was as hard as iron. The clearing smelled of blood and dust, wolves panting, growling, holding themselves back by nothing more than my voice.I saw Alpha Archer's silver form crouched low, fur bristling, jaws dripping with Malgori's blood. I saw my father, half-shifted, one knee in the dirt, clutching his torn throat as he glared up at me as betrayal itself had struck him.And then. Hands grabbed me from behind. I barely registered it before Rowan's snarl ripped through the air."Touch her again," he roared, "and I'll gut you myself!"Rowan slammed into the rogue who had lunged for me, knocking him sideways, teeth finding his shoulder. Blood sprayed across the dirt. Another rogue circled behind me, but Elias
