I'm so excited to start writing from character POVs! Here we go!
They all made their way out of the auditorium, all of the students laughing & talking about the school year they were starting. Many of the unmated females made eyes at Dimitri before glaring at Maeva who was walking next to him. Though she was pretending to ignore her, Maeva could hear Andy speaking loudly about her as she exited the building. She was telling the other girls not to be jealous because Maeva isn't anything special, that she was just a "mid-rank skank." She could feel Dimitri's eyes on her as she took a deep breath & rolled her eyes. She wouldn't let Andy get to her & get her kicked out of the academy before the school year even started. She could hear the other girls laughing, asking why she was hanging out with a high ranked clique & Andy was telling them that Stella must've felt sorry for her since she had been stuck sharing a room with her this school year. She had even gone as far as to indicate that Maeva must have done some "special favors" for the Headmaster to g
Dimitri POV "AH FUCK!" I couldn't help but scream. The shooting pain that went down my arm and across my chest was almost unbearable. But the embarrassment of my pain was worth it when she laughed. She was easily the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen & her smile was memorizing. I'd barely had time to register that she told me my knee would hurt worse than my shoulder did before she was straddling me. My breath caught in my throat as she scooted herself up closer to me, & before I could stop myself, my eyes darted to her beautiful deep red luscious lips. I breathed in her scent of melted caramel & my mouth immediately began to water. I can't help but wonder if she tastes as good as she smells. Having her on top of me, being this close to her mouth with her scent enveloping me was intoxicating. I wanted her, bad. Sure she had just kicked my ass like it was nothing, but for me, it just added to her appeal. Tiny she-wolves like her were usually fragile little creatures, b
Stella POV One by one everyone went up against Maeva, & each time she'd won. After her 4th knock out her opponents started tapping as soon as they'd hit the ground. Each time she would land a devastating blow Eddie would squeeze my shoulder. I noticed that she kept the advantage by using her feet. Whereas most of the guys were apprehensive about her fighting skills, I couldn't help but be completely astonished by her. Her skills were unlike anything I had ever seen before. My brother had been the only one of her opponents who had lasted more than 5 minutes, but even still, she had managed to take him down. Though she had done it alot easier than the others, she still told him to tap as she took him to the ground. He complied, knowing she didn't want to hurt him any more than she already had. He told her how exceptional she was as she helped him up, and he wasn't wrong. There wasn't an Alpha or warrior student that could stand against her. The Deltas had saved the female
Maeva POV As Stella walked away nervousness began to take me over. I suddenly wasn't sure what to say or how to act. David was the only guy I'd ever been alone with willingly & he was just a friend. I had no idea what I was supposed to do around a guy I liked. As I thought about it images of being alone with Gamma Clay started coming to the forefront of my mind, & suddenly I was sinking. My stomach felt as though an anchor had been placed in it & my lungs were burning as though there was no air for them to take in. "Maeva, Maeva!" Dimitri was shouting while he shook me. "Yea, what is it? What's wrong?" I asked him as he shook me back from the depths. "Are you OK? What happened?" He asked me, his face full of concern, as he ran his thumb under my eye slowly. "What do you mean? I'm right here. I haven't moved," I answered confused. He looked at me curiously as he ran his other thumb under my other eye. "Maeva, love, you zoned out on me. You we
Ronan POV Maeva Thompson. Something was different about her, something special. I couldn't quite put my finger on it though. Yea, she's a highly skilled warrior, possibly the best I've seen this century, but there was something more. I felt pushed to protect her, compelled to keep her safe & happy. I know it's not a mate bond pull, I don't see her that way. But she had quickly become one of my favorite students, & I would protect her at all costs. Seeing her in Dimitri's arms standing in the dinner line angered me, though not in a possessive manner. I suppose I was more afraid that she would open her heart to him, only to have it broken when he found his mate. He's almost 19, & an Alpha. Though he had become impatient when it came to finding his mate, he would find her, & Maeva's pure teenage heart would be broken when she lost him. "Maeva, Alpha Dimitri, how are the 2 of you this evening?" I asked them. I suppose I was glaring at Dimitri as he stood there with his a
Ronan POV It was well after lights out in the dormitories before I finally climbed into bed. I'd spent the last 3hrs pacing my apartment, lost in thought. It wasn't until I finally laid down to sleep that I realized that these feelings of restlessness & anxiety weren't my own. No, these feelings belonged to Rayan, my brother, my King. He could usually contain his emotions so they weren't projected onto me, after being bonded to him for over 5 centuries we had both learned to control our emotions so we didn't usually feel eachother's, so something must really be bothering him if he was spiraling like this. I reached for our bond & opened the link. Maybe if he talks about it he'll calm down enough for me to get some sleep. "You alright brother? What's on your mind?" I asked him casually. "I'm doing well, why what's up man?" He responds coolly, not wanting me to know that he's bothered like the King he is. "Your not alright man, somethings bothering y
Maeva POV I woke up early this morning & decided to go for a jog. I could use the silence & the release before the real work got started today. Yesterday might have been the first official day of school, but it was basically just an introduction day. Today, the real training & learning would start, & the excitement running through my veins needed a release. The sun hadn't even risen yet as I stepped out of the dorms into the courtyard. It was a cool morning, unlike the incredibly humid ones we had in Georgia. I did my usual stretches before heading into the woods to jog through the forest. Although I didn't know the terrain, I let my senses guide me through. For the past 3 years, this is as much running as Gia got to experience, but it kept her from getting too restless as she stayed chained up in the depths of my mind so I didn't mind doing this for her. She had happily sacrificed the little freedom she had for me when my dad died, allowing me to put her on a cha
Maeva POV When I got to the training field Delta Anderson waved me over to him. He was a tall man, easily 6'8" and had the greenest eyes you've ever seen. I'd noticed he always kept his shoulder length blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail. He gave me a friendly smile when I approached him, & I felt that he was as excited to get started as I was. "Hey Maeva, the Beta linked me & said that your all set to start today. Are you excited? I know I am. You've really got alot of skills to teach." He said to me with a grin. "I am. Where would you like to start?" I asked him. "Well I was thinking we could start with some basics. I noticed yesterday that you have excellent foot work, so I'd like to start there. Maybe show them how to do some basic kicks if that's OK with you?" He asked. "Yea, that sounds good. Everyone should have some kicks in their arsenal." I replied to him. "Awesome, you can demonstrate on me, just try not to break anything." H
