LOGINIsadora’s POV.
“Alpha!!”
“No no no...! She really is a murderer! She killed the Alpha!”
“What exactly did this woman do?! Throw her into the dungeon!”
Everyone’s voices echoed through the entire mansion, and almost immediately, the sound of hurried footsteps reached my ears. Within seconds, the room was flooded with people.
Guards rushed in with their weapons drawn. Servants pressed against the doorframe, their faces filled with concern, and soon enough, people I assumed were members of the Alpha’s family rushed in.
“Caelen! No, no, no!” Caelen’s mother fell to her knees beside the bed, her hands hovering over his convulsing body in confusion and her face turning deadly pale. “What happened? What did you do to him?”
Her eyes snapped up to meet mine, accusingly.
“I didn’t do anything.” I responded quickly as all eyes turned toward me. “He just… I…” I stuttered.
My instincts told me that I couldn’t reveal the truth about the poison right now.
“Liar!” She yelled, pointing at me with her face twisted in rage.
“Nothing like this has ever happened before! You must have done something!”
“You need to give me an explanation.”
Even the grandmother looked at me with a murderous gaze, making me shiver.
“This is a good sign! A very good sign!”
A voice suddenly came from an elderly man who arrived late.
All eyes rested on an elderly man standing in the doorway. His face was lined with wrinkles, a silver and white robe was draped over his shoulders, and the ShadowFang emblem was stitched boldly on it.
He was definitely a high-ranking elder.
The crowd parted for him, bowing their heads slightly in respect as he walked slowly toward the bed, his eyes fixed on Caelen’s still body.
The guards forced me to my knees and held me down.
The elder leaned over Caelen, examining him carefully. He touched his forehead, his chest, and felt his pulse before he straightened up.
“Release her.” He commanded calmly.
The guards hesitated.
“She tried to kill the Alpha, Elder Corvus. She should be executed.” One of the guards pointed out.
“She just saved the Alpha from dying, so release her this instant.” The elder said with an authoritative tone that left everyone speechless. His eyes swept across the room, landing on each face.
“This woman has just done what none of the esteemed healers of all the seven packs could do for an entire year.” He added, and the crowd stared at me in disbelief.
After hearing those words, the grandmother became extremely emotional.
She hugged me, her eyes filled with guilt.
I gently patted her back and lowered my head.
“How did you do it? Your healing ability is truly extraordinary.” The elder asked me.
“How could a criminal possibly know healing techniques? Clearly, she is just putting on an act!” Caelen’s mother sneered.
“I only learned a little from the elders when I was young. What happened just now was merely a coincidence.”
I didn’t want to reveal too much.
This place was not safe.
Everyone believed my explanation without much doubt. After all, my background was too ordinary for them to suspect anything else.
“Looks like we still need to find the master healer. Her skills are absolutely unmatched in the world.”
When I heard that title, my eyes flickered slightly, and I quickly lowered my head.
The grandmother urged everyone to leave. Before she walked away, she held my hand.
“You truly are our blessing. You must take good care of him, alright?”
I nodded.
She took off her bracelet and handed it to me, insisting that I accept it.
I had no choice but to agree.
Finally, the room was left with only me.
I relaxed and took a shower.
Suddenly, there was another knock on the door.
When I opened it, I saw an unfamiliar handsome man standing there.
“Hello, I’m Fabian. I’m the Alpha’s brother. More accurately, his stepbrother.”
“Hello, I’m Isadora.”
I greeted him politely, but for some reason, his smile made me extremely uncomfortable.
“I know. The new Luna.”
Without waiting for my invitation, he walked into the room on his own.
At that moment, I had just changed into the new clothes they prepared for me, but they didn’t fit me well. His eyes wandered over my body without restraint, and the confidence on his face made me feel disgusted.
“You and my brother… It's such a pity. Maybe you could try something.”
“What kind of thing?”
I crossed my arms and followed his words, wanting to see what he was planning.
“If he dies, this pack will fall into my hands. Since he’ll never wake up anyway, why not end his suffering sooner? You need someone to protect you, don’t you?”
His gaze grew even more shameless as he stepped closer.
Then he reached out and lifted my chin.
Before he could finish his sentence, I grabbed his fingers and bent them backward with force.
A cry of pain immediately escaped his lips.
My years in prison hadn’t been wasted.
“You… how dare you!” he snarled, his face twisting in anger. “Do you even know what you’re doing?! Do you think I can’t make you leave this place right now?”
“If you continue this, I’ll tell the grandmother.”
“Do you really think he would believe you?” he sneered.
I pulled out my phone, revealing the recording that had captured everything.
The arrogance on his face instantly disappeared, replaced by panic.
“You’re truly… vicious.”
He glared at me, muttered a few threatening words under his breath, and finally turned around and left.
Everything returned to silence.
What a long day.
I reached into my pocket and took out the photo of my child.
