My butt was still on the ground when I realized I was staring, and no it wasn’t at the cracked pavement or the blood seeping from my knee, rather it was at him.

A man that stood a few feet away from me, tall, stoic and unmoving like had had been carved out from stone.

He looked unreal, like he belonged in another world, with his long coat and polished shoes.

My gaze remained on him running over his muscular silhouette and I couldn’t bring myself to utter a word.

“How long do you plan to keep staring at me?” He spoke his voice deep and flat.

His voice snapped me out my gaze as I pushed myself up to get a better view of him ignoring the burning pain in my knee.

“You almost hit me with your car!” I shot back at him my heart racing at the near death experience.

He stared at me like he was bored before he spoke again.

“I asked you a question, kitten," he said. "Plus you stepped into traffic on purpose."

“I wasn’t staring at you, asshole.” I said lowly not even believing myself.

His lips twitched, not forming a smile but rather a tiny smirk that lasted for a split second.

“I’m not an asshole,if I was one I would have ran you over, and plus I don’t like prison.”

“Ugh you’re such an insensitive person.” I stated as I took a step closer to him.

“I’ve been called worse” he retorted “Now get out of my way I have places to be.”

“No!” I declared standing my ground as he glanced down at my scraped hands, my shaking body, and my swollen eyes.

"Get out red face.” He whispered condescendingly and my chest burned, anger bubbled up, hot and humiliating.

"You are so rude it’s like you think you are better than me or something.” I snapped.

He didn't flinch.

"I know i am better than you.” he corrected. "Plus you can kill yourself but use a cliff next time."

Silence suddenly stretched between us,thick and uncomfortable as I stared at the tall man who stood close enough for me to smell him. He looked clean expensive and dangerously calm, which would explain his insensitive words.

"You're shaking," he said starting at my quivering frame.

"So?" I snapped angry at myself for feeling an ounce of sadness.

“That means you are either cold or emotionally unstable.” He continued not bothered by my tone.

I stared at him as tears filled my eyes, the series of bad events that had happened today replaying in my mind.

“God I dislike you already.” I said in between sniffles as I stared at him.

"Why? I didn't insult you," he said slowly.

“Ugh..you,who tells a lady to kill herself.” I said in between sniffles.

“Is that what is making you cry?" He said looking perplexed.

“Yes!" I yelled hitting him on his chest which was warm under my hand. Firm. Unmoving.

"Interesting," he murmured.

I laughed this time. "Of course that’s what you will say."

He stared at my crazy looking self watching me intently.

"What is really making you cry?” He inquired

I wiped my cheeks angrily. "Nothing.” I said firmly

"People usually drink when they're like this," he offered.

I blinked. "Like what?"

"Sad," he replied.

"Is Mr. Rude offering me a drink?"

"Yes."

I stared at him, stunned by his gesture.

"Fine.” I muttered. "One drink."

He nodded once, already turning away.

"Try not to run into moving cars," he added. "It's not the best way to die."

I glared at his back as I followed him down the street.

The bar was almost empty with only a few hollering men at some tables. He walked towards the nearest seat and I sat beside him our knees brushing against each other.

We ordered drinks and they arrived shortly in fancy glasses and he slid mine towards me.

"Drink," he said.

"Bossy." I retorted as I took a sip letting the alcohol run down my throat. The warmth spread through me slowly, making the pain in my chest let loose.

The alcohol made my tongue looser, my thoughts slipperier.

“What’s your name?” I asked staring at me him once again but he ignored me not saying anything.

"You're staring again," he commented taking a sip of his drink.

"So are you."

“Well I’m looking cause you keep staring.” He countered and I let sigh as I looked away from him grabbing another drink.

"I can stare if I want."

"You can," he agreed. "You're just not trying to be subtle."

"Yeah I don't want to be."

That made his jaw tighten.

Before he could say anything I stood up too fast. The room spun.

He caught my arm instantly, his grip firm.

"Sit down!” He ordered.

"No, I’m fine." I countered peeling his hands off mine.

"You can’t stand straight, so you’re not fine."

I stared at him, my breath coming out in pants. As the air between felt thick with tension.

I swallowed. "Come upstairs with me."

His eyes darkened instantly.

"No," he said.

"Why not?" I challenged.

"You're drunk."

"So?"

"And you don't actually want to do this," he continued.

My throat tightened. "You don't get to decide that.” I said running my hands all over his hard chest.

“Well I do tonight.” He said through gritted teeth pulling my hands off him.

I stared at him my eyes clouding with tears as they came down fast.

"Even you don't want me," I choked out in humiliation.

“I didn’t say that.” He said as he wiped the tears off my face, his coarse hands gentle on my skin.

