Chapter two

I made sure both my doors were locked and my window glass was rolled up, there was so much blood on the street, everyone was fighting each other, humans carried guns, Axes, and wolfsbane while the lycans and werewolves sharpened their claws and teeth. This is such a disturbing sight.

I sighted a young frail old man caught amid all the chaos looking scared and confused, I should be out there trying to help the weak but that will make the werewolves hunt me down, as werewolf I must not side with humans, if not I would be dead before tomorrow.

A brown werewolf with golden eyes in his wolf form walked quietly behind the man and leaped, his mouth was wide open and the distance between his upper lip and lower lip is Almost equivalent to the distance from California to Antarctica, without mercy he grabbed the man by his head locking his jaws around the man's head and slowly broke his skull, the man screamed and hollered in pain and agony, my skin crawled and my blood boiled at the same time.

I felt a pang in my chest and I teared up a bit, the man struggled and threw his arms all over the place trying to break free, hot tears rolled down his cheeks as blood spilled from his head, the wolf broke his skull and the old man fell limp to the ground, unmoving, but the werewolf wasn't done....he walked closer to the man and pissed on him cackling and howling in joy.

My stomach churned and my heart shattered, I would do anything to not be a werewolf right now. "This is against all rules and laws governing the werewolves, they will be punished if apprehended," Lara said quietly in an attempt to soothe me.

"This is insane!! These things are nothing but monsters ugh!!!" I felt like ripping out my eyeballs just so I wouldn't see anymore all the chaos and death. I drove out of there as quickly as I could. I sighed in relief as I got to the safe part of the town, riot, and fights are yet to happen here but they will happen eventually, for now, it's a safe space. I parked on the side of the road and pulled out my phone.

I should call Lynx her house is very safe, her dad is the delta of the pack here but for some reason her mom wanted her to stay out of the pack which I agree with. I dialed her number and it started ringing, I placed it on my ear she sighed loudly.

"Hey, girl." Hey, the high-pitched voice sounded from the phone and I felt instant relief and happiness.

"What's up? Hey uhm can I come over to your place? Some rogues broke into my home and I'm sure it's in ruins by now." I asked with a smile on my face knowing full well she can't say no to that request, we've been friends for many years now.

"Are you not a rogue to I'm sure you could have easily made peace with them." She replied and I snickered.

"There are different types of rogues okay? That's by the way, can I just come over? I don't have anywhere else to go." I pouted and made a puppy face, it's not like she could see it.

"I'm not at home, I and my mom are in the pack even though our house isn't as safe anymore." She replied, what's with that attitude?

"Oh okay, I'll go somewhere else, thanks," I said and hung up the phone.

"She hates that you are a rogue," Lara stated, she is the queen of stating the obvious.

"Really? What made you think so?" I rolled my eyes at her and started the car, I drove down to a low-budget motel close to where I work, it's still up and running, thank God!!

I turned off the ignition and got out of the car with my backpack and suitcase. The place is very small and not somewhere I ever want to be, I've never been here before cause it looks so small and shitty but for some reason, they always have lots of customers and people are always coming in and out of the hostel. I made my way inside and the crowd there surprised me, everyone was yelling and I could barely make out what was being said or what was going on.

"What happened?" I asked the middle-aged lady yelling at God knows what is in front of me.

"They don't want to give out any rooms...." she replied not sparing me a glance, everyone was on edge and there was tension everywhere. I literally had nowhere to stand on I was standing on someone's foot and that's how crowded this place is, the other high-quality hotel that's here is on the outskirts of town and it's very expensive.

"Why? Are there no rooms?" I asked trying to hold onto something to avoid falling and getting trampled on.

"There are rooms but they don't want to give any out for no reason." the lady replied glancing at me briefly. The screams and yells grew louder and some even started roaring, it was so disastrous.

"Let us in!!!" A few people from the other side chanted, the security was at the front desk side stopping anyone ad everyone from trying to go into the hotel.

"Shut up!!!!" A very masculine, husky, and loud voice roared and everyone shut their face holes instantly, I was still swinging back and front where I was trying not to fall.

"Please, kindly vacate the hostel premises and go elsewhere." The person said sternly and firmly, leaving no room for argument, everyone was quiet at first and then they started murmuring.

"Just know that this isn't fair!!! If anything happens to me or/and my family, our blood will be on your hands!!" a masculine voice said in pain as everyone started making their way out of the hotel, the number of people that stepped on my leg....it hurts so bad.

Everyone was almost out of the hotel when one man holding two kids dodged the security and bolted, he made his way to the hotel, and two of the security officers went after him leaving only one to stop us from entering, others got the same idea and attempted to go into the hotel causing a stampede.

I also held onto my suitcase hard and struggled to get past the people and security, I pushed and struggled and finally made it out of the crowd, I immediately ran upstair. I tripped and almost fell down the stairs but I quickly caught myself, I ran through the hallway along with many others looking for a room to settle in.

The place was a lot bigger and cooler on the inside than on the outside, I saw beautiful paintings and vases beautifully decorating the white walls of the hall.

I barged into a room but it was occupied, I left there and barged into another room tripping on my luggage and I fell flat on my face, I got up quickly when the bulky-looking man in the room approached me, with my suitcase and bag I left there and kept looking for a vacant room. I took the stairs and went to the next floor, I attempted opening the door but it was locked, others seemed to be experiencing the same thing.

I kept checking the other room doors to see if the doors were open but they weren't.

I bolted and took a left, I and a lady opened the first door on our right and luckily for us it was vacant, I glanced at her and she pushed me away before she could shut the door I stopped her and grabbed her her her arm, then threw her aggressively across the hallway, her body hit the wall with a loud thud and she collapsed on the floor.

"I'm sorry," I said loudly before I slammed the door shut and locked it behind me. I slid down the door and placed my head in my hand.

"We will be okay," Lara whispered in my head and I couldn't stop the hot tears that rolled down my plump cheeks.

"Is this how we'll live from now on?" I sobbed quietly fearing the worst.
