1 The Start of a Dilemma
I woke up on a bench in the park near my department building. I can't remember how I got in here. I must have been so tired preparing for the midterm exams. I am now a sophomore student taking up nursing. Nursing is not really my first choice for my major, but my mom insisted that I take this course. As she always says "Being a nurse is one of the most stable jobs. Schools and businesses may close but hospitals will never have that problem." I protested for a long time, but as everyone knows, Asian moms are known as tiger moms. They are so protective of their kids to the point that they make sure they always choose the best decisions for them. Don't get me wrong, I love my mom and she actually has a point. Most of the friends I have from the Philippines which is where my parents were born by the way took up nursing. Both my parents are nurses. So as they say, older people know better because they have more experiences. As for my school, I chose the one near my place. I can go to bet

Emily Chavez, a nursing college student (that's who she thinks she is) is not known by many. She has always been quiet in class and doesn't have many friends. There are only two places she usually hangs out in: the library and the school park. She usually goes to these places to relax and many times, she sleeps there. No one really pays attention to her. She sometimes thinks that when she disappears or when she is absent from her class, no one including the professors would notice it. She spent the past two weeks preparing for her midterm exams. She has always been studious. She thinks that if she can have excellent marks in class, somehow she can be relevant for her classmates and her teachers. "Don't you think you're wasting our time?" Michelle's voice made her come back to her senses. She sounds irritated and impatient waiting for the test to start. Emily pulled the test papers and gave them to the person in front of the class. Emily couldn't stand it anymore. She was trying her best to calm down and think of how she got in this situation. She was waiting for anyone who would announce that everything was just a prank and that everyone took part in it, but it was already almost lunchtime and no one revealed the truth yet. Without looking back, she went out from the campus and headed straight home. There must be an explanation of how she ended up being a different person. Emily woke up from the alarm from her clock on her bedside table. She got up immediately and checked her phone. It's 7AM. She's aware that it's 7AM since her alarm clock is set to ring at that time, but she still wants to check it just in case it was too early or too late for her to wake up. She went straight to her small bathroom to take a shower. Her room is quite spacious with a few decorations hanging on the wall. She considers herself a minimalist. She doesn't feel comfortable posting anything on the walls in her room. She's also not that particular with colors. Her walls have a white floral wallpaper and the color of her bedsheet, pillowcases and blanket don't match. It's her mom who changes them once a month. After taking a shower and drying her hair, she put on a plain tshirt and jeans and took her backpack. She paused for a few minutes and sat down on the edge of her bed. "Do I still need to go to school?" She asked herself. Her experience yesterday was not good at all and d

Can it still be part of her dream. "Focus on your test paper, Miss Chavez!" Professor Blakely shouted. He was staring at Emily with a suspicious look on his face. No one in the room said anything. Everyone was busy with their own test. Emily could feel a sense of guilt inside her. She clearly remembers how she checked the questions from her dream and what the answers were. One paper included the answers to the test. Although she doesn't need to recall the answers from the paper since she is familiar with all the questions in the test, she still feels uncomfortable knowing that her classmates worked so hard for this test. She finished her test faster than all her cla

6 The Other One
"Here we go again." Emily murmured to herself. She was about to go back to her room when her mom shouted her name. "Emily! How long will you stand there? Don't tell me you won't eat your breakfast again? Working really changed you, huh! Earning your own money doesn't mean you can ignore the food I prepare at home!" Her mom always has a way to make her feel guilty which in reality is not effective at all. It has only been the second day for Emily to work. She can't even remember how she started working. Knowing that her mom won't stop nagging, she sat down on the dining table and examine the food in front of her: fried rice, fried fish, fried egg and the meat dish they had last night. On normal days, Emily would eat everything without any worries. She loves everything her mom cooks. But today is a special day, this is the first morning she would have breakfast as Professor Emily. 10 The Game
Emily's POV"I have a surprise for you." This statement keeps rewinding in my head. What could be his surprise? Maybe he would just show off his skills in basketball which I think everyone already knows. I have seen him play last year in the Sports Fest and I also saw him practicing in some of the games. He's indeed the star player of the nursing department. Nothing is surprising with that.I chose to spend the whole morning in the faculty room. I remember I have to check the papers for the last test. Luckily, I saw the answer key in one of my desk drawers. No matter how I try to accept my situation now, I still can't believe I would be a professor, let alone a biology professor. I have never liked science since I was young and my memory sucks. Whoever is behind this might be laughing right now knowing that I'm in big trouble."Professor Chavez, don't you have any plans to have lunch?" Professor Jennings asked.
