Matteo stepped out of Rose’s room, his heart soaring.

Things were going to get better between him and Romilda. They would rebuild what had been broken, and he wouldn’t waste the second chance he’d been given.

Just as he was about to turn down the corridor toward his room, he ran into Letty. Seeing him come out of Rose’s room immediately made his sister suspicious.

“Where were you? Romilda’s room?” Letty pressed.

The man nodded. “Yes, is there a problem? The lawyer is coming today.”

“Lawyer?” Letty's eyes widened. “Don’t tell me you…”

“I already did what was asked.” Matteo's voice sounded uneasy. "So I want to settle this as soon as possible."

Letty grabbed his arm. “Is she still a virgin?”

“I’ll be the one to tell the lawyer later.”

“What’s wrong with you? Is it that hard to answer me? I’m your sister, Matteo.”

Matteo grew more uncomfortable under Letty’s pressure. “Why don’t you think about how I feel?”

Truthfully, Matteo wanted to get away from Letty. He already felt like a traitor
