LOGINIsadora’s POV.
I never expected that the moment I walked out of prison, I would be sent directly to the pack without even going home first.
It seemed that the Alpha really was close to death.
It’s been three hours since Ronan drove out of prison grounds with me in the back seat of his car. I stared out the window, at the unfamiliar landscape rushing past us as my mind drifted to my daughter.
The car drove past a massive iron gate and a spiraling dark structure built from stone rose from the ground before us.
ShadowFang pack house was the largest I’d ever seen.
As soon as we alighted, two young maids rushed forward to welcome us and Ronan turned to one of them,
“Take her to her room.” He ordered, then he walked away without a single glance in my direction.
The young maid bowed her head and led me inside.
I followed her through the massive hallways and marveled at how grand everything was.
The chandeliers, the staircase, the expensive furniture and even the wood that looked like it had cost a fortune.
The maid chatted excitedly, pointing out different rooms and hallways. I nodded slowly, barely even listening because all I could think about was my daughter.
“And your room should be right down this hallway…” she murmured and it was at that exact moment, I felt it.
A pull.
A weird, deep pull in my chest, tugging me forward. My wolf stirred gently for the first time in four years.
I stopped walking immediately.
The pull kept getting stronger, urging me in a completely different direction from where the maid was headed. I shook my head slowly, trying to ignore it but it kept getting worse.
Eventually, I found my feet rapidly moving on their own down the opposite hallway, up a flight of stairs and past closed doors and empty rooms.
I had no idea where I was going or why I was going there.
But something was pulling me toward it, and I could sense it getting closer.
I stopped in front of a large door.
The pull was strongest there. My heart was pounding and my hands were trembling as I pushed open the door.
The room was dimly lit with heavy curtains blocking out most of the sunlight. The air smelled of herbs and something else—something metallic and sweet.
And in the center of the room, on a massive bed, lay a man with an intense aura emanating from him that was enough to make my wolf whimper in fear.
“Alpha. Alpha.” My wolf whispered in my head and I didn’t need anyone else to tell me this was Alpha Caelen, who had now been tagged, the sleeping Alpha of ShadowFang pack.
I should have turned around immediately but for some reason, I stepped closer, tiptoeing silently across the thick carpet even when I knew he couldn’t hear me.
When I got close enough to get a good look at him, a soft gasp slipped past my lips.
He was breathtakingly gorgeous. There was no other word for it.
Sharp cheekbones, a strong jaw, golden brown hair falling across his forehead. Even in his sleep, everything about him stood out, commanding attention.
A man like him seemed to be born to stand high above everyone else, like a king destined to be worshipped.
I felt something stir inside my chest but I shoved it down, completely ignoring it because the only reason I was here was because of my son.
I didn’t care about the prophecy. But I was here now and I needed to understand what I was dealing with.
“What are you doing here?”
A sharp and furious female voice suddenly interrupted me, and I quickly stepped back.
A woman dressed in elegant and luxurious clothes stood at the front, glaring at me as she continued to scold me.
“We have all been waiting for you downstairs! But look at you, you couldn’t even wait, could you?”
“At least change into something better! You really have no manners!”
The other women immediately followed.
“Who told her she was lucky enough to be chosen by Goddess?”
“That doesn’t change the fact that she is still just a murderer.”
The others continued criticizing me, but I didn’t really care. I simply lowered my gaze.
Then, the oldest woman among them, who clearly looked like the person in charge, stepped forward and held my hand.
“Enough. You must be Isadora, right? I am Caelen’s grandmother. You can call me that.”
“Since you are now the Luna, you need to take good care of your Alpha.”
I nodded.
For the first time, I finally felt a trace of kindness.
But at that moment, a servant suddenly screamed.
The Alpha, who had been unconscious on the bed, suddenly started convulsing. His face became paler and paler.
“Do something! Save my son!” The elegant woman shouted loudly.
Only then did I realize that she was the Alpha’s mother.
The grandmother, who had looked so calm just moments ago, now had tears in her eyes. She suddenly looked much older.
She must have had a very deep bond with Caelen.
My instincts kicked in before anything else. I stepped closer to the bed, I carefully reached out like I was afraid he would open his eyes any minute and pressed my fingers to his pulse point, feeling the steady beat of his heart.
Then I placed my hand on his chest and closed my eyes.
I felt my healing abilities flow through me. Warmth spread from my palm, seeping into his skin, connecting my body to his in a delicate manner that allowed me to sense his energy and life force.
It had been four years since I’d used my abilities.
Being locked up in a prison where my abilities were forbidden and dangerous, I thought it would take a while to figure them out again.
