PROLOGUE

It was right then and there that my life change. Change by the sound of heels walking on a marble floor.

That fucking clicking sound and nothing else.

Everybody in the room held their breath – me included.

It felt like time stood still only to be interrupted by the sound of those heels. I was getting anxious – wanting to look back at the person making the sound. But also fucking afraid to do so as well. I could hear them come closer and my heart started pounding in my chest.

Then the sound stopped. And the silence almost consumed me.

Then someone finally spoke and announced: “Supreme alpha”

The words were spoken from our trainer, general and beta Mathias. As soon as the words were spoken everybody dropped on the knee with their head bowed in respect.

And then that sound started again.

“Click” “click” “click” “click” – and then utter silence.

I tilted my head just a bit to see where the sound went and to my surprise the source of the sound was standing right in front of me.

High red heels and bare toned long legs that seem to go on forever. I couldn’t stop myself and my eyes started examining every inch of her body starting from those heels. Her body was long slim and fit and unbelievable build. And before it occurred to me what I was doing I was staring straight at the supreme alpha’s face.

She raised one eyebrow looking back at me and I sensed I smile behind her eyes, but she said nothing. I was about to speak when beta Mathias interrupted my thought.

“LUKE – head down in respect of the supreme alpha – NOW!”
