LOGINMy butt was still on the ground when I realized I was staring, and no it wasn’t at the cracked pavement or the blood seeping from my knee, rather it was at him.
A man that stood a few feet away from me, tall, stoic and unmoving like had had been carved out from stone. He looked unreal, like he belonged in another world, with his long coat and polished shoes. My gaze remained on him running over his muscular silhouette and I couldn’t bring myself to utter a word. “How long do you plan to keep staring at me?” He spoke his voice deep and flat. His voice snapped me out my gaze as I pushed myself up to get a better view of him ignoring the burning pain in my knee. “You almost hit me with your car!” I shot back at him my heart racing at the near death experience. He stared at me like he was bored before he spoke again. “I asked you a question, kitten," he said. "Plus you stepped into traffic on purpose." “I wasn’t staring at you, asshole.” I said lowly not even believing myself. His lips twitched, not forming a smile but rather a tiny smirk that lasted for a split second. “I’m not an asshole,if I was one I would have ran you over, and plus I don’t like prison.” “Ugh you’re such an insensitive person.” I stated as I took a step closer to him. “I’ve been called worse” he retorted “Now get out of my way I have places to be.” “No!” I declared standing my ground as he glanced down at my scraped hands, my shaking body, and my swollen eyes. "Get out red face.” He whispered condescendingly and my chest burned, anger bubbled up, hot and humiliating. "You are so rude it’s like you think you are better than me or something.” I snapped. He didn't flinch. "I know i am better than you.” he corrected. "Plus you can kill yourself but use a cliff next time." Silence suddenly stretched between us,thick and uncomfortable as I stared at the tall man who stood close enough for me to smell him. He looked clean expensive and dangerously calm, which would explain his insensitive words. "You're shaking," he said starting at my quivering frame. "So?" I snapped angry at myself for feeling an ounce of sadness. “That means you are either cold or emotionally unstable.” He continued not bothered by my tone. I stared at him as tears filled my eyes, the series of bad events that had happened today replaying in my mind. “God I dislike you already.” I said in between sniffles as I stared at him. "Why? I didn't insult you," he said slowly. “Ugh..you,who tells a lady to kill herself.” I said in between sniffles. “Is that what is making you cry?" He said looking perplexed. “Yes!" I yelled hitting him on his chest which was warm under my hand. Firm. Unmoving. "Interesting," he murmured. I laughed this time. "Of course that’s what you will say." He stared at my crazy looking self watching me intently. "What is really making you cry?” He inquired I wiped my cheeks angrily. "Nothing.” I said firmly "People usually drink when they're like this," he offered. I blinked. "Like what?" "Sad," he replied. "Is Mr. Rude offering me a drink?" "Yes." I stared at him, stunned by his gesture. "Fine.” I muttered. "One drink." He nodded once, already turning away. "Try not to run into moving cars," he added. "It's not the best way to die." I glared at his back as I followed him down the street. The bar was almost empty with only a few hollering men at some tables. He walked towards the nearest seat and I sat beside him our knees brushing against each other. We ordered drinks and they arrived shortly in fancy glasses and he slid mine towards me. "Drink," he said. "Bossy." I retorted as I took a sip letting the alcohol run down my throat. The warmth spread through me slowly, making the pain in my chest let loose. The alcohol made my tongue looser, my thoughts slipperier. “What’s your name?” I asked staring at me him once again but he ignored me not saying anything. "You're staring again," he commented taking a sip of his drink. "So are you." “Well I’m looking cause you keep staring.” He countered and I let sigh as I looked away from him grabbing another drink. "I can stare if I want." "You can," he agreed. "You're just not trying to be subtle." "Yeah I don't want to be." That made his jaw tighten. Before he could say anything I stood up too fast. The room spun. He caught my arm instantly, his grip firm. "Sit down!” He ordered. "No, I’m fine." I countered peeling his hands off mine. "You can’t stand straight, so you’re not fine." I stared at him, my breath coming out in pants. As the air between felt thick with tension. I swallowed. "Come upstairs with me." His eyes darkened instantly. "No," he said. "Why not?" I challenged. "You're drunk." "So?" "And you don't actually want to do this," he continued. My throat tightened. "You don't get to decide that.” I said running my hands all over