Aaron or Noah?

last update Last Updated: 2025-08-03 17:42:33

Days passed, and with Ryan and Taylor gone, I felt like I had returned to my old routine. The house was awfully cold, quiet, and boring. I missed them, Ryan and Taylor.

I didn't see Aaron at all as he had either left early before I woke up, or late after I had retired to bed.

I was bored out of my mind and Noah’s sleepover invitation was fast becoming tempting. I mean, I trusted Noah, he was a gentleman and regardless of his feelings for me, he really wouldn't force me to do what I didn't want to do.

And when I hit him up to let him know I was taking up his offer, his excitement was through the roof.

I didn't do much with my dressing, just something casual. Noah wasn't picking me up today, I was driving to his.

As I walked downstairs, my eyes caught sight of Aaron, casually lounging on the couch. He turned to me almost immediately. And he smiled at me.

My heart skipped a beat.

“You’re finally down here,” he said cheerfully as I walked down.

My brows were furrowed. “Uhm… yeah, didn't k

“What did you have in mind when you suggested this?” I asked, still annoyed.“You choose”I scoffed. “You are so annoying,” I said, taking deep breaths to calm down so the next thing I say would be calm. “I wanted to talk, laugh, and maybe even drink a little. The way Ryan and I used to, it's been so boring in the house since he and Taylor left and when you suggested this, I got too excited. I forgot for a moment that you are who you are,” I said then ended it with a hiss.“And that is?”“Huh?”“Who do you think I am?”“A grumpy arrogant bore” I replied sharply. He nodded. “Teach me”“What?”“Teach me to be the way you want and how to do the things you want to do,” he said very calmly and seriously. My eyes flickered in surprise. “Really?”He stated plainly at me, the stare that was usually his way of affirmation.“Do you know how to keep up with a conversation?”“I try,” he drawled lazily.“Then let's talk”“Why did you and Noah break up? And most importantly, why is he still in you

  • The Stranger I Met On The Altar   Do you think i like you?

I wasted no time getting out of my car when I got home. I practically ran into the house, shamelessly. It was already past 11pm, and I wondered if Aaron was still waiting or if he had gone to bed after waiting for me for a while. My heart sank when I found the sitting room empty. He wasn’t there.Had he been here for a while and angrily gone back to his room? Or what if he wasn’t home?I couldn’t hide the disappointment I felt as I paced around the sitting room looking at the stairs like he would magically appear there. The former me would have just gone to my room to sleep and probably wallow in agony alone, but this me was different. I was bold, desperate, and forward. And so I climbed the stairs and instead of heading to my usual west wing, I headed for the east wing. For the first time.My palms were already sweaty by the time I got to his door. I paused for a while, eyes closed, taking short deep breaths. Then I knocked. And waited. No answer.I knocked again, harder this time, I

  • The Stranger I Met On The Altar   Chapter 59

Chapter 59ELIZABETH’S POV“What do you think about spending a night at mine?” Noah asked.I raised a shocked eyebrow at him.“No no,” he said with his hands raised. “I mean no harm. Nothing will happen, except of course you want it to” he said with a wink.I rolled my eyes. “Yeah Noah, not happening”“I mean it—just as old friends. Nothing much, we could watch a movie like old times, joke, laugh. You will sleep in a different bedroom. And I promise not to act the way I acted last time, you know the kiss and all. You are a married woman and I respect that”“Finally decided to back off?”“Not a chance babe, I'm not backing off. I'm just giving you time” he said with a broad smile.I scoffed as I opened the car door and got down. “I will think about it,” I said as he would down the glass. I leaned a little. “Thank you for today Noah. It was amazing. As usual” I said, blew him a kiss, and went inside. As I walked in, my heart beat faster and I wondered if I would see Aaron in the sittin

  • The Stranger I Met On The Altar   Chapter 58

Chapter 58.“Pumpkin” came Noah’s voice immediately i picked his call.“Hey Noah, you good?” I asked, my tone was heavy due to my mood but I hoped he didn't notice.“I’m not good. I miss you” he said in a low shaky voice that tugged at my heartstrings, not romantically but out of pity.I didn't want Noah feeling like this, I didn't want him having feelings for me, and I didn't deserve it. I didn't deserve his unwavering love. Here I was, ignoring someone who loves me and pining over someone who didn't give a shit about me. That spoke volumes about my foolishness and just goes to show that Noah deserved a better woman. When I didn't reply, he continued. “What are you doing? Can I see you today?” he asked.“Uhm…” I contemplated. I wasn't doing anything at home. My buddies, Ryan and Taylor weren't home. The only one at home was repulsed by my presence.Instead of sitting at home, doing nothing but wonder if I wasn't good enough for Aaron, maybe I should just stroll out.“What do you have

  • The Stranger I Met On The Altar   Chapter 57

Chapter 57.Aaron was working on his laptop, looking engrossed as his brows furrowed in concentration. I stared at him from the staircase, looking desirable as always. The way his fingers worked on the keyboard briskly and expertly, how serious he looked, and how his eyes squinted sometimes as if trying to see something clearer.I don't know how long I stood there just watching him, but he seemed to notice my presence. He raised his head and saw me. His gaze lingered a bit before he gave me a nod of acknowledgment and returned to his work.I sighed. Today I wasn't getting that small smile that I liked. But at least he acknowledged me.I walked downstairs and sat on the couch beside him. He didn't look up from his laptop.“Aaron…” he raised his index finger as if signalling me to stop talking. So I paused and just stared at him. After a few minutes, he finally raised his head from his laptop, and he looked at me as if signalling me to continue.I swallowed. This man had a way of comple
