Chapter 38: The test

“Cara why did you…” the words she wanted to ask died down in her throat when she saw four ferocious looking dogs snarling at her and Cara nowhere in sight.

“Cara!” Amelia yelled in horror. “Cara, where are you, please take me back to the library,” she pleaded.

“Grrrr!” the dogs growled at her and they immediately charged.

“Ahhh!” Amelia yelled and she started to run. “Cara, get me out of here,” she yelled and she increased her speed.

It was however a futile effort as the dogs who were much faster surrounded her in no time.

“Ahhh, protector, now would be a good time for you to come out,” she muttered.

However, nothing happened. Her hair didn’t change colour nor did her clothes. The dog immediately pounced on her.

“Ahhh!” Amelia yelled when the dog dug its claws in her shoulder, causing her to bleed.