his hard chest. “Well I do tonight.” He said through gritted teeth pulling my hands off him. I stared at him my eyes clouding with tears as they came down fast. "Even you don't want me," I choked out in humiliation. “I didn’t say that.” He said as he wiped the tears off my face, his coarse hands gentle on my skin. "Then what are you saying?" I snapped, swiping at my face. “I’m saying that this can only happen when you are sober.” He explained “that way can I know you actually want this.” I hated the fact that he had a point. “Come on let’s go.” He says after a moment. “To your place?” I asked hopefully. “No kitten,to a room so you can sleep,” I nodded as he led me away from all the music towards a lady and he booked a room upstairs and then led me towards an elevator and we ascended to the rooms. "This way," he said leading me past a series of doors. The room was plain. Neutral colors. One bed. A bed side lamp. And it smelled like cheap air fresheners. He shut the door behind us and I swallowed. "So," I said, trying to sound casual, failing miserably. "This is where you abandon me.” “This is where you sleep." He countered. "And where would you sleep?" "Don’t worry about me kitten." I nodded walking towards the bed as I dropped my coat on it and kicked my shoes off. He watched me intently like I was a puzzle he was trying to piece. "Now you’re staring at me," I said. “So?” He replied and I turned to face him fully. "Keep doing that and I will kiss you.” The air shifted. "That wouldn’t be smart ," he said. "I know." "And you may regret it." "Probably." I took a step closer my heart beating so fast that I could hear it in my ears and I grabbed his coat before I could think about this again and placed my lips on his. Our lips crashed into a heated kiss,it was hungry, hard and hot. I gasped at his fervor my fingers sleeping from his coat that I held. He tasted like alcohol and spice and this only made me kiss him back desperately and as it got hotter he broke the kiss abruptly. “Tell me to stop this.” His whispered his voice coming out between pants. “Please don’t.” I said as I shook my head. “Are you sure?” He asked and I nodded desperate to get back to the kiss. He went back to the kiss, this time slower and deeper and my knees went weak as he played with my tongue. He walked me backward until my legs hit the bed and he pushed me onto it. My back laid on the soft bed as I stared at his ripped body. He lowered himself onto me as his head found my neck and he attacked me with kisses. “You’re sure about this?” He asked one last time. And I nodded pulling him closer to me and that broke whatever restraint he had left. He kissed down my jaw towards my breasts and his fingers slipped under my dress and he started playing with my nipples. I arched my back instinctively and reached for his pants as I needed more and he smirked. “Impatient, I see,” he rumbled as he reached for his pants taking off his belt and laying on me. I could feel the size of his dick in between my thighs and I could only smile knowing this was going to be a good night.VALERIANI opened my eyes immediately the clock reached 5:47, I didn’t even need to check it because I already knew. My body woke up at that exact time whether I liked it or not. It was a habit I had formed years ago and now I can’t seem to stop.I sat up from my bed and swung my feet onto my cold bed before trudging into my bathroom. The bathroom remained the same, the same way I always left it. Toothbrush holder bristles facing left, towels folded into thirds and a few other things. I reached for my toothbrush and began brushing and I brushed my teeth for exactly two minutes 11 seconds not a second more or less.I rinsed my mouth when I was done and splashed water on my face before trying myself and then I walked to my closet which was organized by color.Greys, blacks and whites. I pulled put out a charcoal suit, a white shirt and a dark tie.I dressed in front of the mirror. Adjusted my collar. Checked my cuffs. Everything was in place. Everything was precise. The man staring b
SEREIAI stared at the ceiling for what felt like an eternity after reading the news. The numbers were still etched in my mind. The stock prices. The headlines. The comments. All of it. Valerian’s company was suffering because of me. Because of what people said I did. Because of a lie that just would not go away.I could not stay here. The thought crept in quietly like a whisper I did not want to hear. I tried to push it but it lingered. I sat up and rubbed my face, my eyes were swollen, my head and chest felt hollow.I needed to find Valerian. I needed to explain things to him to make this right. I stood up walked to the door unlocked it and stepped into the hallway. The stairs felt longer than usual. Each step felt heavier than the last. I could hear voices downstairs. Aurora’s tone, Annabelle’s sweet response, the clinking of coffee cups and the shuffle of feet.I reached the bottom of the stairs and turned the corner. Aurora saw me first and her face immediately changed, the cold
