ANMELDENRieka Seth's alarm went off, and I gently elbowed him to hurry up and turn it off. I wish that I could say that the annoying sound had woken me up, but I was already awake after having another bad dream. Dreams about a life I didn't live, of people I didn't know, of a time I didn't recognize. But the dreams were the least of my worries, at least for right now. I needed to get my ass out of bed and get ready for training. About ten years have passed since the year all of our lives were turned upside down and we found each other .... and ourselves. It took a little bit to get all of the pieces of the puzzle to fit together, especially after the others had their children, but Gypsy Rain was stronger and more united than ever, even with our revolving door. "They better not have drunk all the coffee again," I grumbled as I got dressed. "I'm more concerned if those little shits ate my donuts again. Coffee can easily be made," Seth replied teasingly. Amar snorted as if he was irritated
Rieka I snuggled my head into Seth's chest as he lightly ran his fingertips across my back, sending tingling goosebumps across my skin and causing my nipples to harden. We had decided to spend the morning together in bed to enjoy each other's company and bodies, something we hadn't had a chance to do in a while. During our emergency meeting, we all realized that because Seth and I have vampire venom running through our veins, and I gifted the pack with magical strength the night of the fight, it meant that Moon Rain will never be your average werewolf pack. From that moment on, the pack and its members were destined to live like vampires. Which was only fitting since almost all of the ranking members had been changed. Seth had asked for my thoughts on combining Gypsy Moon and Moon Rain into a new pack name: Gypsy Rain. Of course, I agreed, and we held a pack meeting to inform all of the members what staying in the pack meant for them. Anyone who wasn't comfortable with the ide
Selene Fenrir and I were watching the union from the edges of the pond bank. The moment Dis disappeared, I knew I'd soon be getting an earful. "Selene! Where the fuck are you!" Dis yelled from the opposite end of the large pond. "I told you this was a bad idea," Fenrir mumbled from next to me. I turned and glared at my partner in crime. "Shush it." Dis immediately appeared in front of me, and if looks could kill a goddess, I'd be dead for sure. "What the fuck were you thinking, Selene?!" Dis asked with an angry tone as he stared into my eyes. I smiled softly. "You know I can't tell you that, Dis." Dis never once blinked as he continued to stare at me angrily. "I'm so tired of you women using me as a pawn in your fucking games! First Julia, and now you. What the fuck is going on?" "Don't you have more important things to do other than question Selene's motives?" a familiar female voice asked from behind Fenrir and I. I sighed without turning around. "Hello, Hecate." The
Rieka I placed my left hand on Amar's back, letting him know I appreciated his protection, but not to act hastily. Seth also took a step forward, and I immediately grabbed his arm with my other hand, stopping him as well. Oh, yeah, that's a good idea. Let's attack a male witch who can teleport. That makes perfect sense ..... men."I told you, he's a warlock," Lupa grumbled. What's the difference? "Excuse me, but what exactly are you doing here, Mr .... what's your name?" Seth asked as he glared at the slender man. A wry grin formed on the man's face as he adjusted his glasses. "I can't believe that gray dog is still kicking after all these years," the man said as he looked at Amar, completely ignoring Seth. Amar let out another deep growl and took a couple of steps forward. I removed my hand from Amar's back and smiled at the stranger, letting the man know I wasn't about to stop Amar a second time. The man swallowed nervously as he took a step backwards. "As Sylvia sai
Rieka I was hiding behind the stage at the end of the banquet hall, taking everything in as I waited for the union to start. The long, antique wooden tables featured simple, clear glass pillar vases with faux flowers anchored in clear, iridescent glass beads, filled with water, and topped with a simple floating tea candle. Each vase contained a different-colored flower with a candle that accentuated it. The simple, relaxing look highlighted the fact that the tables were filled with pack members who were happy to be there and share the day with Jo, Sam, and Sylvia. "Jackie and the others seem to be enjoying themselves," Seth said as he walked up from behind me. I smiled and nodded my head as I looked at the crowd. "Are you nervous?" Seth asked with a hint of humor in his voice. I quietly looked down at the midnight blue dress that I was wearing. Thankfully, it was just long enough to cover my flat shoes, but not so long that there was a risk of my stepping on it and making
Rieka Seth and I were at the banquet hall, helping to set up for the union, when Todd's voice interrupted us. "Rhi, Seth, I hate to bug you guys, but Miss Tubbs and the others ...... " Todd started to remind us of our guests, but I quickly cut him off. Shit! Seth and I quickly evanesced over to the pack house, something we had been working on perfecting, and I opened the meeting room door to see a dozen people, including Jackie, who glanced down at her watch. "I am SO sorry, Jackie! We completely lost track of time!" I said as Seth and I grabbed a cup of coffee from the side table. "So much for breakfast," Lupa grumbled as we sat down at the end of the big table, next to Seth. Jackie shrugged her shoulders. "We honestly wouldn't have known how long we were waiting if you didn't say anything. Your cooks were wonderful and offered us breakfast since they already had a bunch of food cooked up. So I guess we should be thanking you for being late. " "Who are you kidding?" a
