Kael

The music pulsed through the halls of the Moonlight Packhouse, a vibrant melody of celebration. Laughter and chatter echoed from every corner, mingling with the scents of roasted meats and freshly baked bread that filled the air. Tonight marked the annual mating ceremony, a sacred event under the Moon Goddess’s blessing.

None of it mattered to me.

I gripped the balcony railing, my claws digging into the polished wood. Below me, the packhouse thrived with life, wolves swaying to music, their faces aglow with joy and anticipation. Each one hoping to find the mate destined to complete them.

I should have been one of them.

Years had passed since I first stepped into this ceremony, searching for the one the Moon Goddess had created for me. And every year, I left mateless. The hope I once carried had long since turned to bitterness.

The thought of enduring yet another fruitless night gnawed at me.

Zane’s absence weighed heavily, though I’d never admit it. My twin had left days ago to lead a campaign against the rogue wolves threatening our borders. It was my responsibility to remain here, to host this charade of a celebration.

I turned sharply, leaving the balcony behind.

The cheerful din of the hall grated on my nerves as I moved through the crowd, ignoring the warm greetings of pack members. At the bar, I grabbed a bottle of whiskey, the burn of the alcohol dulling the edges of my frustration.

“Alpha Kael, are you alright?” someone asked hesitantly.

I waved them off with a growl. “Leave me.”

The world blurred as I drained the bottle, the weight of my responsibilities growing heavier with every passing moment. By the time I stumbled out into the cool night air, my steps were uneven, my thoughts muddled.

And then I saw her.

She stood bathed in moonlight, her silver eyes catching the light like stars. Dark hair framed her delicate face, cascading over her shoulders like a veil of shadow. She was otherworldly, her presence pulling at something deep within me.

My wolf surged to the surface, his voice ringing in my ears.

Mate.

Amelia

The grand packhouse rose before me, its glowing spires stretching toward the moonlit sky. Music and laughter spilled into the cool night air, wrapping me in a strange mix of nerves and excitement.

“This is it,” I whispered, my fingers gripping the edges of my shawl.

Nyx stirred in the back of my mind, her presence brimming with anticipation.

“It’s beautiful,” she said, her voice soft with wonder. “You were right to come, Amelia. Something feels different tonight.”

I smiled faintly, though my heart hammered in my chest. “You’re just saying that because you’re desperate for a mate.”

“Can you blame me?” Nyx huffed, though there was no malice in her tone. “We’ve been alone for too long. Maybe tonight is the night the Moon Goddess blesses us.”

Her excitement was contagious, and I let myself feel the spark of hope she carried.

The path to the packhouse was lined with lanterns, their soft glow lighting my way. I adjusted my shawl as I approached the doors, my pulse quickening with each step. The thought of turning back crossed my mind more than once, but curiosity pushed me forward.

“Don’t worry,” Nyx said reassuringly. “If it gets too overwhelming, we’ll leave. No one will even notice we were here.”

I nodded, taking a deep breath before stepping inside.

The packhouse was dazzling. Glittering chandeliers hung from the vaulted ceilings, their light reflecting off the polished floors. Wolves dressed in elegant finery mingled and danced, their laughter filling the air.

“Wow,” Nyx murmured.

“Yeah,” I whispered, taking it all in.

I stayed close to the walls, keeping to the edges of the crowd. My shawl provided some comfort, a small shield against the curious glances of wolves who noticed me.

Most quickly looked away, their attention drawn back to the celebration.

“We fit in more than I thought we would,” Nyx said cheerfully. “No one’s staring.”

“Yet,” I replied under my breath, though her optimism eased some of my nerves.

I moved quietly, my eyes scanning the room. And then I smelled it.

A scent unlike any other....wild, smoky, and utterly captivating. It wrapped around me, tugging at something deep inside.

Nyx inhaled sharply. “Do you feel that?”

I nodded, my breath catching as I turned, my gaze searching for the source.

And then I saw him.

He leaned against a column, his dark hair framing a face so striking it made my heart stutter. His emerald-green eyes seemed to glow in the dim light, piercing through the crowd as if they were searching for something—or someone.

My wolf stirred, her excitement growing.

“He seems different. In a good way,” Nyx whispered, awe and joy lacing her voice.

Kael

She stepped closer, her silver eyes shimmering with a mix of curiosity and innocence. My wolf growled in approval, his energy surging as her scent wrapped around us.

“Who… who are you?” I asked, my voice rough and unsteady.

Her lips parted, and her voice was soft as she replied, “Amelia.”

The sound of her name sent a shiver down my spine.

Her gaze swept over me, her expression shifting to concern. “Are you alright?”

I blinked, struggling to focus through the haze of whiskey and the pull of the mate bond. My legs felt unsteady, and my head swam with a confusion I couldn’t place.

“I should…” The words trailed off as my knees threatened to buckle beneath me.

She moved quickly, slipping an arm around my waist to steady me. The warmth of her touch ignited something primal within me, the mate bond roaring to life.

“Let me help you,” she said gently.

