Lyons"Who is she?" Keegan asked when he came to the conference room with me.
Rather than answer, I focused on setting up my laptop for the conference. I am with a lot of SHE and I am sure that he does not want the information on all of SHE that, once I was with. He wants to know about only one SHE. So he needs to specify which one SHE was referring to?
I could explain this to him, but right now, this conference is important.
"The woman wearing blue... with Whitfield," Keegan said again.
"Campbell girl," I replied.
"Campbell has a daughter?" Keegan got caught. Even I'd be surprised that she's Campbell.
"I don't believe she is a Campbell, except for the hair colour that matches Derek." I indirectly agreed that I did a small research on my teasing nymph.
"I hope you stay away from the family." I heard his discomfort. It means he knows about the call for tenders. He knows I'm thinking about Travis Campbell for the job. But who said anything to my best friend? That's my own business. He's responsible for the dry ports. His business.
"What did Haley say?" I drop everything and centralize the interests of my best friend.
"Haley is more than your secretary... She is your cousin..... a family. She's worried about you all the time. She mentioned the tender and Travis Campbell to Gina."
"I have no problem with family. It's just business." I assured him, but his concern was evident. He was with me when the place fell apart. He's always been on my side. Meeting him the first time wasn't great, but we worked, after all, we were a team.
"But I have a lot of problems against them." Sneering, Keegan looked around. "Whitfield was with her?" he asked me as he pressed my biceps.
"Which her?"
He sighed with frustration. "That woman in blue..... Her legs were short... but believe me, sexy."
Woman in blue. He's talking about Honour... her skin looks soft. Smooth. Just like Honey. I wonder what her taste would be. Keegan just described her as sexy. I could envision her smooth legs wrapped around my waist, pulling me near her forbidden territory. She is related to Campbell.
"I thought, you are a man of commitment," I said, attempting to control my wild imagination about my nymph. "Gina should be aware of that. After all, she's your fiancé."
"Dude... she's sexy. There's nothing wrong with that. But my Gina is incredible." He spoke of his bride-to-be in adoration.
Thud.
One hand came to our attention. Maybe the owner of that has lost his head somewhere in the Marina trench. At the end of the world.
"Lyons." That's Chance Whitfield.
"Whitfield." Keegan and I looked at his face and there he was.
"I didn't like the way you looked at my fiancée." Whispering, "You're too old for her." Whitfield said.
Well, yes, I want her, but that doesn't mean I can have her. She's related to Campbell and as far as I'm concerned, getting involved with a Campbell is a no-no topic.
"Said the man who was screwing someone else before he met his fiancée." Keegan made fun of him.
"Your fiancée is none of my business," I said no to the conversation.
Talking to Whitfield is not my cup of tea. He doesn't resemble a man his own age. People of his generation are open-minded, willing to explore, willing to learn, yet Whitfield gives me the aura of arrogance.
Honour seems too innocent for him, I'm not sure whether she can handle the Whitfield family. What's the matter with THIS Whitfield? Chance Whitfield. He was possessive about her half an hour ago, when we all know he is not the kind of man who would settle with a woman.
Chance
WhitfieldMy blood came to a boil. The fact that Lyons rejected the conversation offended me. That's not how anyone treats me. Not even Chandler Lyons... and as far as Keegan Byrne is concerned, I should do something. Byrne mocks me and hides behind Lyons.
"Where have you been?" Chase called.
"I'm thinking." I snapped, but I don't want anybody to see us. This side of me.
"I'm not your subject." Chase travelled to our signature Whitfield behaviours.
We both look at each other before taking our seat. We sat across from Lyon and Byrne. These shitheads aren't like us, but I have to tolerate 'em. Especially Lyons.... who doesn't have any family background. He has no idea how a classy person behaves.
I survived that lecture on saving the local river. I don't understand why we're the ones... The businessman is to blame for that? Why are they blaming' us? I agree, we dump our waste, but we need a site to dispose of the waste. If we were given a substitute... especially cheaper, we would definitely take it. I don't think anyone likes to drink contaminated water. Therefore, they should be focusing on their options rather than blaming us for dumping waste in the water.
"I collected this for you." Chase threw a file on my chest, without looking at me. Nothing new, this is how we behave most of the time, after our tacit arguments.
"What on earth is that?"
"You like this girl Campbell." Chase lifted her eyebrows. "I heard the conversation you had with Chad and Keegan... that's her history. My people work well. Trade with them for...", he pointed at the file. "This."
"I'm not going to share her with you." I've cleared up my plans for her. "Neither with Dad."
"I don't need her... But today, she has succeeded in attracting the attention of three men. So I don't think Dad would agree with that."
I watched Lyon and Byrne. They were all set to go. I have a problem with Lyons. That blush on her cheeks is mine and no one else's.
"I will take of Dad and everyone else." I felt confident.
"And what about HER?" That question was powerful enough to get on my nerves. What about HER? He is the only one who knows this heinous secret of mine.
"SHE has the right to stay. My offer is still on the table... She cannot give me any sons, so I am the luckiest man in the world to have both of them." While taking the file, I left my brother and ran into my car. Tonight I have a great deal to read.
I was impatient, excited, so I sent my driver and bodyguards back and drove to my penthouse. I don't want any distractions.
Without wasting time, I ordered dinner and showered before settling everything I needed, including dinner... and I was ready to learn more about her.
I read and highlighted important points about her. It was no big deal. But, her birthdate, her birth certificate... even her absence at the family reunion. It just got awkward. She looks like none of her siblings nor her parents. By calculating the age difference between her and Vivianne Campbell, one thing was confirmed... Honour is the result of an evening of passion for the Campbell couple. Because Mrs Campbell is too old to have Honour. She probably conceived Honour at a late age. Honour is too young.
