More to come!
Corinna I stare at the closet door with my mouth open, dumbfounded. “Stop staring and go!” She whispers forcefully, and I jump. Right, yes. I need to go and pretend to be sleeping, and then I can get out of here. I get into bed and assume the position I was in when I woke up and heard what I heard. I lie there with my eyes closed, trying to calm my breathing, but it’s difficult because internally I’m seething. I still can’t believe Tess. All these years, while I confided every secret, every fear, every vulnerability, leaving myself open and exposed only for her to lie to my face about who she is. I can’t believe I even allowed her to be around my son. Oh, Artemis, Elijah! “Calm yourself, child. I can hear your erratic heartbeats. I will explain everything later. I promise.” She softly whispers. There’s something about her tone that’s almost maternal, and for whatever reason, it makes me feel reassured, so I follow her advice by closing my eyes and taking a long, deep breath
Gabriel I arrive outside the apartment buildings first, followed by Wyatt, who stops and bends forward panting, ahead of the others. “I will never call you old again. Fuck, my lungs feel like they are on fire.” He says, chuckling, still trying to catch his breath. I shrug, feeling smug. “You’re not too bad for a half-breed.” After the bastard effectively killed himself, we all decided to come back here. Wyatt mentioned that Tess would want to know what went down tonight. He also advised both the Amazons and me to tell everyone what we suspect is going on, as it involves everyone, directly or indirectly. I thought about it for a moment, and yes, he has a point. If we are to start fighting back, then we all need to be on the same page. Fortunately, I know who’s at the apartment, and most of them I trust implicitly, so I have no problem telling them about Lycans. The Amazons, however, are a different story, which is why I need to have a quick word with Sofia.A low whistle from beh
Tess I’ve never been so anxious in my life! All this waiting and wondering is making me crazy, not to mention this stranger turning up at the front of the building is not helping matters. I don’t care what Sofia says, I am not letting that guy inside or anywhere near my girl. I continue pacing with my arms crossed in the lobby like a crazy person. “Is he still here?” Anne asks, making me jump. “Sorry.” She sheepishly says, her eyes going to the front doors. I nod. “Yes. He says he received a call from Robbie, stating that some of them are on their way back, so I guess we will find out then if he’s legit…” I trail off, wondering if that’s the reason she’s apprehensive. “Oh, I know he’s legit. I’ve already checked. He’s the reason why I couldn’t get into Alpha Wyatt’s pack, actually. I just didn’t expect the guy who did that to look like him. I thought he would look like a geek or something. Someone like me, basically.” She says, scrunching her lips together awkwardly. I tilt my h
TW - Minor themes of violence and torture. Wyatt Everything and everyone stopped after Gia dropped that bomb until the sound of a feral roar broke the stunned silence. “You whore!” The Beta yells, standing up, but doesn’t get far as Gabriel grabs him from behind, one hand on his neck, and the other holds one of his waving arms by twisting it behind his back. “AH! Let go of me!” He yells, making Gabriel and the blonde chuckle. Gia watches and simply shrugs while flashing him a victorious smile. “Well, you only have yourself to blame. You’re the one who enjoyed punching and kicking me while putting that pathetic excuse of a dick inside of me. What did you think was going to happen? Speaking of, thanks. Saved me the trouble of drinking silver or bleach. They do taste quite awful.” She said, making a gag noise. Jax starts angrily growling, licking his chops like he wants to kill and eat something raw after tearing it apart. I must say, it’s a little unnerving to see my Beta like th
WyattI walk around to the front of my truck, holding an almost-sleeping Cora by the waist with one hand. I carefully open the driver’s car door with my free hand, pushing the seat forward so I can somehow get into the back seat as I have Cora wrapped around me like a little spider monkey. Under other circumstances, I wouldn’t mind this one bit. “He’s found us…I need to…” She drowsily slurs into my neck, but Axel’s loud, rumbling purr cuts her off again. I climb into the car, closing the door behind me. I unhook her legs from around my waist so I could sit with her placed on my lap, her legs outstretched, while keeping a firm hold around her waist, trying to ignore that her ass is directly above my crotch.I cup her cheek, my thumb stroking it, and give her little soft kisses starting at her temple down to her cheek. Her sleepy, drowsy eyes open, and she looks at me. “I told you before, I have you and him. Nothing is going to happen. You need to calm down, my fearless little mate
Gabriel “I’m going to kill him!” I growl, and without realizing, my hands turn into claws, piercing into the back of the fucker’s thighs. “Whoa, whoa!” The blonde says, putting her hands over mine to stop my claws from digging any further. “Trust me when I say, I would love nothing more than to see him being torn apart, but we can’t.” “Watch me.” I snarl as the guy starts wincing and wriggling in my hold. “No, we can’t. Yet. Let’s just get him back to the others, get answers because we ALL have questions, and then you can go to town if you choose to.” She says, her hands still on mine. I blow out a frustrated breath because she’s right, and I know this is her only chance to find out about her sister. I also know that Wyatt wants to interrogate him about the females, even though the Amazons and I have a pretty good idea about that. He is Xander’s Beta after all. I sigh deeply and retract my claws, giving her a nod of assurance. “I’m good.” She gives me a quizzical look, asse
