Rayan POV We sat there in the library of the Hidden Stream Packhouse as Jennifer repeatedly tried locating her sister & my mate. She said there was a cloaking spell acting as a barrier so she was having trouble getting through. She never stopped trying though. Knowing that those responsible for taking my mate had her sister as well was motivation enough for her. The only time she took a break from trying to breakthrough the cloaking spell was to track her niece & nephew. When she found them, she summoned her father, King Benji to go get them. I insisted he take Ronan with him, as this was just as much a wolf problem as it was a witch problem. He reluctantly agreed. As Jen worked her magic, a bright green light flashed from the side of the room, & I knew they'd returned. Ronan was in a pair of basketball shorts & covered in blood upon their return. He gave me a nod & I didn't have to ask. He had killed the wolves responsible for holding Jessica's family hostage
Genevieve POV (Maeva's POV will be under her real name, Genevieve from this point forward) I woke up to the setting sun streaming a beautiful light pink light into the room. This place was absolutely beautiful. I had never been anywhere besides Red Clay & Peacekeeper territory before, so this was definitely a new experience for me. There was a knock on the door shortly after I woke, so I opened it with a smile. A fae girl named Lily came to get me for dinner, & we walked through the halls which were twinkling with sparkling lights. Lily was gorgeous, she had platinum blonde waist length hair, high, shimmered cheek bones & a pointed nose & ears like Crysanthi. The points on her ears weren't nearly as long as Crysanthi's, & had no designs. They were solid green tips. She was much shorter than Crysanthi as well, & slightly shorter than me. She didn't talk to me really, keeping her answers to my questions short. When we got to the dining hall, she opened the door & bo
Rayan POV The next 5 days dragged by. I tried to will time to speed up, finding meaningless tasks to occupy my time with, but it was no use. I even went shopping with Nicollette, Gwen & Jen so they could get my mate Christmas & Birthday gifts. They had never met her so they had no idea what kind of things she enjoyed. I told them that she was a simple girl, & not at all the Princesses they were. I also told them that between the gifts Ronan & I had gotten her, there was really nothing more she needed, but ofcourse, they insisted they get her something. They each decided on jewelry, some clothes & gift cards. My mate was going to have more things than she knew what to do with. Benji left, saying he'd be back for Christmas & to meet the child that was basically his granddaughter, since his son had raised her, & I talked him into portalling Ronan back to the academy when he did. Ronan had gathered my Princess's gifts & drove back to Hidden Stream with them, so that we would
Genevieve POV The days flew by as I trained with the fae warriors in the morning & Crysanthi in the afternoons. We spent most evenings after dinner drinking fae wine & giggling like school girls. I learned quite a bit about not just the fae, but other supernaturals from Crysanthi & Azak. I spent my mornings & my nights linking with Rayan, though our evening chats were usually longer than the morning ones. He was incredibly bored waiting on me to come back, but I was enjoying myself. Sure I missed him, but there was so much for me to learn here. Gia was enjoying her freedom as well. The first time I let her loose to run, the shift was quite painful & slower than it had previously been. She said we both just needed to get used to it again. Crysanthi & Azak were right there next to me though, watching carefully with eyes full of worry. Once I had fully shifted into the beautiful white wolf with silver markings, she stretched & shook out her fur before taking off running. I
Rayan POV My princess was back in my arms, & all was right in the world again. I hadn't brought up the subject of the prick in the basement yet, but I didn't want to spoil the mood. Everyone was in high spirits with my mate's return, but no one more than me. I was laying there, with her on my chest as the first rays of sun began streaming in through the window. Normally she would be up by now, insisting on a morning jog. I suppose giving her wolf the freedom she needs had eased her restlessness. I had slept for a few hours, but I was wide awake now as I watched the sleeping beauty on my chest, mesmerized by her every feature. It still amazed me that a creature so small, delicate & beautiful could be so dangerous & deadly. I had never actually seen her fight, but I had watched her train the other students so I knew she was capable of causing a fair amount of destruction. "Good morning, my King." She opened her eyes & smiled up at me. "Good morning, my princess.
Genevieve POV After training Ray took me to do some shopping so I could get gifts for my family. He was still a little shook up from my ability to take him down so easily, but after we talked about it he seemed fine. We put up the tree with my family that evening, & my sister & Zaio came over to help. It was nice doing family things with my real family, but I still missed Daniel- well, Joseph. He was the only family I had had my entire life. Having his sisters around helped ease the pain a bit though. Ray & I attempted to make his apple crumble once more, & when Jennifer realized what we were doing, she grabbed the ground cloves from the spice cabinet & tossed them to us. Ray caught it & looked at her questioningly & she just smiled. "It's missing something, right?" She smiled at us knowingly. We both laughed & she told us to add just a pinch to the crumble. Turns out, she was right. The crumble came out just like he used to make it. We had it for desert af
Rayan POV Cecilia being awake was certainly a shock to all of us. But honestly, I wasn't surprised. My girl had more power than she could possibly ever know. She had accidentally saved herself from Clay, & accidentally woken up her mother. It made me laugh to think about it. This powerful but tiny little wolf had managed to completely change & save so many lives already, mine included. The academy would never be the same again, not if she had any say in it, and she did, she had every say. I'd make sure of it. She definitely wasn't the queen I'd always imagined my mate would be, but she was better. She would change the way the kingdom operates in the best way possible. She would ensure that we were strong & united. Hell, she'd already started working her magic with the future Alphas of the kingdom. She would be a respected Queen, & though the council would attempt to argue it, she was born to do this. I knew that was another fight I would have to face. The damn council
Rayan POV As we made it to the border gate I ducked behind a tree to shift back. Luckily this pack had been here longer than I'd been alive, so most of the trees had holes in them with stashes of clothes. I put on a pair of jogging shorts & walked over to the gate where Donahue stood. I'm sure he had attempted to command his way through the gate, but Gavin was the Alpha of this pack, & Donahue's commands couldn't override his. Councilman Donahue was a proud & arrogant man. This was made apparent by the way he stood tall with his chest poked out as if he was better than everyone around him. He stood around 6'4" with dark hair & eyes. He also had that stupid mustache that I hated. I never understood why he kept it, it made him look stupid as it sat upon the hardened feature of his face. Nothing about him was pleasant, not even his fake smile. He appeared shocked to see me at first, though he recovered his stone cold gaze quickly. He didn't know I was here, which meant
