Chap.3*The Psycho She Married*

After a few minutes of him constantly staring at her from across the glass door, he finally turned around and left for his room, only to bring out his phone and start recording himself.

She was flopped down on the couch on the terrace in freezing cold weather. A frown appeared on her forehead when she tried to understand what he was really up to. Once he was done with his cellphone, he left for the room.

Her heart was still beating loudly in her chest, more like it would jump out of her chest at any moment. She could see her phone on the table in the living room, If She could just leave and pick it up, she will be able to call her mother to come and pick her up from here. She discerned quickly that they could not live under the same roof. The love they once had was long gone, every feeling had vanished and now the emptiness inside their hearts was filled with so much hate and anger that if they kept reappearing in front of each other, they would commit a crime.

After the silence made certain that he wasn’t coming back, she covertly slid the door open and hustled to the living room, and grasped her phone successfully. As she had only maintained her posture to run back to the door, her eyes picked up the sight of Ryker standing in his room’s door. He didn’t seem like he was going to make a little effort to come after her, he just had his arms folded across his chest and his eyes watching Kathleen.

His calmness did halt her steps for a moment but deep down inside, she was so scared of him that she didn’t want to give it a chance. She dashed towards the terrace and locked the door in awkward silence. He hadn’t moved this entire time. Then as she began to dial her mother’s number, he strolled to the couch and played the TV very calmly. He was acting as if nothing had happened.

“Mom?” she began to break down into sobs the very next moment she heard her mother’s voice.

“Kathleen? What is happening? Are you okay?” Lady Lyl was shocked to hear her daughter so strong sobbing miserably, “Kathleen?” She called out again.

“I can’t live with him, he is insane.” Kathleen couldn’t believe she would be calling him that, it was no surprise that almost every man she had met, half of them turned out pretty crazy.

“Did he hurt you?” Lady Lyl felt heat rushing through her veins while asking that question.

“Please just come and pick me up, I can’t live here.” It was Kathleen’s second day here and things had turned dirty pretty quick.

“Okay, okay, I am coming.” Lady Lyl hung up the phone to make it to the building along with Mr. Parker and Roy.

Kathleen flopped down on the couch on the Terrace outside, trembling in the cold while making sure she keeps her eyes on Ryker, who was still watching TV. The doorbell rang and Kathleen found strength in her body, it has to be her mother. She slowly staggered up on her feet and reached the glass door to glance at the door. Ryker got up from the couch and attended the door. In front of his eyes was Roy, Mr. Parker, and Lady Lyl, who looked hysterical and afraid to see her daughter in pain.

“Where is my daughter? What did you do to her?” She screamed at the top of her lungs and came for Ryker’s collars.

“Easy!” Ryker lifted his hands and smirked, “This is abuse,” he made sure his hands don’t come in contact with Lady Lyl or any of them.

“I will show you abuse if you didn’t tell us where the heck is Kathleen?” Roy pushed Lady Lyl aside and held Ryker’s collars to shrug him. Ryker still didn’t fight back, he just sounded like someone who was getting abused.

“She is fine, over there enjoying the view,” He gently turned his body to point at the terrace.

Kathleen was able to see her family, she slid the door open and booked to the living room where she connected with her mother.

“Oh My God! your skin is so cold.” Lady Lyl hugged Kathleen to warm her up while Roy and Mr. Parker approached Kathleen to comfort her.

“I don’t wanna stay here.” Kathleen cried in her mother’s arms, shivering at the thought of Ryker glaring at her from across the glass door earlier. The sight was horrifying and difficult to forget.

It was bizarre that the person who she had once seen showing love for her, has now his eyes filled with rage and hatred.

“Yeah! I won’t let you stay here. Let’s pack your bags and leave.” Lady Lyl side-eyed Ryker, who calmly reached the living room and turned off the TV.

“Yeah! She can leave.” Ryker mended his shirt’s collars leisurely and cleared his throat to add, “But on the day of her delivering the baby, I and my lawyer will visit her to take the baby away.” His announcement made all of them stare at him, bugged eyes.

“My lawyer will see how it happens.” Lady Lyl ran her hand up and down on Kathleen’s arm to calm her down, but what she didn’t know was that Ryker had way too much to use against them.

“Sure, I will make sure to bring the contract papers Kathleen had signed on the day of our wedding.” He tilted his face and smirked very comfortably.

Kathleen gently grabbed her mother’s hand and freed herself, her eyes stuck at his smirking face.

“What contract?” her lips were dry, yet she forced to make a word out of them. The cold shivers she got from his claim left her world spinning.

“The contract that said, if you left my house, if you demanded a divorce, you will hand me the baby. That you don’t want this baby,” he shrugged his shoulders very proudly and flopped down on the couch, leaving everyone shocked and scared.

“I---,” the statement was enough to reduce Kathleen to tears, she couldn’t imagine he would be this cunning.

“That’s why they say, girls like you are so desperate to bind a successful man that they sign any papers thrown their way in hopes of getting married without even reading them.” The sarcasm in Ryker’s tone left her speechless.

“Oh! And my lawyer will very soon contact you for the physical abuse your insane daughter put me through.” He steadily showed his cheek to them and ran his finger down the scratch mark.

Kathleen had her eyes stuck at the man, who she failed to understand before. That was all on her, she should have realized how messed up he was when she went through her brother’s diary.