It was the picture my mother had secretly slipped to me before. I knew why she gave it to me—to remind me of my purpose and warn me not to cause trouble.
I missed her so much.
I needed to rest well.
Tomorrow, I will bring her back to my side.
And this time, we would never be separated again.
I looked around the room.
There was clearly only one bed.
After hesitating for a moment, I finally lay down, exhaustion overwhelming me.
My body felt stiff and uncomfortable. After all, the Alpha and I were complete strangers, yet now we were forced to share the same bed.
My wolf stirred again.
That wasn’t normal.
Perhaps she was reacting to the overwhelming pressure I had experienced today.
Without realizing it, my eyes drifted back to the Alpha’s face.
He truly was the most handsome man I had ever seen.
Even while unconscious, there was something almost sacred about him.
The irony was that, somehow, a strange sense of familiarity and sympathy rose inside me.
He had been poisoned, his life was hanging by a thread, he remained unconscious, his own brother wanted to kill him and steal his position, and now he had a wife he had never even met.
Perhaps we were both equally unfortunate.
Perhaps that was why the Moonlight Stone had chosen me.
A soft laugh escaped my lips.
Just as I turned over, preparing to fall asleep, my wrist was suddenly caught.
A powerful force pulled me straight into the Alpha’s arms.
“Ah—!”
I gasped in shock.
And when I looked up, I saw the Alpha, Caelen, lying beside me on the bed, slowly opening his eyes.
Isadora’s POV.The room was quiet except for the soft sound of my own breathing.I stood by the bed, staring down at Caelen’s unconscious, naked body. His mother had left me alone with him, insisting I started caring for him immediately. The servants had brought in fresh water, a clean cloth and a basin.I was supposed to clean him.My face burned at the thought.I’d never done this before. I’d never touched a man like this. The only time I’d ever been this close to a man was that one night years ago, and that was in the darkness where I couldn’t see anything. But this was different. This was just a necessary duty.I could do it.His chest was broad and sculpted, muscles defined beneath his smooth skin. A thin line of dark hair trailed down his stomach, disappearing beneath the thin sheet covering his thighs.I swallowed hard and looked away. This was a bad idea. I shouldn’t be doing this. I should ask for a maid or anyone else. But if I refused, his mother would be suspicious. And I
Isadora’s POV.My heart stopped. Was he waking up? His dark eyes were open, staring right at me intensely. His grip on my wrist was iron-tight, his body pressing against mine with a warmth that made my skin burn.He was awake! My breath caught in my chest.“Alpha—“ I started hoarsely, my voice shaking. But then I saw it.His eyes looked unfocused and distant. Like he was looking through me and not at me. His body remained rigid, his muscles tense but there was no awareness in his gaze.He wasn’t awake. It was at that moment I realized that it was only a physical reaction, his nerves responding to my touch.I let out a shaky breath. My heart was still pounding, but I forced myself to calm down.“Just a reflex,” I whispered to myself. “He’s still unconscious.”I tried to pull my wrist free but his grip only tightened. His arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer against his chest.“Please,” I muttered as if he could hear me, struggling against him as best as I could. “Let me go.”
Isadora’s POV.“Alpha!!”“No no no...! She really is a murderer! She killed the Alpha!”“What exactly did this woman do?! Isadora’s POV.I never expected that the moment I walked out of prison, I would be sent directly to the pack without even going home first. It seemed that the Alpha really was close to death. It’s been three hours since Ronan drove out of prison grounds with me in the back seat of his car. I stared out the window, at the unfamiliar landscape rushing past us as my mind drifted to my daughter. The car drove past a massive iron gate and a spiraling dark structure built from stone rose from the ground before us.ShadowFang pack house was the largest I’d ever seen.As soon as we alighted, two young maids rushed forward to welcome us and Ronan turned to one of them,“Take her to her room.” He ordered, then he walked away without a single glance in my direction. The young maid bowed her head and led me inside.I followed her through the massive hallways and marveled at how grand everything was.The chandeliers, the staircase, the expensive furniture and even the wood that looked like it had
Isadora’s POV.“Prisoner 734,” the guard’s harsh voice called out. “You have visitors.”Visitors.My breath caught.I stood up slowly, brushing the dirt from my worn prison clothes as I followed the guard through the winding hallways. The prison walls didn’t feel like a cage anymore. The cold stone floors seemed almost warm beneath my feet. The guard stopped in front of a visitation room. “You have fifteen minutes.”The door opened and my eyes landed on three people seated at a table with grim expressions on their faces. My mother, Odessa, was dressed in an expensive silk blouse, pearl earrings with her hair perfectly styled.Beside her was my father, Edmund. He just sat there, staring at the wall with a blank expression on his face and his jaw clenched tightly. And Mason, my brother. He was seated close to the edge, his hands clasped in front of him. When our eyes met, he flinched and looked away.Without a word, I walked to the table and sat down across from them.“Isadora,” Mom sai
