Chapter 10

I smirked. "I'm gonna beat your ass." I said confidently.

He shook his head before chuckling. He entered a few coins, before speaking up. "Don't be so cocky now." He smirked at me, as he dropped my bag beside his feet.

The game counts down.

Go!

Immediately, I took a ball and aimed my shot. I screamed in victory inside of my mind as It entered the ring. I grabbed another one and shot it. It went in again.

After a few moments, the timer was beginning to run out. A few of my shots didn't make it, but most of them did. My hand was trying it's best to shoot perfectly, but the timer ringed out loud.

My score was twenty-two. I glanced at Renz's score and felt my face dropped. He had thirty-six. "Man! What the fuck?" I raised my arms and dropped them in frustration.

"Okay, cheater." I crossed my arms and glared at him.

"Hey! I didn't cheat. I just happened to be the captain of the basketball team." He replied confidently.

I narrowed my eyes even more. "Of course you are!" I rolled my eyes at him.

"Okay. Stop the tantrum now." He grabbed my wrist and my bag before walking me. We both stopped infront of a Tekken 6 game.

This game was my childhood. I remember playing them every single time I'm in an arcade.

"Figured you liked these type of games," he said. "So why not let you beat me in your game this time."

He didn't have to wait a single second.

The whole game, he lost. He never won. But he can't trick me, I know damn well he lost on purpose. What a freak.

When we played a few more games, we eventually ran out of coins. But he brought us one for one more game.

It was so much fun than I expected it to be. The last thing I expect from a sheriff's son is to be fun.

All that left my mouth was sounds of laughters and giggles. My mouth was starting to hurt from all the grinning.

I've never felt so happy in my life before. It almost feels as if I've known Renz since forever, when in reality, I've only known him for a few hours.

If someone told me I'd be having fun with the sheriff's son a few hours ago, I would tell them that they are crazy. But here we are.

This moment felt like the first breath of fresh air I've had in centuries.

After grandfather and grandmother's death, I was already miserable. Then mom and dad's fighting got worse, making my metal health worse too.

"One more game, then we'll get going." I plead him. When he sighed, I grinned in victory.

I grabbed his arm and dragged him to the last game we are playing. My pace increased in excitement as he followed me like a lost puppy.

He looked at the game.

"Dance Dance Revolution?" he read out loud. "You've got to be kidding me."

I just rolled my eyes at him. "Come on. Just try it!" I whined to him.

When he finally gave up, we both stepped on the stage. I entered the last few coins that we have and got ready as my hands tightly gripped the railing.

Get set go!

I kept my eyes on the screen the entire time. My feet was pounding the dance floor. Hard. I felt a drop of sweat drip down my temple to my cheek. I can practically feel the stomping of Renz's feet too.

I stepped up my game and spun around, my eyes still on the floor. The steps were getting harder each time.

My heartbeat was beating so fast. Almost as fast as the one I felt when I was being chased down by the drug dealers. Something in my chest burned, but it felt good.

My feet stomped hard for the last time. A beeping noise came from the dance machine, while it computes our scores.

I can hear Renz breathing hardly as I felt my chest burn in sensation.

The final score came on screen. Mine flashed 98 percent accuracy. I quickly turned my head at Renz's screen. 97 percent.

"YESS! HA! TAKE THAT. YOU LOST!" I pointed a finger at him. He shakes his head before trying to catch his breath.

When his breathing got somewhat worse, i was starting to get worried. "Don't you need your inhaler?" I worriedly asked him.

He placed both his hands on his knees, panting." Nah. I got this. I only need it when things shocks me." he replied.

I nodded, a relief feeling burst inside my body.

Suddenly, I saw a man touching a girl's head. She seemed really uncomfortable.

The same guy I saw exit a Ferrari.

"Psst." I took Renz's attention, when I did, I pursed my lips and pointed it to the guy's direction.

"Don't touch me." She pouts.

She bows her head down, obviously uncomfortable by the situation she's currently in.

My eyes widened when I suddenly saw Renz enter my view. He was facing the guy's back. They were in the same height. But the guy's body was a lot bigger.

I stepped out of the stage and walked towards them.

"Man. Come on, let her go." Renz nudged his shoulder. He spun around, a huge scar on his forehead, and a not so happy look on his face.

He suddenly grabbed Renz's hoodie and lifted it. "Mind your own fucking business dawg." He snarled with so much hatred.

"You're the one to talk." I snapped. I looked at the terrified girl. She was beginning to shake. "You're touching the girl without her consent, and yet you're telling people to mind their own business when you couldn't mind yours." I spat out angrily at him.

People like him are so goddamn disgusting. I genuinely can't understand why they do these type of things to innocent and clueless girls.

"Listen here you little bitch."