But it was flowing so naturally now.
Every inch of him felt like an open book to me. I could sense his heart beating, the soft, gentle…
My body jerked wildly when I felt something sharp prick against me.
A weird feeling shot up my spine, sending a shiver through me in a way that made me realize that something was wrong.
My eyes snapped open, a heavy frown creased my brows as I struggled to focus deeper, allowing my senses to push further into his body.
There was something in his blood. I could sense it.
Something dark and strange that shouldn’t be there.
Poison.
My blood ran cold.
The poison was subtle, almost invisible to anyone who wasn’t looking for it.
I looked around at the people in the room.
This pack was far more complicated than I had imagined. I didn’t want to get involved in their conflicts, but I couldn’t let the Alpha die on my first day here.
They would definitely never forgive me.
Most importantly…
I needed my child.
I placed my hand on the Alpha’s forehead and used my ability again. Slowly, he stopped convulsing, and I finally relaxed.
But the next second—
The Alpha suddenly turned his head to the side and spat out a mouthful of blood.
Blood started pouring from his ears, eyes, and nose.
Isadora’s POV.The room was quiet except for the soft sound of my own breathing.I stood by the bed, staring down at Caelen’s unconscious, naked body. His mother had left me alone with him, insisting I started caring for him immediately. The servants had brought in fresh water, a clean cloth and a basin.I was supposed to clean him.My face burned at the thought.I’d never done this before. I’d never touched a man like this. The only time I’d ever been this close to a man was that one night years ago, and that was in the darkness where I couldn’t see anything. But this was different. This was just a necessary duty.I could do it.His chest was broad and sculpted, muscles defined beneath his smooth skin. A thin line of dark hair trailed down his stomach, disappearing beneath the thin sheet covering his thighs.I swallowed hard and looked away. This was a bad idea. I shouldn’t be doing this. I should ask for a maid or anyone else. But if I refused, his mother would be suspicious. And I
Isadora’s POV.My heart stopped. Was he waking up? His dark eyes were open, staring right at me intensely. His grip on my wrist was iron-tight, his body pressing against mine with a warmth that made my skin burn.He was awake! My breath caught in my chest.“Alpha—“ I started hoarsely, my voice shaking. But then I saw it.His eyes looked unfocused and distant. Like he was looking through me and not at me. His body remained rigid, his muscles tense but there was no awareness in his gaze.He wasn’t awake. It was at that moment I realized that it was only a physical reaction, his nerves responding to my touch.I let out a shaky breath. My heart was still pounding, but I forced myself to calm down.“Just a reflex,” I whispered to myself. “He’s still unconscious.”I tried to pull my wrist free but his grip only tightened. His arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer against his chest.“Please,” I muttered as if he could hear me, struggling against him as best as I could. “Let me go.”
Isadora’s POV.“Alpha!!”“No no no...! She really is a murderer! She killed the Alpha!”“What exactly did this woman do?! Throw her into the dungeon!”Everyone’s voices echoed through the entire mansion, and almost immediately, the sound of hurried footsteps reached my ears. Within seconds, the room was flooded with people.Guards rushed in with their weapons drawn. Servants pressed against the doorframe, their faces filled with concern, and soon enough, people I assumed were members of the Alpha’s family rushed in.“Caelen! No, no, no!” Caelen’s mother fell to her knees beside the bed, her hands hovering over his convulsing body in confusion and her face turning deadly pale. “What happened? What did you do to him?”Her eyes snapped up to meet mine, accusingly.“I didn’t do anything.” I responded quickly as all eyes turned toward me. “He just… I…” I stuttered. My instincts told me that I couldn’t reveal the truth about the poison right now.“Liar!” She yelled, pointing at me with her

Isadora’s POV.“Prisoner 734,” the guard’s harsh voice called out. “You have visitors.”Visitors.My breath caught.I stood up slowly, brushing the dirt from my worn prison clothes as I followed the guard through the winding hallways. The prison walls didn’t feel like a cage anymore. The cold stone floors seemed almost warm beneath my feet. The guard stopped in front of a visitation room. “You have fifteen minutes.”The door opened and my eyes landed on three people seated at a table with grim expressions on their faces. My mother, Odessa, was dressed in an expensive silk blouse, pearl earrings with her hair perfectly styled.Beside her was my father, Edmund. He just sat there, staring at the wall with a blank expression on his face and his jaw clenched tightly. And Mason, my brother. He was seated close to the edge, his hands clasped in front of him. When our eyes met, he flinched and looked away.Without a word, I walked to the table and sat down across from them.“Isadora,” Mom sai