I didn’t resist as she guided me down the hall and into an empty room. Her presence was overwhelming, and I was too dazed to fight it.

When she helped me onto the bed, her hands brushed mine, sending another jolt of warmth through me.

“You’ll feel better after some rest,” she said, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face.

As she turned to leave, her scent hit me again, sharper this time. My wolf growled possessively, demanding that she stay.

“Don’t let her leave,” he snarled.

“Stay,” I rasped, my voice barely recognizable.

She froze, her back to me. Her breathing grew uneven as she turned, her silver eyes wide.

“You can’t leave,” I said, my gaze locked on her.

The mate bond surged, and I couldn’t stop myself. My instincts had taken over.

Amelia

My heart pounded as he stepped toward me, his emerald eyes burning with an intensity I couldn’t comprehend.

“Kael,” I whispered, though I didn’t know how I knew his name.

Nyx’s voice was a mixture of awe and urgency. “He’s ours, Amelia. He’s our mate.”

But the air in the room shifted, a strange, heady scent overpowering everything else. I turned, spotting a small pot in the corner with wisps of smoke rising from it.

“An aphrodisiac,” Nyx murmured, her excitement dimming. “Someone set us up.”

“No,” I whispered, panic tightening my chest.

Kael’s gaze darkened as the mate bond pulsed between us, undeniable and unrelenting.

“There’s no stopping it now,” Nyx said, her voice resigned but soft.

The bond flared, and in that moment, there was no turning back.

  • The Twin Alpha's forbidden Mate   Spared

Amelia The forest stretched endlessly before me, the shadows thickening with each passing minute. Twisted branches clawed at the sky like skeletal fingers, their jagged silhouettes illuminated by a pale, reluctant moon. The weight of banishment pressed heavily on my chest, a constant ache that made it hard to breathe. I stumbled over a root, catching myself against the rough bark of a tree. My breaths came in shallow gasps, my lungs burning from the effort of running. I wasn’t sure how far I had gone, only that every step put more distance between me and the life I’d lost. The packhouse, my home for as long as I could remember, was gone. Kael’s voice echoed in my mind, a relentless reminder of my exile. “For the safety of the pack, you are hereby banished.” Tears streamed down my face, hot and unrelenting. I wiped at them furiously, frustration bubbling alongside my grief. How could they do this? The night was eerily silent, broken only by the crunch of leaves beneath my boot

AmeliaThe journey back to the packhouse was shrouded in suffocating silence, save for the heavy footfalls of the guards flanking me. My wrists ached beneath the iron grip of their hands, though they offered no resistance to my movement. I wasn’t sure if their caution stemmed from fear or duty, but their blank expressions betrayed nothing. The grand gates loomed ahead, a wrought-iron symbol of the place I’d once called home. Beyond them, the sprawling packhouse towered like a beast on the horizon, its windows glowing faintly in the moonlight. My stomach churned with nausea.Kael’s voice echoed in my mind, sharp and unforgiving.“You’re a siren.”His accusation tore at me, repeating itself with merciless certainty. The guards ushered me through the gates and into the main courtyard. Wolves lingered in clusters, their conversations paused as they turned to stare. My disheveled appearance didn’t help, my hair was tangled, my clothes torn from the skirmish in the forest. But it wasn’t pit

  • The Twin Alpha's forbidden Mate   Bitter truth

Amelia The first light of dawn broke through the trees, painting the forest in soft gold and pink. I stood still, my chest rising and falling with unsteady breaths as I watched the shadows retreat before the sun's gentle warmth. For a moment the world seemed at peace, as if the chaos of the night had been nothing but a bad dream. But as the sun climbed higher, it's warmth reaching my skin, the weight in my chest grew heavier. Each step away from the Packhouse seemed to strip another layer from me. The pull of the mate bond didn't diminish as I distanced myself; if anything, it grew stronger, like a chain around my heart, tightening with each heart beat. I wasn't a complete wolf, I was half siren. My blood was thick with the blood of my siren lineage. I grew up with sirens, I ate with them, I laughed with them. There was no way I could ever fit in as the Luna of Moonlight pack, After all, they despised us sirens , the hatred going on between the two creatures for generations. It w

AmeliaI woke to the first rays of sunlight streaming through the curtains, warm against my skin. My body felt different....tired yet strangely alive. As I stretched, a dull ache reminded me of what had happened the night before. My eyes flew open, and I froze. He was there, sprawled on his stomach, half covered by the sheet. His dark hair was tousled, and his muscular back rose and fell with each steady breath. I swallowed hard, trying to make sense of the chaos in my mind. Then the memories came rushing back, the way he’d looked at me, the scent of that infernal incense, the heat that had overtaken my senses.I felt my cheeks flush. What had I done?Panic surged through me as I carefully slid out of the bed, trying not to make a sound. My clothes lay discarded on the floor, a testament to the madness of the night. Grabbing my dress, I slipped it on hastily, my hands trembling.I glanced back at him. Even in his sleep, he exuded power, his jawline sharp and his expression relaxed. Fo