"Then what are you saying?" I snapped, swiping at my face.

“I’m saying that this can only happen when you are sober.” He explained “that way can I know you actually want this.”

I hated the fact that he had a point.

“Come on let’s go.” He says after a moment.

“To your place?” I asked hopefully.

“No kitten,to a room so you can sleep,”

I nodded as he led me away from all the music towards a lady and he booked a room upstairs and then led me towards an elevator and we ascended to the rooms.

"This way," he said leading me past a series of doors.

The room was plain. Neutral colors. One bed. A bed side lamp. And it smelled like cheap air fresheners.

He shut the door behind us and I swallowed.

"So," I said, trying to sound casual, failing miserably. "This is where you abandon me.”

“This is where you sleep." He countered.

"And where would you sleep?"

"Don’t worry about me kitten."

I nodded walking towards the bed as I dropped my coat on it and kicked my shoes off.

He watched me intently like I was a puzzle he was trying to piece.

"Now you’re staring at me," I said.

“So?” He replied and I turned to face him fully. "Keep doing that and I will kiss you.”

The air shifted.

"That wouldn’t be smart ," he said.

"I know."

"And you may regret it."

"Probably."

I took a step closer my heart beating so fast that I could hear it in my ears and I grabbed his coat before I could think about this again and placed my lips on his.

Our lips crashed into a heated kiss,it was hungry, hard and hot. I gasped at his fervor my fingers sleeping from his coat that I held.

He tasted like alcohol and spice and this only made me kiss him back desperately and as it got hotter he broke the kiss abruptly.

“Tell me to stop this.” His whispered his voice coming out between pants.

“Please don’t.” I said as I shook my head.

“Are you sure?” He asked and I nodded desperate to get back to the kiss.

He went back to the kiss, this time slower and deeper and my knees went weak as he played with my tongue.

He walked me backward until my legs hit the bed and he pushed me onto it. My back laid on the soft bed as I stared at his ripped body.

He lowered himself onto me as his head found my neck and he attacked me with kisses.

“You’re sure about this?” He asked one last time.

And I nodded pulling him closer to me and that broke whatever restraint he had left.

He kissed down my jaw towards my breasts and his fingers slipped under my dress and he started playing with my nipples.

I arched my back instinctively and reached for his pants as I needed more and he smirked.

“Impatient, I see,” he rumbled as he reached for his pants taking off his belt and laying on me.

I could feel the size of his dick in between my thighs and I could only smile knowing this was going to be a good night.

SEREIAThe boutique looked expensive— Ivory walls, gold trimmings and mannequins that wore dresses that probably cost more than my first apartment.I stood at the door hesitating to enter, my outfit was simple. Jeans, sweater and boots and nothing about it said. “I’m a rich lady and I belong here.” but I needed a dress for the party and so I pushed the door open. ---The bell chimes softly immediately I walked in and everything inside the boutique was equally the same color as the outside and crystal chandelier hung from the ceilings, the entire place smelling like flowers and money. Two women stood behind a long counter, they were both in black dresses and their hairs were primed to perfection. The looked at me as I walked in and then looked at each other. One of them, the blonde one with sharp eyes walked over with a smile that didn’t reach her face. "Welcome to the Pavillon, I’m Lucinda that head of sales. How may I help you?”"I need a dress for a formal event ." I replied an

He commanded and immediately sat down. Shortly after a young waitress approached us."What would you guys like?" She asked with a polite smile that didn’t quite reach her tired eyes.Valerian called out his super specific coffee order and then asked for a croissant, he then looked at me waiting for my order and and I asked for soup and bread, then the waitress wrote down our order and we left."You come here often?" I asked him as we waited for our food and he looked at me from his tablet."When I need to think." He replied and I raised my brow at me in question. "And you need to think now?"“Yes I do." He answered and I nodded going back to s

SEREIA I woke up to gray light filtering through the curtains and the faint sound of Liyana giggling downstairs and for a moment I just laid there staring at the ceiling as I let the events of yesterday wash over me. The play, Liyana hugging Valerian and of course Lucas. I pushed the thoughts away as I stood up from my bed and went downstairs. ---The kitchen was already filled with noise when I went down stairs. Gracie was at the stove staring up something in the pot while Liyana sat at the table, kicking her feet with a half-eaten piece of toast in her hand. "Mommy!" She yelled immediately I reached downstairs as she waved her toast at me."Today is show-and-tell and I'm bringing my llama!" She added and I smiled at her before responding."That's nice, baby."I walked further into the dining only to find Valerian sitting at his usual spot with his coffee beside him and his tablet in his hand. He looked up at me for a second before he returned back to his tablet. Arthur appeared