SEREIAI walked…I didn’t know where I was going neither did I care, the only thing I knew was that I couldn’t remain here,And so I trudged the hallway stretched ahead of me, the carpets muffled my footsteps while the light buzzed over head.I walked past different rooms, past the elevators and past the ice machine that kept humming in the quiet. My face was wet with tears, my hands were shaking and my chest felt like someone was sitting on it. Everytime, every single time I thought things might be okay, something happened.I pushed through the door at the end of the hall entering into the cold echoing stairwell. I lowered myself and sat at top step pulling my knees to my chest before letting myself fall apart.I cried in between my knees, thinking of everything that happened this last few hours and tho I could hear my phone buzzing repeatedly I couldn’t even get myself to look at it. My phone buzzed again. Then again and again.I eventually got tired of the countless buzzing and
SEREIAThe terrace was still in chaos, people were shouting, phones were flashing and even tho a lot of people surrounded me I was alone. Selena remained on the floor with her hand clutches to her stomach while she wailed. I stood frozen, hands raised, heart pounding as I stared at her. Then Lucas lunged at me."You bitch!" He yelled, his face was red and his eyes were wide and almost crazed. Two men grabbed his arms preventing him from hitting me but he eventually fought them off. "I'll ruin you! Do you hear me? I'll ruin your miserable life! I'll make sure everyone knows what you are!" He threatened and by now people were more intrigued, staring with dirty eyes and murmuring over the chaos."Someone call the police!""Get her away from here!""She pushed a pregnant woman!"I heard a number of people say and I didn’t even know who was who. Annabelle suddenly stepped forward, her face was pale but her eyes were hardened and cold. "I always knew you were trash. First you tried to ki
SEREIAIt was beginning to look like no one was going to break the tie, not until a woman stood up.She had kind eyes that seemed to glisten, dark hair and an equally dark dress. It was Ariana. She walked forward slowly like she had all the time in the world, her familiar face was rid of any smile with only a stern business like look in place. “O my God do you know what that is?” Sarah whisper yelled into my ear in glee. “Yes I do.” I nodded. “She helped me escape Annabelle earlier.” I added and Sarah shook her head frantically. "No no not that, she is Ariana Vance." Sarah's voice was urgent. "She owns half the tech patents in Europe. She's worth more than a lot of people in this room combined…except Valerian and a few others of course." Sarah informed me and I gasped at the nice woman I had met earlier. She walked into the podium before grabbing a piece of paper bad writing something on it before dropping it in the box and then she turned around scanned the room as her eyes found
SEREIAIt’s been hours since Annabelle left and by now we were already at the award ceremony, surrounded by crystal chandeliers, white flowers and tables filled in silk. I sat beside Valerian, enjoying the feel of his hands on my thighs under the table as I pretended I wasn’t nervous.Sarah sat at my other side, talking to some of the other workers about random things I didn’t follow and even tho words like contracts and deadlines flew by. I still couldn’t decipher what they were talking about. I didn’t know me lack of concentration was because of the chill air or because of the fact that this was the last night here and tomorrow we were going back home.I would be back to Aurora’s endless wickedness and Annabelle’s ugly nature will double. "Hey." Sarah nudged me, pulling me out of my train of thoughts. "You okay? You're quiet." She asked and I nodded. “I’m ok, just tired." I lied and she studied me for a moment."You've been tired all week." She finally said and I shrugged mainly

SEREIAThe air in the Nethrix lobby always felt five degrees colder than the New York air. I stepped out of the elevator on the top floor, my heels clicking against the marbled floor.I walked towards my desk and sat on my chair as I checked my reflection on the compact mirror making sure I looked
SEREIAThe elevator was silent and the tension on it was thick enough to be cut with a knife but thankfully the elevator moved fast. I stared at the steel floor feeling the weight of everything that had just happened.“You fired her.” I whispered holding my CV tightly in my hands.“She was incompet