Honour is the only sister to the Campbell brothers. What happened to them tonight? They left their young and beautiful sister on their own to travel at night. Luckily, one of my bodyguards dropped her home safely. Another thing I had a problem with, was her address. She doesn't live with the family or anywhere next to them. Campbell is very secretive. But I had nothing to do with this family. I want this little girl to tremble under me. I like the way she looks. Maybe I'll enjoy fucking her.
HonourCampbellI even changed my clothes, but none of this is comfortable. I don't wear dresses, I prefer jeans. They help me work in the vineyard and I even ran with them wherever I could. In fact, I brought a pair of shoes for better movement. Now, Nutty loves me more. I'm a runner with her."That dress was unbelievable," commented Iris entering the bedroom."I'm really comfortable with it." I admire the fabric of the perfect red knee-length dress. Nobody can beat Iris about fashion. She knows what adorable fashion stands for."Then we should buy you some new dresses... change yourself. More comfortable clothes... Wearing jeans can help you move, but you can be sometimes sweaty." Iris suggests. She respected my choice and Star still supports... Overall, I have the best woman in my life."But we can't leave at weekends... I'm learning to drive.""This is progress." Whistling Star came in with his husband and daughter. She was holding a box... especially a jewellery box. "I was searc
DerekCampbell"Stop worrying... She'll be fine." Vivianne massaged my shoulder. But that's not helpful. Nothing is going to help."Do you have to?" I asked."What is there to do?" Questioning, she stopped her massage. "Are you in need of a good massage? I can arrange it for you." She was concerned."This marriage business.""Of course, one day she'll marry somebody." She was laughing. I couldn't stand this side of her. She acts like nothing happened when the whole thing happened. She won't consider it. The truth."She's old enough to come up with a good life partner." I tried to convince her. We have the upper hand in this deal. We can withdraw at any time. No matter if it's after the wedding. Even so, that's after a child is born. A signal from Honour and I'll take our name off the agreement."She's still so immature... do you remember what she did three years ago?""I remember... you don't let us forget it. But she worked hard on it. She doesn't even have any friends." My voice goe
ChanceWhitfieldThe voice mails on my home number was bombarded with unwanted messages."This is too much." Infuriating, I smashed my phone on the wall. Fuck!!! "I need another phone."Hurrying to the laptop, I emailed Chase. I need a new cellphone as soon as possible. Picking up the pieces from my broken phone, I was retrieving the required pieces when my laptop chimed for the arrival of e-mail. Chase is faster sometimes.I went through e-mails when again I noticed these junk emails. I was about to smash my laptop too when my landline rang, and I was forced to calm myself.Breathing for relaxation, I received the call and greeted the person with my award-winning voice, but no response. What the hell?I got so frustrated in the middle of the day by doing nothing. Being the weekend, I was obliged to give holidays to the staff otherwise they would all have to work day and night. They are all efficient, and I know they can manage their personal lives equally well while working on weeken
ChandlerLyons"Why do my siblings hate you?" I was blown away by her question. She's no relative of Campbell, SHE'S A CAMPBELL. They are her brothers. So why doesn't she resemble any of them? She's the only one with the same hair as her father... Derek Campbell.I looked at her to come up with the answer to my question. Maybe she got adopted into the family. I don't think she's Campbell. Despite my claim to move from past events, I'm still stuck with my resentment toward the family. No Campbell is ever innocent. If she's a Campbell, that means the old man is a Campbell as well. I didn't read the name of the property when I walked in. Shit!! I am in a Campbell property. I'm a fool, I paid Rogers to investigate for her address, but not for her details. Rogers is precise when it comes to words. He does what he's asked to do, nothing more."Are you their sister?" I eventually managed to form words... more precisely a statement. Please my nymph say no."Well, I'm the youngest." She was sc
HonourCampbellPushing the trolley, I whistled for Nutella. She run towards me but soon beat me and left me alone to pull the trolley to the sorting table next to the Wine cellar that has a capacity of holding just 500 bottles. Rest bottles are in the cellar near the city. The sky is about to get dark, and I should be home with Papa. I do not fear the dark, because the vineyard is always filled with workers. They will help me, whenever I will ask. We give them a place to stay here as we need guards to secure our vineyards. Papa told me the story of how a thunderbolt hit the only Oaktree and the whole 20 acres of vineyards about to turn into ashes, but it was saved. Now it's thriving and twice as large.Leaving the wagon at the sorting table, I picked up my bike and whistled back to Nutella. She barked to announce her whereabouts as I was still calling to inform her of my position. Soon I heard her paws beating on the ground to get to me.Like a good girl, Nutella was waiting for her
HonourCampbell"I hate you," I screamed at the grey clouds, which made fun of me with thunder."It will hate you more. Kiddo." I heard a deep voice chuckling. This is a man, who is laughing at me."I am not a kid." I groan like a frustrated child, without looking at the silhouette behind me. People looked at me like I was a kid. For crying out loud, I'm already 18. I'm an adult, I know what's bad and what's good."Why don't you stop somewhere? It's going to take time, kid." He really advised me when I was walking away.I turned around and found myself in front of the garage. Dark one. My fears came to the surface. The presence of a stranger didn't help my case. I'm already late, and I was worried about Nana and Papa. They're my safety net. Only family I ever had. But I knew this would help every one of us."Mr......" I walked into the new temporary shelter and looked around to call him. I had little hope, but I had no option. I had to take this risk. It's raining like crazy. I'm terr
